We had a group of 7 for a long weekend . The house was immaculate and had everything we needed to relax a on the front porch, cook meals and sleep comfortably. This is a very well maintained property! We enjoyed the large dining table, front porch rocking chairs and the spacious living room. The privacy along with the East proximity into Apalachicola (5min drive) made this vacation property perfect!

Overall we had a great stay at our house. However there are a few things that took away from our experience the first being the check in process. Usually with VRBO you can go directly to the house but in this case we had to pick up a key and another rental agreement from the reality office. We were late check ins so the manager called me clearly annoyed. Next our upstairs shower was very dirty, hair on the walls from the previous guests and soap rings from their bottles were left. We had scorpions in the living room (crack in the front door) and finally they ask you not to charge your phones, tablets or laptops in the bedrooms because you could throw the breaker. As someone who uses their phone for an alarm this was the most annoying part. Overall the stay was fine but the property management company definitely needs to address some of their issues.

The house is in a secluded (for the time being) location. There are no other houses on this road. It is a quick trip to downtown Apalachicola. Beautiful open floor plan makes quality time with others a breeze. Cons: I didn't see the note about not plugging cell phones/laptops to charge in to the bedrooms until after I completed the rental. I'm not sure what the deal is there. It seriously says in the material to not plug devices into the bedroom outlets, or it will trip the breakers. Nevertheless, I was able to plug in and use my C-PAP without a hitch or tripping breakers. If this is truly an issue, it really needs to be addressed. Not being able to use medically prescribed equipment to aid sleep could be a major issue for others. I would highly suggest to bring your own pillows, as the ones provided are so terrible that neither my wife or I got a solid night sleep here. Even stacked three pillows high, they were flatter than the single pillow I have at my own home. No issues with the bed or bedding. I would suggest the owners look at upgrading the pillows. It would also be nice if the front porch was screened in and had ceiling fans. We really enjoyed our morning coffee there, but being Florida, the mosquitos quickly drove us back inside. Maybe we didn't see it in the kitchen cabinets, but a toaster would be a nice addition as well. Overall, minus the lack of sound sleep, I would stay here again (and bring my own pillows).

The house was very clean and well kept. The rooms were spacious, with plenty of shelves/drawers/closet space. It was quiet, a bit away from town, which is what we wanted. Each morning, we walked down to the Bay City Marina, about 1 mile round trip. We did a boat tour with Captain Gill Autrey, who was the property developer, and builder of that house. I asked him about the problem with charging cell phones in the bedrooms, and he just said there was a different kind of circuit breaker that couldn't handle the chargers. Also, my husband was really looking forward to launching his kayak from the boat launch, but at least 150 feet of the launch access was overgrown with water hyacinth, and it was all silted in, with only 6 -12 inches of water, no matter the tide. Despite this being the only house in the development, there were several cars that came in and out of there. Looks like one of the lots may have been resurveyed. The traffic didn't bother us, but seemed odd, since ours was the only house. There was trash at the far lots, so clearly people do come in there and hang out. We did not feel any threat from the traffic, and I would recommend this house, if you are looking for a spacious, quiet and very clean place to rent.
