This house exceeded our expectations! The bedrooms were much larger than we thought and the property is on a great part of the Lake Murray! The water is a bit calmer near the house and the view is incredible. We rented a boat for 4 of the 7 days, which was perfect! We got plenty of time to explore, hang out on Sandy Beach, Wake board and loved seeing all the Purple Martin Birds gravitate to Bomb Island on evening boat cruise. It is a sight to see. The kitchen is fully equipped and the open floor plan on on the main floor makes you feel apart of whatever is going on when cooking. The back porch is inviting (porch swing) a lot of seating and very comfortable. The town of Chapin is close so a grocery store is nearby...but honestly we brought all food with us and had great meals around the large kitchen table. We are an active family and like to walk/run in the am. There are many neighborhoods near by to run/walk and explore however the main road is fine to walk short a mile or two. The wild life is beautiful... birds/ deer/ turtles/ fish. The beds were extremely comfortable and communication of the owners was prompt. We will be going back for sure. Not one complaint!

We had a lovely week at Lake Murray! Tom and Angie's home was well suited for our large family! Everyone had their own space! We loved cooking all our meals in the beautiful kitchen! We had an interesting unexpected storm come through early in our stay and had great communication with the owners about items that may need to be replaced due to storm damage. We loved spending time in the lake and appreciated all the things that were available for us to use while enjoying the lake! Another wonderful family vacation in the books!!!

We have rented three homes on Lake Murray and never been disappointed; however, Tom & Angie's place is easily our favorite. We all agreed that it's even BETTER than the online listing! The kitchen is, without a doubt, the best stocked EVER - if you want to cook in this kitchen (and we did a lot), you will find EVERYTHING you could possibly need - and you won't need to look long. Host was very responsive. This was truly a great experience, and we hope to visit Tom and Angie's place again.

The property is absolutely beautiful and true to it's listing. You walk in the front door and immediately have a full view of the backyard and lake - stunning! We have stayed on Lake Murray many times and this house by far is the BEST! We had our adult children and our grandsons with us and it could not have been a better week. It was well supplied - more than expected, very beautifully decorated, clean, ample space for all of us. It was a wonderful family vacation week!

We came to celebrate our daughter's graduation from USC. The home is absolutely beautiful and we could not have asked for a better place to celebrate !!! From our first contact with Tom & Angie to make sure the home could accommodate the graduate's grandmother in a wheelchair, to check out they could not have been more helpful. Our daughter's friend who is staying one more year to get her masters is booking this house for graduation weekend next year because they liked it so much.

This home on Lake Murray SC is perfect for multiple couples to gather. Each bedroom having its own bathroom provides privacy while the spacious common areas give generous opportunity to relax and interact. Then of course there’s the gorgeous lakefront with stunning sunset views. Tom was very helpful before and during our stay. I recommend using this property for a family vacation, guest lodging for a wedding or graduation, or pulling a group of friends together.

I highly recommend this house for a getaway or lake vacation. We had 8 adults (4 couples) and everyone had their own king bed and bathroom. The house is very spacious, well-decorated, and comfortable - it exceeded our expectations from the pictures. The back yard, deck, and fire pit were perfect for a relaxing night right on the shore of the lake. Additionally, the owners were extremely responsive and accommodating. 5/5!

This property is amazing! What a wonderful location for groups or family members to gather. The owners have set the house up for pure enjoyment with spacious living areas (inside and out) and private bathrooms for each bedroom. The amenities in the kitchen were above and beyond our expectations and we loved having the covered porch for our low country boil. The view of the lake was so beautiful and could be enjoyed from almost every room in the house. The fire pit was perfect for making s'mores by the lake! One day was a complete rain out and we appreciated the assortment of games that were provided. We are already thinking about our next visit!

We had a wonderful 5 day stay for my nephew’s wedding. The weather even cooperated. The home has everything you could need for your family. The bunk room was perfect for the 4 grandkids with an assortment of toys & games for everyone. Each bedroom gave my grown kids & spouses privacy & space. The gate for the porch was perfect for keeping the little one safe. The property & dock gave plenty of room to kick a ball, run around or sit lakeside with the extra chairs. We were looking for a place for my family to stay for my wedding weekend. We needed a place big enough that we could also bring our dog. We were excited to find this place and it exceeded our expectations. It had plenty of room and was the most beautiful place. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future family lake visits!

The view 1st thing in the morning is absolutely breath taking. Absolutely amazing! The house was gorgeous as well.

We had a wonderful experience and would rent again! Our only concern was the coffeemaker is on its last leg. We had 12 adults who are all coffee drinkers and had struggles with both sides. But outside of that 100% satisfied and we worked through it and no one went without coffee. Thank you!

Perfect for family get together. Everything perfect. Very well equipped.. didn’t use outside much because of weather but love to revisit in summer. 5 star all around.

This was a bittersweet Christmas for my family but this home and the thoughtfulness of the owners went way beyond our expectations. It is evident that the owners want you to feel welcome and comfortable. We have stayed in many rentals and none compare to this. Many thanks to the owners for their kindness.

A lot of times I’ve booked a place that looks spacious but when you get there, it’s a bit more cramped than the pics suggested. This is one of the few times I walked in and my jaw dropped. It’s absolutely gorgeous. The property is well equipped and communication with the owner was easy. It’s a quiet neighborhood at the end of the street, so our stay was quite peaceful. And just a 15 minute drive will get you to civilization! Highly recommend. Thanks for letting us have our yearly get-together here!

What an incredible lake home! This is a wonderful property that is exceptionally clean and very spacious. The owners have thought of everything and provide a beautiful home for your vacation. A high quality, thoughtfully stocked, and beautifully decorated home. Hosts made us feel very welcomed and accomodated last minute weather related changes. The private bathrooms, generous sized rooms and very comfy beds and linens provided a wonderful respite and a chance to reconnect as a family. Thank you! Hope to back. Will be thinking of that expansive deck and sunset for quite a while.

This house was wonderful for 5 adult couples (and would have been fine for 6 couples). Nice bedrooms with large, comfy beds and private (en-suite) baths for each. Even the bunk room that we did not use has its own bath. Two bedrooms plus the half bath downstairs and four bedrooms upstairs (included the bunk room). Lovely back porch with nice furniture and BIG water views! Lots of room and comfortable furniture/ big TV in the living room with a big, well equipped, kitchen plus a nice gas grill on the back porch. We really did not use the dock or kayaks/ paddle boards but did enjoy the fire pit and the homeowners provided firewood. Lots of folding chairs available in the garage for extra seating outside. Linens and all other furnishings are top notch in this lovely home. We would highly recommend this house and hope to return. Owners are very responsive. Neighborhood is lovely with close by houses so guests need to be ready to be good neighbors which we enjoyed being for a long weekend stay!

This house is brand new and very nice! There was plenty of room for our family of 6 and our friends - a family of 5. The location is great, right on the lake and we recommend renting a pontoon boat while you are there. The owner was always available and checking in to be make sure we had everything we needed. It was a very nice vacation.

The house, yard, dock and lake were just right. Our group of 4 couples were in town for the USC/UGA football game. The Nykamp home was better than advertised. We had plenty of room, the house is in great shape and the amenities provided were all that we needed. We cooked several meals and had all the utensils, place servings and cookware we needed. Very good experience all around.

Once again pictures do not do the property justice. The house was absolutely beautiful and fit everyone's needs. We all loved having our own bathroom and the size of the bedrooms were more than large enough. It is a perfect location for watching sunrise/sunset's especially on the swing on the back porch. The kitchen is well stocked and Tom is not only nice but quick to help with any problems or answer any questions. We enjoyed our stay so much and had so many good things to say that we have friends that were not able to make it this year that will be staying next year for their family vacation. We have been touring lake for 10 years and when we make it back around to Lake Murray we will be staying here again.

Our family group consisted of 10 adults and 6 children. Plenty of room for everyone. The house has all the amenities you need, and the kitchen is well stocked. Even though there are nice restaurants nearby we cooked all our meals at the house. The open floor plan and separate sleeping areas gave each family their own area (very nice with little ones). The outdoor covered patio and lake view is wonderful. Plenty of fun for all ages. Communication with the owner was excellent. We had a professional photographer visit for family pics. Great memories for our family and we totally enjoyed our vacation.

This property has it all for a vacation rental from the stocked kitchen, comfy king beds, a private bathroom for each bedroom, an ice maker, outdoor toys including 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards, games, 2 couch areas, and an amazing covered porch. It was a Wonderful choice for our extended family vacation. The owners were very easy to work with as well. We were all very happy with this home!

We had four families stay in this home and it was the best environment! Each room has a large bed with en suite, making it perfect for families and couples. The views were gorgeous and it's a vacation that made many memories!

We stayed at the Nykamp lake house to celebrate an upcoming wedding with family and friends. Tom and Angie truly made us feel at home! We had the best time and would highly recommend the property to anyone!

This was our second year staying at this fantastic home. The owners could not have been more accommodating and friendly. The first year we prepared food for the week, not knowing what to expect. After our stay last July we realized that the only things we needed to bring were our clothing & smiles. There is a Publix nearby that has everything. Our family gets together for a week of relaxation and family bonding. We had an all-out Murder Mystery game and CornHole tournament, celebrated family milestone events, played many board games, put together puzzles, and swam right off the dock & the pontoon boat we rented. There was so much room in the home that the 13 of us + a dog were never stepping on each other's toes. One of my favorite highlights is napping on the porch swing. We would absolutely return!

I would give this vacation rental 10 stars. The property was outstanding, and the hosts are extremely attentive to their guests. We immediately rebooked for next year.
