Alavista is professionally managed by Sunset Properties. You must be 25 to rent this property. The recently renovated Alavista beach house sleeps up to 6 people comfortably. This cozy cottage has many windows, each of which boasts either an ocean or lagoon view. Boasting real ponderosa-pine walls and vaulted ceilings throughout, it is fully equipped with washer/dryer, large kitchen, dishwasher, lots of cabinets, refrigerator, oven, built-in microwave, and a dinette that seats 6. The living room has a queen size sleeper sofa and 55" LCD TV. Enjoy Internet TV such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube TV, local channels, etc. Each bedroom also has a flat-screen TV. The bathroom has a custom walk-in shower with ceramic tile and glass door. Includes free WiFi, covered parking and a private balcony. Beach access and a public boat launch are both just steps away. A convenience store and restaurant are also within walking distance. Located at 10th street and West Lagoon Avenue, this is a “no smoking” and “no pets allowed” cottage. Must be at least 25 to rent. Great location from the beach and surrounding attractions. House was a little outdated but very comfy. We did have a few issues with electrical plugs and several light fixtures not working but overall a pleasant stay.

I ignored the reviews... big mistake! Roaches,no wifi, shower leaks allover floor, soft spots in flooring, open sewage drain in laundry room, very few dishes an very few things to cook with , says priced lower to accommodate construction but you won't see anything being done finished or even started. The door doesn't shut properly sometimes making it hard to lock. Stairs in need of repair.

We did not stay at this property because it wasn't fit to stay in. However the group that owns this property made it right. They put us in a much much nicer place. So after that it was a great trip.

I came on a spring break getaway with my granddaughter and her other grandma. The location was wonderful. We went to the beach, shopped, and ate out in several places. Overall, we had a great time. The house itself was not a real positive. There was a large gap under the door that could let in lots of undesirables. There were mouse droppings in the cabinets and bugs in the kitchen. The toaster was rusty, and we didn't feel safe using it. Needless to say, we bought plastic and paper or ate our meals out. I hope to come back to Gulf Shores, but wouldn't stay in the same place.

It is on the small side but it worked well for my parents, my wife and I and our 17 and 9 year old daughters.

Good location, corner lot with no houses crowded up to this property so felt private, which is nice. House is comfortable and air conditioning works great; since we were there in July this was important. House is very sparsely provisioned though. No place to hang up wet bathing suits/towels. No shower head on outdoor shower. Only one lamp in living room. Water very rough on Gulf side/NOT good for small children/seniors. But lagoon side very calm with sandy bottom and little quiet beach.

Most electrical sockets don't work. AC was great. Toilet gave out on Friday, still out next day. Filthy cups, dirty microwave, dirty stovetop. No smoking allowed, but cleaning crew flicked long cigarette ash in sink. House itself was spotless. Needs major redo for $400.00 a night.

The house is comfortable. A work in progress. An easy walk to the beach and a short hop to the lagoon. There are a few electrical outlets that need some attention. Bring extra paper towels and toliet paper, trash bags,and dishwashing liquid.

we moved into a mold infested place the property management company missed the fact that the ac ducts below the house we saturated and created a mold infested environment. our 1st 2 employees moved out after 2 days, sick as dogs, coughing. we got a hold of the owner. he hired us to fix everything. we did. cleaned up the yard and completed many repairs. location is awesome. its an old school house but much better now! we are back for another month for finalize it all for the next renters. property managers should do better.

We had a great time! The hurricane displaced us from fort Morgan this trip so this house wasn't our first choice. The location was great. The house its self needs some TLC, there were no lights in any of the rooms,half the outlets didnt work,there was no broom to sweep up the sand during the week,and there were bugs everywhere in the kitchen (probably due to the storm). We are grateful for still being able to come and stay. Thank you ☺

Family vaca
This was our summer trip with me, my husband and 2 girls. They are 6 and 11. The property was in a perfect location for walking. We loaded up the wagon and we were at the beach within 3 minutes. The girls loved having their own room. The kitchen was open and spacious. The laundry room downstairs was a great place to store the wagon after getting back from the beach. Overall, this house was super!!!!

The condition & esp the “closed up smell” of the home were very disappointing, esp for the price. Also the huge cockroaches in the laundry room under the home are unsanitary & unpleasant. We won’t be able to use it & we needed it for our stay. There was garbage all over the yard & people walk their dogs in the yard apparently thinking it is abandoned & don’t pick up after. The bedding also smells of the closed up musty smell. There was no indication or informing of us of the construction going on literally outside the thin windows of the home on the entire road- mainly by the home, at time of booking or on subsequent emails. Nor did we expect ALL vehicles utilizing this road speeding and bouncing over the dip & gassing their vehicle after it in the road IF they slow over it. Nor were we aware not only how busy this road was (used to bc we live in a city), but the real problem is the busted up concrete dip directly in front of the home where ALL vehicles speed (I have videos) and are mostly large & the hired work trucks & county trucks with no slow work signs or bump/large dip signs posted. If they do slow down to not bottom out on the road- they punch their gas on their large trucks after the bump which is just as bad.
My husband notified the police last night of the speeding with it a 25mph zone (or less) road and also construction site & NO signs. Today the air conditioning is acting up & we haven’t set it below the recommendation except 1 degree maybe once or twice before today’s sun. It keeps clicking on & off. Worked well until today. The water below the home doesn’t work to wash off sand & dirt before entering the home. Then shortly ago today- we get a notice hung on the door right after I see the worker & walked in they were cutting our water for 12+hrs. This all is just a drop in the bucket...

Good location
House was in a good location within a short walk to canal or beach. Good size for a family of four. Quiet neighborhood just off main road. It could use a little updating (minor maintenance) and a deep cleaning, but wouldn’t rule out staying again.

Gulf Shores
Was overall ok. Not great, not bad. Washer and dryer was outside which is not mentioned in description. No outside water hose to rinse yourself off after getting off the beach. Good beach access, and the lagoon is right behind the house which is nice.
