The house sits on an amazing small private beach that has a protected reef. The kids enjoyed snorkeling all day and as parents we really didn’t have to worry about waves, etc. The house has plenty of rooms and space for a large family. Also, the house has more the of small niceties such as utensils, spices, plates, etc… than numerous other vacation rentals we have stayed at.

The house was as advertised and fit out family of 8 adults and 6 grandkids vey well. The pool was amazing and the beach was pretty cool too. My only complaint is the BBQ is hard to light despite changing the starter battery. When it did light there was a big Whoosh.

Our stay was amazing! The house lives up to the photos. Our younger children loved in the pool, while the teenagers enjoyed the beach right out front. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony watching the waves crash, fish as well as a sea turtle in the tide pool, humpback wales breaching and cocktails with the sunset at night. There was plenty of space for our family of 11. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed.

We spent a week in Mermaid Cove and leaving was so hard! The views out every back window/door are just jaw dropping. The waves sound like they’re in the house, and the sliding doors that open the living room up to the lanai make it seem as if you’re on the beach at all times.
Being able to walk out the back door and take a few steps to reach the beach and Keiki Ponds absolutely MADE our vacation. Easily the best place to stay in Kona!

*LOCATION!!!! The protected cove out back is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, even boogie boarding. We saw a sea turtle, many fish, and a moray eel.
*Well equipped kitchen
*Air conditioning in the bedrooms and relaxation spaces (unnecessary in the living room and kitchen with the breeze off the ocean)
*Pool is private and the rental has tons of pool and beach gear available
*Close to town but felt very private and protected due to it being in a gated community
*Fun spaces and plenty of toys and such for young children (not part of our group but would have been awesome with little ones)
Cons:
*No powder room/guest bathroom which made it a bit challenging while hanging out on main floor; all bathrooms are only accessible through the associated bedrooms
*On high tide days (we had several during our trip), the sea water/beach sand floods the entire backyard, rendering the patio and pool completely unusable (although management had someone out the next day to clean out the sand from the pool)
*Master bathroom shower has an unfrosted window with no covering that looks directly into the neighbor’s house and pool area
This house was the ideal setting for our family vacation and we could not have been happier with the proximity to the ocean. Our son even proposed to his girlfriend just a ways down the beach!
We already miss going to sleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the lava rocks and waking up to the incredible view. Wonderful memories we will always treasure!

The house worked out perfectly for our family of 8. It is extremely well equipped with everything from beach toys to chairs, umbrellas, etc. the kitchen has everything as well. It’s kinda funny but very helpful that someone went crazy with a label maker identifying everything from dishes in each cabinet to light switches. The only thing I’d say is the decorations and furniture are a bit dated and the house has clearly been a high volume rental showing quite a bit of wear and tear. However, having the beach out your front door and close proximity to town really couldn’t be beat.

Our 2.5 year old had a blast playing in the pool and the tide pools just outside the property. The closets were stocked with toys and supplies for her fun and ours. There was a minor issue with the hot tub not heating up, but it was quickly addressed by the property manager. Awesome place!

The location was so wonderful that we didn't really need to leave all that much, as the tide pools had a lot for us to see and explore and we were very close to food (~5 minutes for all the best restaurants). The pool had great shade for the little ones so it wasn't your typical situation of having to get the kids out of the sun for a few hours on vacation. I do think the outside patio chairs need a good cleaning or replacing, however, though this is a minor point. A much more major point of sadness is we only had 6 days here. TRUE REMORSE. We will absolutely be back!

Nick & the folks as Elite properties were super helpful! Iʻve been renting vacation homes every year for 20 years for our large family get aways...this home & our neighbor were by far the most local friendly. I mean itʻs a big deal when a caravan of locals born, raised, and living on this island for more than 25 generations can pull up into what is now a gated community for a vacation well earned and truly feel WELCOMED! The kaheka or tidepools are marvelous, still teaming with wonderful creatures...the fishing (if youʻre experienced) is awesome. We ate fish for 2-nights just from the resources in this area. Pool was the main attraction for the 3-grandchildren and the big 30-something year oldʻs. The upstairs childrenʻs room right off the main suite is well supplied with quality books, toys and DRESS UP supplies. And the Media room is super comfy. Several of us still had Zoom classes, work, and studying to do--wi-fi was great and the home is spacious enough so that we all had our own study space...although being in the pool or out in the water was a distraction. We pre-arranged a day pass for my mom to come visit during the day. Perfect! Would totally come back!!

Kona vacation
Perfect location for a family with children. The access to the calm waters and sandy beach was ideal. Never crowded and staying at the house is a vacation in its own right. Nice to come back from a day of island exploring to a relaxing home.

Family Getaway!
We came in July which is naturally hot and humid. So, this open style home is just that! Thankfully, the bedrooms were air conditioned with the exception of one room and that air conditioner was waiting for a part. With that said, the view was spectacular! The tide pool made a perfect place to swim and hangout on gorgeously soft sand. The interior of the house was whimsically decorated with a mermaid theme. If you have kids....this is a perfect place to stay! They had costumes for kids, swimming wraps for adults, every floatation device including wet socks for the ocean. My husband and boys loved sitting on the veranda facing the ocean. We all enjoyed making meals and sitting down together for dinner or breakfast. The washer and dryer was really quite nice and clean, no musty smell. They did have a couple of unavoidable incidents to the house. One incident was a swell came and I guess washed sand and 4 inches of water into the bottom part of the patio/swimming area and the bottom guest room. Although the room and bathroom were very clean, it still strongly smelled musty enough that no one wanted to sleep there. The small library type room also had a strong smell to it but we didn't use that room. The other incident was the air conditioner was not working in one of the main floor bedrooms. They did come to fix it later in the week as our trip was coming to an end. My biggest surprise was that no notification was given to us that the repair people would be there and would have full access to the house. I happened to come back to the house by myself and found the repairman in the house. He was very nice but it put him also at a disadvantage. I called Nick, the manager, and he was also unaware the repairman would be there. This happened twice as the pool cleaners also came without our knowledge. It is a gated community with surveillance cameras for after hours however, the beach is still a public beach. Some days we left the big sliding glass doors open and other days we closed them. They have a great baseball field and soccer field behind the community. It was a nice and homey feeling; not touristy at all. Overall, we truly had the best time in this gorgeous house. Some minor issues could easily be resolved. My husband definitely said he would like to come back in the future.

Absolutely awesome home. The owner has supplied everything you need for an amazing Hawaiian vacation! Snorkels, fins, goggles, towels, pool toys and floats, sunscreen, dress-up clothes, games, toys, and books for the little ones and big ones.
The bunk room for the kinds was adorable! This is a perfect location right at Keiki Ponds. It is a very short walk to town and lots of shops and restaurants. Don’t miss the farmer’s market for fresh fruits and vegetables. We can’t wait to come back!!

We had one toddler and two babies alongside 5 adults staying in this house. There was ample space for the separate families. The location was wonderful. Directly outside the house was a beautiful beach with a sheltered swimming area - perfect for young kids and babies. The pool and hot tub were fantastic. Almost too good, as we could not get our 4 year old out of there. I was most surprised by all the extras. There were tons of pool toys, sand toys, kids books, games, stuffed animals, toys and all the kitchen gadgets you would ever want. We did have some problems with the bedroom air conditioning units, but management was responsive and the issues were dealt with. The main living space was spectacular and with the sliding doors open the breeze flowed nicely through the house. The lay out of the house did cause a bit of confusion, as the master is quite amazing but also houses the pull out coach/futon and the bunk beds for the kids. We intended for our senior most traveler to enjoy it but ultimately it went to the biggest family. In addition, the room downstairs was a bit musty, but with the windows open and the fan going, the smell improved. Overall we had a fantastic time filled with plenty of pool time, ocean time and grilling.

We stayed....two families with 3 15-year-old boys for a week in March. The house worked perfectly for us. The "Queen's Bath" the ocean pool just outside the house was lovely and a great place to swim around, look at fish and crabs and urchins, and just generally relax. A lovely small white sand beach. The house itself (Kona Bay Bliss) was great. Super clean and comfortable. The beds were great, and I am super picky. The house and kitchen were very well stocked with everything we could want. The pool was a main focus for our boys - as well as our old selves. And the hot tub was lovely. We honestly didn't have any issues, so did not need to reach out to management, which is a great thing! There is not air-conditioning, which might be a factor in hot summer months. This is a beautiful and clearly much-loved home. We enjoyed our week in paradise immensely!

We had such a wonderful time at Kona Bay Bliss. This is our second time staying here and we decided this year, we’re coming back every year. The new owners added some really nice personal touches. The kids room was filled with mermaids and flip sequence pillows. My six year old daughter was in heaven. We spent mornings tide looking and sipping coffe on the Landis with George pics and endless views. Walking distance to town and across the street was a huge field and awesome park/playground. We had a one year old with us as well and even though there are stairs, she was safe with the baby gates that were provided. Can’t wait to come back!!!!

Perfect for our large family of 11 and close to EVERYTHING active water view and the beach access.
Great folks to work with this house has the best supplied kitchen we have ever rented. We have done over 40. Location is amazing super active water view. We had a ball. We have never rented the same place twice .... but this is probably the exception. The management company was very helpful and the new owners really want you to have the best experience with all the stuff this place comes with for our use. Just wish we could have stayed another 11 days.

Perfect location, very clean and so serene
This is our second stay at Kona Bay Bliss and we loved as much this trip as we did the first. The location is great as it is a nice walk to downtown Kona for coffee of a morning, or some shopping. We found the house to be well appointed for cooking and beach items. There was the occasional gecko that would visit us as well, so don’t be surprised when they pop in as they are harmless and fascinating. Our days pretty much revolved around sunset - every evening we fixed our sunset cocktails and enjoyed the show from our porch or from the lava rock closer to the ocean. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Myself and the other guests came for the Ironman World Championships that I was competing in. The home was in the perfect location-only about a 1/2 mile walk to the pier. It was also situated on a public beach area that had a nice relaxing tide pool that could be enjoyed without the intense waves that you find at other beaches. The house had plenty of room for all the guests and had all the amenities. There were only a couple issues; however, they were resolved right away. The first was the refrigerator/freezer which wasn't working(keeping things cold or producing ice) for the first couple days. The property manager did come over the same day to address the issue thankfully and we were able to use it the rest of the time without any problems. The other issue was with the guard station. There was a concern from the guard house that we were coming in and out too much but that was simply because we had 10 people staying in the house and a couple days we had people over for dinner/to spend time together with friends. I'm not sure where the concern came from, whether the guards or the owner or property manager had issues, but it seemed one party or another was overly concerned with the use of the gate pass when no rules or guidelines were being violated. We were harassed by the guards for a few days but then it seemed to calm down. There was some mold noticed in the downstairs bedroom and a musty smell. I'm assuming this is due to the proximity to the ocean and lack of airflow in the downstairs bedroom, but that is something that could and should be addressed for future guests. One more thing to keep in mind is that there is no AC in the house. It does get quite stuffy in the bedrooms during the day and all of the windows need to be open, but later at night and into the early morning hours it's not too bad. Just be prepared to be in very light clothing during the daytime hours. All in all we enjoyed our stay and had a great time.

Enjoyable stay in a beautiful location.
Myself and the other guests came for the Ironman World Championships that I was competing in. The home was in the perfect location-only about a 1/2 mile walk to the pier. It was also situated on a public beach area that had a nice relaxing tide pool that could be enjoyed without the intense waves that you find at other beaches. The house had plenty of room for all the guests and had all the amenities. There were only a couple issues; however, they were resolved right away. The first was the refrigerator/freezer which wasn't working(keeping things cold or producing ice) for the first couple days. The property manager did come over the same day to address the issue thankfully and we were able to use it the rest of the time without any problems. The other issue was with the guard station. There was a concern from the guard house that we were coming in and out too much but that was simply because we had 10 people staying in the house and a couple days we had people over for dinner/to spend time together with friends. I'm not sure where the concern came from, whether the guards or the owner or property manager had issues, but it seemed one party or another was overly concerned with the use of the gate pass when no rules or guidelines were being violated. We were harassed by the guards for a few days but then it seemed to calm down. There was some mold noticed in the downstairs bedroom and a musty smell.
