We decided on this home because it was in a central location to travel to Traverse City as our daughter was running the Bay Shore Marathon. Close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Glenn Arbor and other peninsula locations. It was perfect for that….easy drives to all locations. We were not sure how we felt about booking a place out in the country. We quickly fell in love with the house and the peacefulness of its setting. We had all age groups with us and everyone agreed that we loved the location! The house is absolutely beautiful and the hosts thought of everything you might need. The beds are super comfortable, bathrooms are very nice and kitchen is well stocked. The outdoor patio/gazebo is so nice for sitting outside with really cool lights and the 2 person swing was a big hit with all. The kids enjoyed having lots of room outside to run around and everyone enjoyed the bean bag game they provided! The hosts are super attentive…they even have a notebook they made up with the history of the house including pictures. Very interesting. We would absolutely stay there again, it was wonderful…better than we ever imagined!

House and location were perfect. We picked a great time if year and because of the location of the property we're were able to see a good deal if the sights. Highly recommend this property.

What a beautiful home! We loved it so much we didn’t want to leave. Seriously if I could live here I would. The cleanliness was top notch, very roomy, and had everything we needed. The area was nice, secluded and spacious. Just a lovely lovely home.

I truly cannot say enough about this place. The home is immaculate. It has every modern convenience and tons of preserved history. The property owners are responsive, personable and have thought of everything. It is perfectly situated allowing easy drives to Frankfort, Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes If you are looking for a place to enjoy your vacation and make wonderful family memories, look no further.

I was impressed from the minute we drove in!! The house was absolutely gorgeous inside and out and it fit our family of nine perfect! It was more beautiful than the pictures and was remarkably clean! We loved the patio and the fire pit area! Enough seating for everyone and we enjoyed the peace and quiet and the beautiful sunsets and stargazing and sitting around the fire pit. I can’t say enough about the kitchen we all were really impressed with how beautifully remodeled it was! Check in was flawless and our host was responsive. I would go back again and recommend it to anyone. Check out time was a little early and forced us to hustle a bit other than that our stay was absolutely perfect. Five stars is not high enough rating I would give it more!!

The Ivy House is beautifully and tastefully restored and decorated. The private location is very relaxing and yet close enough to the area attractions. Communication with the owner was positive, professional and prompt. I would strongly recommend this property and would absolutely stay again!

Ivy house is well located close to Sleeping Bear Dunes NL, peaceful, pleasant, well equipped and very clean. Sandra was very helpful and we appreciate her warm welcome. We spent very good time around the fire pit.

What can we say, The Ivy House was the most enjoyable stay I have had to date. Sandra was an excellent host, the house was spotless and the accommodations were spot on! Extra comfy beds, more than enough room and the kitchen.... LOVE! The maple syrup was a lovely touch. We didn't want to leave but we will be sure to stay here again if we ever get back to Upper Michigan. Thanks!!

Close to villages, beaches, trails, Moomers (have to look it up), Farm to Table restaurants (Farm Club), 9 Bean Rows, shopping, numerous outdoor activities. Did I mention Moomers? Our family has been coming to the Leelanau County area for over 30 years. We have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s, Inns, B&B’s, hotels. You will not be disappointed staying here!

The laundry room is so useful for longer stays and I wish my washer and dryer worked so well! The kitchen is well stocked and we had no issues at all with cooking our meals and having containers to store them in. The location of The Ivy House is absolutely perfect, a short drive to anywhere on the m-22, grand traverse lighthouse is 45 mins away, TC and everything it offers is between 15-25 minutes. We absolutely felt at home the second we walked in. Sandra was extremely easy to contact and I enjoyed our conversation. I am grateful we got to stay here and we hope to make it a family tradition of visiting Michigan and staying here at The Ivy House together if they will have us. It was truly lovely. Thank you, Sandra, for all of your hard work on this home. It’s beyond beautiful. We are already looking forward to coming back.

As soon as we entered the home it smelled brand new and was clean. The sun filtered in throughout the house making it very welcoming with amazing window views and NO neighbors for complete privacy. It was great that the bedrooms were spread apart; 2 upstairs and 2 in the basement so if you woke up early you could make noise in the kitchen on the main level without disturbing anyone getting breakfast ready or watching TV in an adjoining room. It was also great to have 3 bathrooms one on each floor so no one was waiting which kept us all on schedule to get out quicker for whatever we had planned for the day. The outdoor seating area was cozy with a gazebo (not shown in pictures when we booked so a delightful surprise) that provided shade and was light up with solar lighting that made it a dreamy area for gathering at night. It included a table for outdoor eating and plenty of extra seating away from the table including a swing bench with beautiful potted surrounding plants. Total relaxation inside the house or out with plenty of room everywhere!!! It also included air conditioning which a lot of places do not included which was a huge bonus and a necessity when I was booking. Who wants to come home tired from playing to a hot house? The home is close to everything you want to do from the Bear Dunes to all the small friendly towns with shops, kayaking, beaches or Traverse City. No matter which direction you go everything is close and easy driving. A couple of very minor suggestions would be to offer one pre-filled coffee filter as we had to drive 12 hours and did not have time to get groceries that night so morning coffee would've been great. Also I'm a light sleeper and some of the doors needed greasing as they creaked when others were up during the night. I have no small children but I thought that it was brilliant that there was a sliding door to close off the downstairs for those that do for extra safety. My husband and I are both from century farms and Sandra did an amazing job decorating her home for others to enjoy - absolutely beautiful! She left us a note on the fridge with her telephone number in case we needed something but everything was perfect so not needed. Our adult children and us all decided that this was the best place that we've ever stayed!!! Thank you Sandra for an amazing vacation! We hope to come back.
