It's had no cable and smell like cat's

I loved the room and the sleigh bed was so comfortable, the house was very clean and quiet, there was fresh made brownies waiting for us, the kitchen had plenty of breakfast options, there was coffee, tea, juice, there is a nice deck out back with a fire pit, small grill and the owner said they are getting a small pool to put on the deck. I was sitting on the deck that night and watched 6 deer wondering around the yard it was so peaceful.

I spoke by text with the owner. She was very generous about letting us use food in the kitchen. We helped ourselves and washed whatever dishes etc. we used.

It was a strange experience! It is someone’s home. Three bedrooms very close to each other. The occupants of the bedrooms on either side of ours , live there but we never saw them. The place didn’t meet our standards.

This is a beautiful property tucked away from Richmond but close enough to commute back and fourth (20 mins away WITH TRAFFIC!). Our hosts were extremely hospitable and offered us many goodies and gave us a few great tips for the area. There was free parking out front and we had a key to lock both the front door and our room door. The rest of the upstairs was shared space including the bathroom, but it was very pleasant and we had full access to the kitchen and groceries so we were able to make ourselves dinner and breakfast. The bedroom is very cozy with a TV and great decor, but the bed is pretty firm (still very cozy). On to the bathroom, because even though it is shared I have a lot of positive things to say about it. To start off, it’s very clean. Martha also has lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, honestly everything you need in case you didn’t pack your bathroom stuff! (Even bath bombs) The shower is also a very deep bathtub with plenty of shelves and a handlebar in case anyone needs it. It has a sliding glass door and fantastic water pressure! Overall this has been the best stay in that we’ve had in Richmond and we plan on coming back.

Breakfast was great. Location was very convenient to the VA Richmond facility.

There is a fully stocked kitchen with all kinds of things to eat and drink, including Martha’s famous Rum Cake. The bed was exceptionally comfortable.

Don’t forget that this is someone’s home. Much of the decor is tastefully done, but there are always things that need attention. Martha works incredibly hard as a nurse at night, and subsidizes her income by renting three small bedrooms, while she has her place in the basement.
