It is the perfect retreat for those wishing for a quieter location, but not remoteness…less than a 5-minute drive to the sandy beach in Netarts and within walking distance to the 2 small grocery stores and coffee shop right there in the community of Netarts. If you drive 5 minutes North of the house, you will be in the charming village of Oceanside and have an unbeatable view of the 3 Arch Rocks. With its abundant light and open floor plan, the home’s main floor is perfect for entertaining friends and family. Wifi and cable TV are provided! A gas fireplace creates a relaxing ambiance, while the large windows frame lovely tree-filled views with the ocean and horizon beyond. Sink into comfortable furnishings while watching a favorite movie on the flat screen TV or enjoying some down time with a good book. For the chefs in your group, the thoroughly equipped modern kitchen will not disappoint. The dining table seats 6 and there are 4 more seats at the bar height counter. The house has 3 bedrooms that can comfortably sleep 8 guests. There is 1 bedroom on the main/entry level floor with a king size bed and a breathtaking view of the bay and ocean. There is a full bathroom just outside the room. The master bedroom is upstairs and has a king size bed and en-suite. It also has a spectacular view of the ocean as well as Cape Lookout. The 3rd bedroom is across the hall and has a queen size bed, 2 twin beds and 2 twin trundle beds underneath. There is a full bathroom located in this room as well. Bring your beach clothes to layer for sunny or stormy weather. No matter which, be ready for fun-filled days. Watch the sun set over the ocean, take a long deep breath and exhale. Welcome to your home away from home - The Vista House! ***Note: Up to 2 dogs are welcome, but there is an additional $65 fee. ***Note, $35 damage insurance is already included in the cost of your stay. My husband and I have traveled for many years and we both agree this is one of the best houses we have ever rented. Very clean, nice decor, comfy beds, nice linens, a complete kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal, privacy and quiet and a view of the ocean and bay that is awesome!!! (And the windows are clean....this is a plus). We saw wildlife, birds and fishing boats that were crabbing...fun to watch from the privacy of your house ! Would highly recommend this home. We plan to return.

From the start of the rental experience, Sarah from Shore Thing answered the phone for every call, making sure we felt like we were the priority. We received quick confirmation of our rental and had no issues getting in to the house with our last minute reservation. The stay was everything she had explained, the view was amazing, the house was loaded with everything needed for the stay and very well accommodating for pets. We spent 4 nights here for Thanksgiving with our family. Stunning view with lots of entertainment in the bay below! It accommodated 6 of us very well with plenty of privacy. Great kitchen and dining space. And we were all impressed with how clean everything was, especially the windows! We will definitely be coming back.

Wow, our stay at the Vista House was exceptional. Everything is top notch, starting with the view and extending to everything within the house itself. Views of the beautiful bay from the back deck are outstanding, windows are perfectly positioned to capture the view from the family room and bedrooms. Appliances, utensils, furniture, and bedding are high quality and are all in great condition. The house is clean and very comfortable. Sarah, our contact at Shore Thing Rental, was friendly, helpful, and responsive to the couple questions we had. Our entire experience was exceptional, we’re going again for sure!

Like everyone else, we enjoyed the views and had our own sanctuary from the larger home rented to house the bulk of our family reunion gathering. This home is more spacious than the photos show, with the main floor including everything a couple would need, including a bedroom with king bed and two baths, kitchen with good cooking tools, living room, amazing deck and view. The upstairs has an additional two huge bedrooms and two baths. The deck and a small grassy area are nicely contained with a glass railing and fence, with a larger yard outside of the fence. All was clean and comfortable, with a fabulous view from the hill top overlooking the Netarts bay. The walk down the hill to the beach (maybe a half mile or so) is a zig-zag street through a nice and quiet neighborhood. In the other direction a short trail at the end of the street, staying on the top of the hill, loops through some woods. We had a wonderful stay.

We loved our stay at this property. The views are phenomenal! It was a great space for 5 of us -- four adults and one child. The common areas were perfect for spending time together and playing games and bedrooms and baths were comfortable. Rental staff made check in easy and were very helpful when we needed a bit of assistance. Everything was clean and the property was well-kept, though linens and towels could use an update. We would absolutely stay here again if we return to the area and definitely recommend!

We LOVED our stay at The Vista House. The location was perfect with sweeping views from multiple rooms. The house was clean and well maintained. We appreciated that there was a small patch of fully fenced lawn and that the deck could be closed off making it safer for our dog and our toddler. A few lightbulbs were burned out which we let the property team know, and Sarah stopped by to change them out. This was totally unnecessary but so appreciated! We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We returned for spring break this year to find that all the things we loved the first time, were still present. The view is majestic from both floors of the house. We came with my parents and our two teens and there was plenty of room for all of us. It's hard to tear yourself away from the view this house provides. Even after a long day on the beach, coming back to the house is a highlight for me. What I love about staying here is the you feel like from the moment you arrive, you never leave the ocean. That's why it's so hard to say goodbye and why we will return again.

We loved our stay for our Christmas vacation. The house had everything we needed and was very clean. The floor plan was perfect for us, being 2 couples. It was so nice and quiet. Upstairs couldn't hear what was happening downstairs, and vise-versa. Having the small fenced in yard for our pups was so nice. We would love to come back again.

Truly great place to stay for 6 to 8 people. The view is unbeatable, and the home is well-equipped. We loved it. We would have liked it better with written instructions on how to find it. GPS doesn't work too well, and Tower Road has no street sign! Also, we would have appreciated a recliner or two instead of the easy chairs, but that is because we are all over 70. Highly recommend this home, and we may come back next year!

We loved our stay at the Vista House and were blessed with 60 degree sun all week in November! The Views from every room were the most incredible we have ever had, and we have rented countless beach homes. Truly and incredible space to rest and take in the beauty all day long.

Lovely stay! The views are incredible, easy walk down to the beach (well there is a big hill but it's great to be able to walk down to the beach) and close to town if you need to grab groceries, coffee or a bite to eat. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked a two week stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The house is comfortable and feels like home, the rental company and housekeeping staff quickly and professionally answered every text we sent.
I have no words to fully describe the view, upstairs and down. It was spectacular and every sunset was memorable. We even were able to see the Milky Way on clear nights.
We are in our 70s, traveling to the coast for our 53rd anniversary and the home was a great choice. We especially appreciated being able to park right in front of the front door.

View was stunning! Everything was clean except for some of the closets. House had everything we needed. My only criticism is that the furniture was pretty uncomfortable and not in the best condition, but it worked great for our annual crabbing trip.

The view was gorgeous, the kitchen was roomy; allowing several to work in the kitchen at the same time. The bedrooms were roomy and a view of the bay from each one! The deck was roomy and comfortably furnished. We loved this place and will use it again for sure!!

Pros:
Plenty of rest rooms, and sleeping space. View was beautiful, and yard was spacious. Plenty of room for our dog and kids to play. I think my favorite feature was the outdoor heated water hose line.
Cons:
None of the TVs worked, and seemed to be missing cords. There’s no (short) walkable access to the bay. Road up to the house is steep gravel, but the view makes it worth it. The hoses were close together but not noticeable. Although one of the house was doing construction during our stay so it made the day a little less relaxing than anticipated.

We enjoyed our stay in this house. It was very clean and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen well stocked. A few suggestions: change ALL the light bulbs in the house as they are a mess. The main chandelier had 6 sockets with 2 warm, 2 cool, and 2 out bulbs. The lamps and can lights had junky bulbs too. Some throw blankets on couch and beds are needed. It is a chilly area even in summer. The towels could use an upgrade as they are low quality. There were not enough washcloths provided. Also a few rugs (bathroom and bedrooms) would be good.
