Decent room, breakfast.
AC is good
Son was decent guy and seems to understand but Mother was concerned only about money all the time. Bacony is just for the namesake. -wrong map on booking, showing the property right at the beach but actual property is 30 minutes walk away.
-wrong map even in the actual street on google maps.
- The contact number on Booking keeps ringing forever.
- There is another contact number written on the house (the number that gets picked up), but not mentioned on booking.
- Upon checking no concern to provide soap or towel in the room (deluxe room???) but asking for the full payment is a priority for mother.

Conseils et gentillesse du fils.
Vétusté du lieu. Propreté limite.
Accueil sec de la mère à l'arrivée. Pas très sympa après 4 h de route.
Cadre pas folichon, au milieu du linge de la famille.

Peaceful and quiet with easy access to both the beach and the backwater. Homely food and personal attention by the staff was a great attraction.

I had lovely stay at Vintage home stay. I was with a friend and we had two rooms. Deluxe roo was big and it had aircon. The standard room is too small and not easy to ventilate. Stay better room and enjoy Chenai with this lovely family.

The Bóg plusem is that u stay in the Wild side of real village, u can discover local village life, great family, very helpful in further plans, They serve a delicious dinner really worth it, great location close to the sea, clean pleasant room, nothing more is needed for a few nights to get to know the wild nature of Cherai unaffected by tourism.

The owners are a lovely family, who lives downstairs and the rooms are upstairs and very comfortable and clean. There is also a nice terrace where they serve the tasty, homemade breakfast and dinner (the mum is cooking :-)). The beach is just a few minutes away. The owner is very helpful. I enjoyed my stay a lot and can only recommend this homestay to everyone!

Everything was clean. Helpful hosts-arranged me scooter, and took me to bus station. Close to beach that felt almost private.

The host was extremely nice and welcoming. He gave us a lot of advice about how to get transportation around the area and was always willing to help and give advice on anything. His mom lives in the home and cooks meals (breakfast included in the room price was very good). She was very sweet and even offered us an umbrella so we wouldn't get wet in the rain! The room is clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The fan helped a lot with the heat.
I didn't enjoy that they were constantly trying to sell us things (this could just be a cultural difference with India). What we thought was kindness and just being very welcoming in the beginning (they brought us water and tea) ended up being services that they try to sell. The offered us food at "normal price" which we interpreted as homemade meals that would be inexpensive but in the end of our stay we got a very big bill (compared to local prices elsewhere) listing every single small item and plate of food at pretty high prices. In the end we paid about 600rupees per meal when you can get the typical MEALS in India for 50-60 rupees/person anywhere in the area. In this sense she feeling was not so much of homestay. They don't provide with soap or toiletries, the room doesn't have mosquito nets and they don't accept credit cards

Food served was authentic south Indian home made food. Was simple but very yummy and also at very reasonable price!
The sea beach was literally 2 min walk from the room and I felt it like my personal beach while bathing in the sea there , however, you can't bathe in the sea there if the sea level is increased due to rain etc. because it is a small beach.
The host and the family are friendly. They got autoriksha booked from next door for my drop to the bus stop when I left and helped me with my luggage to put in the autoriksha.
Well ventilated room.
Value for money and very convenient from many perspectives.
No wifi was there. That was the only thing. If they put wifi also then it would be awesome!
There was no mosquito net on the windows but the host gave me incense sticks to burn which worked well for me.

Clean room and value for money.
The lady at the property crossed the line many times. We are a mixed race couple and she was constantly telling me how it won’t work. She knew my wife couldn’t understand the language and intentionally repeated this nonsense. Out of politeness and I didn’t react to her in the beginning. But when I confronted her she pretended like she was just trying to be friendly.
We didn’t want to create an issue so we left the next day. Its such a shame as the property is lovely and close to the see. She cooked lovely food though.
Definitely not a place to go back.

House looks rustic but rooms were very modern. The bed was comfy. The hosts were friendly, polite and very hospitable. Their food was exceptional. The location is barely a few mins walk from the beach.
If I have to nitpick, I would say a geyser would be nice and a mirror over the bathroom sink

Very nice homestay !
Very friendly & helpful family & with a beautiful room upstairs of their home. It is an independent room with a terrace. The room is new & have all the comodity with a good bathroom. Very good & very happy with. The food ( dinner & breakfast) was very good. Lovely stay, home near the quiet beach.
I was biting all night by mosquito because I don't use fan / Aircon & open the window only to have some fresh air. A mosquito net could be put on the window for improve your room & have a better stay.

Amazingly clean, comfortable and friendly. You have absolute privacy due to the fact that the guest rooms are on the second floor and stand-alone. A table and chair to enjoy your food outdoors. Couldn‘t wish for more really. great value for money and the traditional homemade food is top notch. The whole family is very helpful!

Host were very friendly. Food in this property is homely and affordable. Parking could be a challenge of you go there by longer vehicle as it is in narrow street. mine was only under 4m so it was not a problem. Also we can park on the beach side which is just 100m from the property so in general I would not see it as a concern.
