Very nice home, and we enjoyed our stay. Took a while to figure out how to warm the house. Used the fireplace pretty much the whole weekend. Did have a little trouble locating the property being as we arrived in the evening and no lighting up the driveway and was no address markers of any kind.
Boys loved being real close to the river and walking distance to shopping.

Pros:Location was great! Right next to downtown Ruidoso. 5 minutes away from albertsons. Outdoor patio was great for breakfast.Very clean
Cons: We stayed late August and it was very hot inside even with mini split a/c units in living room and both bedrooms. A/C in master did not work. There was 1 toilet paper roll in ea bathrom and the 1 in the master was not brand new so pack your own tp. Key fob to get in is very complicated had to bother maintenance to help unlock the cabin because reservations were not answering after hours.

Great location! Saw lots of wildlife right in the yard. Only problem was only one small ac window unit. A mini split would be so much better or add one to the bedroom.

We enjoyed our stay. The unit we stayed in was Ok and the location to town was good. We felt like unit's AC should have been turned on earlier before our check in.

We really enjoyed our stay. Saturday we were watching 2 deer when they suddenly ran off. We could hear something rumbling down the hill. It was a herd of wild horses which was such a beautiful site! They stayed most of the night and we watched them for a while.
The only drawback was it would’ve been helpful to know where the light switch was for the kitchen. We searched for a long time before we found it.

Property was nice and convenient. It would be nice to have more light in the master bedroom, which is pretty dark, very dim lighting. The only thing that didn’t work was the garbage disposal. Couldn’t find the kitchen light. Finally found it behind the fridge. Overall was a positive stay.

Buckheads cabin
We loved the cabin and would definitely stay there again. Very comfortable and clean. We woke up to deer and elk in the mornings which was a plus. My only suggestion would be to place a light outside on the deck. We couldn’t sit outside after dark. Other than that, we loved it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had plenty of amenities. The creek and abundance of wildlife were huge hits for our three littles. The close proximity to town and ability to walk to the park, eateries, and shops made it for an easy trip for 3 under 3. We especially loved how quiet the neighborhood was despite being 2 streets over from the main road. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice getaway.

Not great only ok.
The picture of the front of the cabin doesn’t show that it’s in a subdivision with cabins on all sides and above, more crowded than we would have liked for a mountain getaway. We were missing a few key utensils for cooking and the pans needed to be cleaned before we could cook. Only a few of the outlets were usable as they were too loose to keep a plug held in. We were unable to use the grill as the propane wasn’t flowing through the regulator fast enough to keep the burners lit. It did have a new brush and new foil on the bottom to clean the grates which was good since it needed to be cleaned before we tried to use it. Some of the modern amenities that to be fair were not mentioned as operable were the in-fridge ice maker and water. The neighborhood deer and elk were awesome to have everyday and the stream was great for the kids.

Great place for a family to stay and venture out. We have 2 Boys (6 & 3) who are both hyperactive and outdoors type. They both loved, going down by the creek, seeing the deer walk around, sledding around in any downhill spots, and just exploring. We intended to only have a short 4day stay, but had to stay an additional 5 or 6 days due to snowpocalypse 2021 hitting Texas and making our travel back home impossible. We were very fortunate to have our travel back home postponed since there was no electricity/ heat (during freezing temps), water, fuel or food back home. The property management knew our predicament and worked with us on a day to day basis to extend our stay until it was safe for us to return. My family was able to stay warm, take warm showers, sleep comfortably, while our family & friends back home endured having to rough it. Forever grateful for that alone! The cabin itself is really cool. 2 nice size bedrooms; 2 full bathrooms; good size kitchen with everything U’d need & living room with gas fireplace. 2 Tv’s with cable. Conveniently located in town. We did walk to some places, but mainly did short drives to explore and pickup stuff up from stores/restaurants. Recommend having 4wd vehicle if visiting when snowing or not accustomed to driving in snow. Lots of local & chain restaurants close by; same for grocery/pantry stores. By the end of our stay I knew my way around well enough to give directions to another vacationer on where to find good sleds.
