The location was decent, but any hostel/hotel in Seoul is generally well connected to the transport network.

When I saw the photos and considered the positive reviews, I thought it was a spartan but decent accommodation. Well it is not, and I wonder how such a facility can actually stay open. The first thing they do is ask for an extra 5% surcharge if you pay by credit card. The bed was a set of mattresses with the headboard resting on the floor to give a semblance of decency with a horrible mattress on which a plastic sheath was placed and sheets with corners (probably unwashed) that came undone during the night at the slightest movement. The room was dirty and stained everywhere with mold, especially in the bathroom and there was hair of others. The window faced a wall, so it was impossible to have light in the room even during the day. There were no chairs or shelves to lean on. Only two tiny white shelves and no outlet next to the "bed." In the bathroom, rust and mold everywhere, with a shower without a stall so when you wash, water invades every corner, sink and toilet. In such a damp and dilapidated environment, this is prolific for insects. In fact, the even more disturbing part was finding cockroaches and various other insects of the local fauna in the bathroom and bedroom. They were also in the hallways of the common areas. Plus, the bathroom door does not close. It can only be pulled over or jammed badly with force. Moreover, the handle has rusted and protruding screws. Needless to say, the remote controls for the TV and air conditioner were totally encrusted and dirty. There is a kitchen and a laundry room in the hostel as common spaces which I do not recommend since they are filthy, damp and smelly. Also Wi-Fi is was unstable. We wanted to leave but we read that many complained the staff refused to compensate. So, we tried to adapt: for your own good, get shown the room before you pay. Don't believe the reviews with high ratings they are unrealistic, especially if there are no demonstration photos.Too bad the money they collect is real.

The staff was genuinely decent and helpful! Very responsive and nice. I extended my stay easily. Check-in and out were easy and very quick. The location is really good near the subway and bus station, many convenient stores around. The kitchen area was good and sufficient. The bathroom is good and clean.

Room amenities were quite poor. I would've appreciated a small table. Also, the bed is not comfortable. If you have any knee problems, stairs could be a problem.

The single room was great for its value and I found it spacious. The counter staff was also approachable.

The soundproofing of the room was not very good as I can hear the neighbouring occupant snoring from the toilet. There are no lifts in this building and the stairs are narrow, so it may pose a challenge for those with heavy luggages. The location of this guesthouse is not the most terrific as it is about 10 mins from the subway station.

The theme of the room is quite peaceful and comfort. The location near line 5, 2 and also the bus stop. There is a supermarket nearby so you can have anything you want for your trip.

The staffs do not clean the room if you didn't tell them. How ever they only appear after 10 or 11 am so if you have to go out early, you will come back with an uncleaned room.

Good place to stay

It asked whether I would like to change the bunk-bed twin room for a double room for more comfort. Then I agreed and I chose a tiny double room near to the kitchen on the first floor.

It asked for a deposit before the deadline of Booking.com to confirm my reservation. When I paid with an international card it demanded 5% commission. The room was very humid, cold and dark because the window is blocked by a wall. AC was only for cooling. And you can't see the outside without going out. There was no table/desk, chair or shelf to put things in the room.

The members of staff are really nice and kind. They answered all my questions and helped me when I needed. The position of the guesthouse was excellent so it was easy to move in Seoul. It's near line 5 and 2, so you can go to Hongdae in less than 15 minutes! The guesthouse was really quiet and the district is safe during night hours. I really appreciated the laundry service: it was cheap (around 5€) and I got my clothes clean and dry in few hours. Wifi service was good as well. Also I was happily surprised when I saw free water distributor.

The kitchen is shared with other guesthouse's guests so sometimes I found it a little bit dirty. The room was dimly lit and a bit cold and damp.

Great for a one night stay over, friendly staff.
