The location was excellent! Right on the beach. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Needs some serious updating. The couches and beds are not the best for comfort if you plan on staying for the week, but a quick weekend away it works.

Loved Oak Island. Loves the view. Management Co was helpful. The unit looks like they bought out a thrift store. The owner has done a minimum effort in the unit. Make sure you read everything. They charge for linens. You literally have to rent sheets and towels!! Oh- no toilet paper either. They have done the absolute bare minimum.

Had to pay for our own linens, make and strip the beds. Furniture was uncomfortable and dated. Would not allow a change in reservation while the island was under hurricane and storm surge warning because an evacuation had not been ordered. For the price we paid would have been much better served to book a room through a beach hotel somewhere else and that is what we will do in the future. VRBO for a small family with all the added fees no longer makes financial sense.

Really wonderful place to stay! Super close walk to beach. Kitchen is fully stocked, it would be nice if condo had a broom or vacuum to use. The pool was closed all week, which was super disappointing since this was a reason for booking condo. Management was super responsive, really nice furnishings.

We stayed a building over last year and wanted a few extra days this year because we loved it so much so we added a few days here. Check in was seamless at the rental office. Got to the condo- there was an odor of cat urine or mildew. The place was very humid- our clothes were drying. The counter tops has cup rings still on them and our feet were black from walking on the floors barefoot. There was nowhere recommended or open to store beach gear, as compared to one we previously stayed in had downstairs storage. There was garbage still on the master floor and nothing is provided. We would have been better off staying in a hotel. The pool was also broken which put a damper as we have two small kids. The rental office was receptive to our feedback and did refund the cleaning fee. Do not recommend. The photos are deceiving.

Condo is a little outdated, but fine for what we needed. Cleaning crew could do a little better job as there was good in the freezer and dirty tissue on bathroom floor and dirty under beds. Overall good place to stay with good location.

The view from the rear deck is the real selling point for this property. During the day there is a nice view of the beach, as can be seen in the photos for the property. At night You can see the channel markers leading the way into the port in Wilmington and occasionally a ship or large boat passing through them. In most rental properties you can find a notebook with information describing how to operate the HVAC system, kitchen appliances, the television and WiFi codes. We never found one. While the stove and refrigerator appear to be new, without an instruction sheet it was difficult to know what setting the dishwasher was on since several of the indicator lights weren’t working. Despite having twice called Coastal Vacation Resorts (property management) leaving a message with questions about the property, we never got a call back from them. The mattress in the master bedroom is worn out and sags toward the middle of the bed. The toilet seat in the master bedroom is held together with white duct tape. Although this property is advertised as never been rented, there is some wear and tear that could easily be fixed, which makes me question the benefit of renting through VRBO and paying their fee. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, knives and dishes. Overall, the unit was clean and the furniture arrangement matched the photographs. We only found a couple of really dirty dishes and utensils, which happens sometimes with rentals. The property is convenient to OKI municipal pier, grocery stores, and seafood markets.
