About this apartment rental

Summary: Family-Friendly Affordable Mountain Chalet. Positioned on the edge of Canmore, our condo is perfect for a quick getaway to the National Park, yet still within walking distance to great restaurants and bars. It offers a simple, clean space for families and groups of friends. Spacious living room w/ 50" TV (with cable and Netflix), high speed internet, & lovely gas fireplace will help you wind down from a day in the mountains. Well-equipped kitchen & dining room for 6. Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms, or 6 with the sofa bed. The Space: The condo is located on the outskirts of Canmore, away from the noise and bustle of the main tourist condo area. Legacy Trail to Banff is right out front. All this yet only 5-10 minutes walk to quality restaurants (Sage Bistro, Crazyweed Kitchen). Downtown is a 15-20 minute walk away, or 5 minutes by car. 15 minutes drive will get you to Banff, and 1 hour to Calgary. This home-away-from-home comes complete with high speed internet, good quality furniture and hotel-quality linens and towels. It's not super fancy, but it is affordable and comfortable! We love where we live, and we love to share it with guests, so when you stay with us we welcome you properly, with added touches such as freshly roasted local coffee and locally made toxin-free amenities by Rocky Mountain Soap Co, including Rosemary and Mint shampoo and conditioner, and Lemongrass body wash. The fully equipped kitchen comes complete with local Eclipse coffee, tea, milk, cooking oils and condiments. For the warmer months there is a quiet, secluded outdoor patio sheltered by beautiful mountain ash trees. This is an older condo complex, but don't let the exterior fool you - the inside has quality furnishings and is kitted out to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The entire chalet is cleaned using only eco-friendly cleaning products (no nasty chemicals here!). 100% natural and toxin-free! We’re here to make sure your holiday is hassle free. Best suited to 4 guests in two bedrooms (2 queen beds) but easily accommodates an extra two people on the new sofa bed (with memory foam mattress) in the huge living room. Canmore offers loads of opportunities for the adventurous and serene alike. Hike, bike, climb, ski, white water raft or canoe, and when you need a little downtime, settle down with a picnic blanket and a book in a park besides the river in summer, or cosy up on the sofa with a cuddly blanket in winter. Please note, there is a train line through the centre of Canmore, and most legal vacation accommodation in Canmore is close to this line. It does run behind the end of the complex, making it perfect for the little (or big) person in your family who loves trains! The trains run infrequently (around 5 per night). If you are a light sleeper we recommend bringing some earplugs along so your night is not disturbed. In our opinion, the train is less intrusive than a busy road, but we do want you to know about the proximity before you book. Guest Access: Guests have sole access to the entire chalet. The Neighborhood: Bow Valley Chalets is located on the main retail/hotel strip in Canmore. Local buses run past the door, with connections to Banff. Legacy Trail (awesome paved bike trail to Banff and beyond) is right out front. If you come by airport shuttle the stop is just up the road (catch a cab, it's a little far to walk). There are restaurants close by, and the supermarket is a 10-minute walk at most. Downtown Canmore is a 15-20 minute walk away, as is Elevation Place, Canmore’s amazing recreation centre. Mt Norquay Ski is 15 minutes away, 30 minutes to Sunshine Village and 45 minutes to Lake Louise. Getting Around: Canmore is small and easy to get around on foot, by car or by public transit. There is public transportation around Canmore, and to/from Banff. Information about Canmore and Banff Roam Transit service will be in the chalet when you arrive, or you can look it up online. All of the ski hills are serviced by public transit that runs just outside the door (with connections through Banff). Other Things to Note: Outdoor parking for one car is provided on the property, in spot #114. The parking spot is best suited to a small car, but there's other guest and tenant parking at the end of the drive, so if you do have an extra car, there is usually plenty of extra room. Interaction with Guests: We are professional vacation managers who live in town and will happily offer as much or as little support as you need during your stay. Talk to us for advice on hiking, biking, skiing, restaurants etc. If you need specific equipment for your stay that you don't want to buy, get in touch and we'll see if we can help.

We had a wonderful time exploring and hiking the Canadian Rockies! We were happy we chose Canmore because Banff was so crowded! This condo is comfortable and had everything we needed. The only negative would be the train that is close by and runs often, but with my earplugs I slept through it. Also, it is in town but we were never bothered by the people nearby. My only suggestion would be to provide a throw to cover with while lounging. Overall, we really enjoyed it!

Great location as a base to explore the Banff, Jasper and Kootnay National Parks. A cozy apartment located in Canmore and is close to restaurants and much less crowded that Banff. We stayed for 3 nights and will stay again since we were not able to go to Calgary.

This property was very nice. It was well fitted out with only a few things missing that would have been nice. There was only one glass wine glass and a serrated knife for slicing bagels would be good. Also there was no large bowl that could have been used for salad. These are very small things easily fixed. When we needed to contact management the phone was answered quickly and by a very nice friendly person who helped solve the problem very well. The lighting at first appeared to be very dim but was fine in the evening for sitting and playing games. Overall we had a very nice stay and would go back.

Our stay at the Bow Valley Chalet was okay. The unit is definitely dated; but if all you want is a bed and bathroom, then this is the unit for you. The floors weren't clean as the bottom of my socks were coated brown by the end of our first evening there. The kitchen floor had been quickly swept as I found hair and crumbs on our first night. The beds are a basic spring mattresses; nothing special but they are firm. My son did find blood on one of his pillow cases a couple nights in as he didn't inspect all the pillows when we arrived. I emailed the hostess to let her know upon our leaving but didn't hear back. Otherwise, she was always quick to respond and answer when we messaged her. I wouldn't stay here again because the unit can use some love and care. Multiple cracks in bathroom fixtures; the beds were uncomfortable and the train was very loud. You need to sleep with the windows open in the summer as the unit can get to 30 degrees Celsius during the day. It's also on the north end of town; a good walk to downtown and the stores.

Very clean and comfortable place to stay - we were 5 adults and we were very happy with the property, it’s location, and the host. Highly recommend it for a great place to base yourself for a visit to the Canmore/Banff area
