We're a senior couple who found this location for a weekend stay visiting friends to be a good value. You should be aware that there is a climb up steps to the property and the unit is in the basement of the property, as the listing accurately states. There is no TV if that matters to you. The close proximity to Bethesda center and the Metro was a big plus. For breakfast try the Tastee Diner. We had a very nice dinner at Black's Bar & Kitchen.

The property was great for our week stay, and was as promised. The neighborhood was super nice and very quiet. We would totally recommend Marie's place and would stay there again.

Clean and cozy
They've put a surprising amount of functionality into the small kitchen area
Walk to NIH is short, and you get to see a bunch of people playing with their dogs on the way

This location is perfect! Just outside of downtown so you don’t have to listen to sirens and construction. The interior has been modeled as a perfect, cozy basement apartment with nice lighting! Free street parking and a private access are a bonus! The home and neighborhood were beautiful, I even ran into two bunnies during my stay as I walked to and from my car. Marie was a wonderful host, very friendly and responsive! I had to end my stay early due to a family emergency and Marie was totally understanding and kind! I will definitely try to book this place anytime I’m back in the area! Thank you, Marie!

Marie was very nice. The bed was definitely not as big as a queen, as indicated in breakdown of the rooms. We were a little surprised at no TV at all, but none was promised in the listing.

We were very happy with our rental. The neighborhood is a quiet residential area just outside downtown Bethesda. Easy access to shopping, groceries and dining. The apartment is fully supplied with appliances and dishes for cooking. Marie is readily available to assist if any questions or problems arise. The only concern I had was apparent need for a deep clean in the shower and the floors which is why I knocked off point in my overall rating. Otherwise, 5 star.

I had a short trip to the NIH. The property is very close and although I'd need to take a taxi to gain guest access to the facility, I was able to easily walk back to the unit when leaving the NIH. Also within walking distance to restaurants. The unit is cute and well designed, the neighborhood is safe and beautiful, and Maria has excellent communication. As some reviewers have mentioned, the utilities inside are a bit loud during the night so if you're a light sleeper this may not be ideal.

We stayed one night and the stay was perfect. The kitchen is small and amazingly well equipped. Great use of space.
Space is located in the basement and there is a bit of sound from residents above. But mostly very quiet and peaceful. Also, did not feel like a basement - open, bright and well organized.
I would love to stay longer and read through the library.
Host was responsive and helpful.

I had a comfortable overnight stay. I didn’t end up using the kitchen but it looks quite well equipped, and I took a shower. The bed is rather small and I don’t think it would’ve been comfortable for two people, but it was great for one. The space smelled a bit musty but looked clean.
