Very nice home in a beautiful part of the island. Extras were appreciated (beach chairs, towels, sunscreen, etc) and proximity to the Queens Bath trail was fantastic. Would definitely stay there again.

This place has everything, even bicycles to borrow! Private, quiet (hardly heard a rooster - three crows each morning was the end of it), great AC, plus ceiling fans and standing fans, kitchenette is well equipped. Recommend highly!

Management was up front about the in-unit laundry being out of service and we were provided with reasonable options. Everything was great.

PROS:
- It was the right size for a couple; the point of going on vacation isn't to "lie around the VRBO all day" - this place was a perfect landing pad every night after a long day of adventuring and beach activities.
- LOVE the outdoor shower so much that my first shower back home was downright depressing
- Hosts provide you with beach chairs, towels, bug spray, and sunscreen: everything you need to go lie around on Hanalei Bay beach
- Rental was right down the street from our friends' rental, the convenience and privacy was just what we needed (Gen X whining here: I am too old to share a house with lots of people!)
- It was spotless when we checked in!
CONS:
- If you're someone who is affected by light, bring an eyemask to sleep in, there is a skylight in the bedroom.
- I had to go home to my dreary mainland life at some point. No fault of the hosts, of course.

Close to everything Princeville has to offer in a great neighborhood. Value for the price.

Perfect location for a small family
My husband and I stayed here with my 2 year old and it was perfect for us! Private, clean, safe, and close to lots of beaches and shops. There was even a high chair and toys for my daughter.

Easy check in process, lots of accommodations/extras - towels, chairs, boogie boards, toiletries, bikes etc. Located in a nice neighborhood. The unit is essentially a refinished garage and has everything you’d need in a VRBO unit for 2. Loved the outdoor shower. Location is also a short drive to several beaches and restaurants. Would recommend!

This spacious one bedroom place is extremely well maintained by Susan. She has made it into a quite comfortable place to stay with beach gear, nice bikes, small kitchen appliances, and other nice touches. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that this is not a luxurious property. It's rustic and it's back in the trees with no views. If the price is right and this is what you are looking for then it's great!

Loved it! A perfect home-base for us to explore Kauai
My fiancé and I spent the most magical two weeks in Susan's place! It was our first time on the north shore of Kauai and this ended up being an absolutely incredible place to stay, in possibly the most beautiful place in the entire world- Kauai.
First, I should say we are Airbnb Superhosts at home and have very high standards, and this ended up exceeding our expectations. It was an adorable place with a super convenient location for making the most of our trip to the island.
We arrived late from the airport, but it was easy to drive to (there is only really one main road from the airport). There was a parking place for our rental car right outside the house as well. Once at the place, we found bikes, boogie boards, snorkel gear, sunscreen, bug spray, ponchos, water shoes in different sizes, fully stocked kitchen (I cooked a ton!), yoga mats, towels... basically everything we needed to feel comfortable and explore the island!
The house is a quick walk to the famous Queen's Bath, where we would go and watch numerous sea turtles(!!) feeding on the seaweed and swim in a beautiful natural pool surrounded by black lava rocks. A 5 min bike ride is Hideaway Beach, a super secluded and drop dead gorgeous beach where we would snorkel, surf and watch more turtles swim around the coral. There was also a cliff overlooking the reefs and ocean where we watched the most beautiful and colorful sunsets most evenings. From Princeville, it is a quick 10 min drive to Hanalei, where more amazing beaches and beginner to pro surf spots are located. We rented boards for our entire stay and just kept them at the house.
The house itself was a spacious one-bedroom, with an extra outdoor dining patio. There is a large couch, dining table and a daybed in the living room, which gave us plenty of space for working remotely (it was a working-vacation). Another thing I loved was the amount of refrigeration and freezer space, since we bought a lot of fresh fruits and veggies and things that a tiny fridge wouldn't fit. We ate all of our breakfasts out on the outdoor dining table- where the garden, and flowers surrounded us against the spectacularly green & luscious Kauai mountains (think Jurassic Park, or the TV show Lost).
We also asked many questions of Susan who got back to us right away and was extremely kind and patient with us.
This place is absolutely magical; we can't recommend Susan's place highly enough!!!

This rental looks much better as advertised online. It's just ok, kind of run down for the price. Property manager was nice but communication was slow when we wanted to extend our stay which caused worry. I liked the outdoor shower but it wasn't comfortable early mornings or late nights when it was chilly and it wasn't private enough for my husband to use with comfort. I was looking forward to the bikes and additional amenities but they were junky and went unused. The fridge was LOUD but there was a note to unplug if it bothered us, we still didn't unplug because we didn't want our food to spoil. If you are simple and on a shoe string budget then it's worth the stay.

Double booked!
One star review as I was unable to stay at this property due to being overbooked. Walked into a gorgeous space that was...altrady filled with someone's stuff. Communication was great and everyone involved did their best to rectify the situation. Not exactly the best start to a vacation as we ended up in what is essentially the Boca Raton part of the island due to this error.

Perfect, peaceful Hawaiian bungalow!
We felt at home immediately. The property was exactly as advertised. Susan is a wonderful and friendly host and she takes extra care to supply a lot of extra touches. We spent 4 nights and then headed to a luxury resort on the south coast. We missed our little bungalow immediately (and are still missing it. We're already planning our next trip back!

Comfortable Hawaiian bungalow.
Loved the location of the property! It felt like a home away from home. Able to cook a few meals here, comfy bed and great amenities provided. (Beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, bikes, etc.) This has been a very memorable vacation. Kauai is an unbelievable island! There is beauty abounding!

Perfect Kauai hideaway
This was exactly what we were searching for! Private, comfortable, homey, and had all the amenities you need for an amazing stay on the island. The outside shower was clutch, bed was very comfortable and kitchen well stocked. We loved picking fresh papayas from the garden and spending our evenings gazing at the stars. Thanks again Susan! Such a great stay. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we’ll be back!

So Pleased!
So pleasantly surprised to find such a Diamond in the midst of the Princeville Resort Community. Quiet and serene. Just what we needed for a private get away from it all. Couldn't have found a more PERFECT place than this.....

Great, convenient and comforting location on the North Shore
This place was great for my husband and I. It was the perfect alternative to resorts and condos that we were looking for. It’s located in a quiet cul-de-sac neighborhood in Princeville. It’s a 10 minute drive to the town and beautiful beach of Hanalei and a few miles further to good snorkeling at Tunnels and Ke’e beaches.
The property owner was responsive and helpful when needed, but we didn’t ever meet her in-person because we didn’t have any problems during our stay.
The suite itself is attached to a larger house which is inhabited by another tenant, but we never saw or heard them during our nine-day stay. It’s small but spacious enough for two. The makeshift kitchen worked fine for us and the outdoor shower was our favorite part of the place. There is no AC in the suite, but plenty of fans to keep air circulating and comfortable. It’s not a fancy place, but well-appointed, nicely decorated and very comfortable. It was affordable for the pricy North Shore and Princeville location. I would choose to stay there again in the future.

Nice place in a great location in Princeville!
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The property was exactly as described. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The property was incredibly clean, nicely appointed and in a fantastic location. We enjoyed having all of the beach gear to use; beach chairs, umbrella, snorkeling gear, towels. Everything was in good condition. We also enjoyed having the bikes available to take rides around the neighborhood.
We loved the outdoor shower. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The location was very close to Queen’s Bath and Hideaways Beach wasn’t far at all.
I would definitely stay here again. For our first time in beautiful Kaua’i we found a real gem in this place.

Quiet, clean, calm, and great location
Great place to stay, we love the north shore. Quiet neighborhood but close to everything we wanted to do. The space takes a while to cool down at the end of the day, but once we had the fans going for a while we slept great. The outdoor shower and amenities provided were amazing. Susan was very responsive and helpful.

Wonderful stay in Princeville
We thought this apartment was perfect. It was comfortable, clean, quiet, and well stocked with everything we needed during our stay. We loved the outdoor shower (which was very private — it is both fully enclosed and also surrounded by bushes), the airiness of the place, the comfortable bed, and kitchen. We also appreciated all the outdoor supplies like snorkels, boogie boards, etc. If we are lucky enough to return to Kauai, we will definitely stay here again.

Home Away from Home
We felt very at home at Susan’s place. Loved the sounds of nature and proximity to so many things. Queen’s Bath was a highlight (just down the street!), as well as snorkeling (with the snorkels provided) at nearby Anini Beach. We hiked some great trails around the area and were happy to be less than 15 minutes away from Hanalei and Kilauea. We liked that it felt like a home and not a resort.
Susan was very responsive and an incredibly generous host to us. Definitely recommend this spot!

Cozy suite close to beaches
Loved our stay at Susan's suite! Close to many cool beaches and the shops at Princeville. And it came with everything we needed for enjoying our outings each day (including bikes!). Susan was very helpful and caring during our stay. It was great!

Sufficient One Bedroom Suite
The One Bedroom Suite was quite sufficient for my 8 night stay. Although in a Princeville residential area it is centrally located for "outings" to the many attractive activities on Kauai's North Shore( especially Hanalei and Anini Beach). The kitchen/living room areas have good space as my lady friend enjoyed cooking several dinners. An added attraction was the spacious outdoor shower( separate, but connected to the bathroom) and the variety of the "beach toys" provided to guests. The host, Susan, was very helpful in answering a few questions I had. M y lady friend and myself will return again to this suite. Les

Great place, lots of amenities
A wonderful place to stay in Princeville. Very close to Queens bath, lots of amenities that were fantastic (bikes, beach chairs, umbrella, bug spray sunscreen, boogie board, well stocked kitchen). Very comfortable brand new furniture, and a very nice open-air feeling in the whole place.

Nice place to stay
Beautiful place with a few quirks. The home itself is very nice. It is clean. Susan accommodated an early check-in, which was really helpful. She was available for the questions we had. Going on a bike ride was a definite perk! Kitchen was nicely set up, and the nice big fridge was a definite plus. Mirrored closet space was awesome.
Here's the quirks: It was a bummer to realize one of the snorkels was broken only when we were out on the water. Washer and dryer is actually a washer/dryer combo which doesn't fully dry clothes. Private outdoor shower, yes, but only if nobody is back there. Grounds workers and exterminator walking around made for a less than private shower experience. The outdoor shower doesn't drain properly, so any and all products go straight into the ground. Biodegradable products are advised. Bed appears to actually be a full not a queen (not an issue for us but if you were co-sleeping it could be). Green towels bleed in the wash so don't put them with your laundry. No pool, even though it says there is on the post.
Overall clean and nice, just quirky details.
