Sandman Hotel

The price

The owner gave us the room key to room that was occupied at 1st. Then the TV didn't work and the room was filthy and smelled horrible. The blankets were full of stains and itchy.

Nice, clean, and very reasonably priced rooms with friendly staff.

I stayed on the first floor and felt very safe and comfortable. People in the neighbourhood were very friendly and welcoming, as were the staff at the hotel. As a huge added bonus, they did not require me to use/pay by credit card; they were more than happy to accept my cash money! My room was nice and big with a very comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities for a very reasonable nightly rate. Washroom/shower was very clean and there was plenty of hot water. Incredibly convenient location as it is walking distance to LAX and the Kia Centre. Lots of excellent restaurants/bars and stores nearby with a wide variety of food options. Lots of places nearby that are open late or are open 24 hours which is always very convenient, especially when one is traveling. There are also lots of murals/artwork and other landmarks in the area to explore, especially along nearby La Brae Ave. I definitely recommend this place for other travelers as a short-term or longer-term place to stay while visiting Los Angeles. If I ever have the chance to return, I will most definitely stay here again. Much appreciated. Thank you!

I had a blast the location was great had a liquor store next door so was wonderful

Everyone there was really friendly have very helpful were on top of everything.

Worst experience and they have bedbugs.

I did not like that I only could pay with cash. When I went to go lay down a bed bug was walking across the sheets. I killed it by setting it on fire because it wouldn’t die any other way, I told the staff and staff said I was lying that wasn’t the same big and that they were going to call the cops on me and was refusing to give me a refund. I told the staff that’s fine and I called the cops and they only gave me half of my money back stating I was there for a day, but I checked in 6PM & discovered the bedbug once I was going to get some rest at 10PM.

Nothing!!

It was an obvious scam and they were trying to make us pay more money for our reservation. This experience makes me question if I will use Booking.com for future bookings because it is terrifying to go to my booked and confirmed accommodation in the night and have them tell us that we had no reservation at first and then later that it was cancelled even though we never got a cancellation we have the confirmation number. We had no other option for accommodation and if we didn’t argue with the check in lady for half an hour then we would not have been able to stay there. The check in person was extremely rude and unprofessional.

Shahin at Sandman Hotel refused to honour the reservation and wanted to charge us double to give us a room that was booked on booking com. He claimed to do only cash bookings. So why is this shoddy hotel on booking.com? I arrived on time and did everything right. But was left with no room. He said there would not be any charges. There better not be any.

Seemed designed more for stays of one or two hours rather than nights

The receptionist was very nice.

To call this place 2 star would be generous. I was not happy about how I was told cash only and charged an extra $10 than what was quoted when I booked. Even after I showed the receptionist the confirmation with that price the only explanation I was given was "tax". Then the door didn't line up properly with the frame making it very cold at night. Perhaps the worst was being woken up at least four times during the night by the headboard in the room next to me rhythmically banging against the wall. To be fair I thought I had booked the sandman hotel not motel, so perhaps I had higher expectations to begin with.

If you need cheap place to stay with everything you need, go there and make fiends !

This was the best quality/price ratio in Los Angeles. The location is good to go everywhere in the city. The staff was lovely including the manager and the housekeeping crew. Friendly neighborhood and Randy’s donuts a few yards away to get morning coffee.

The only bad point was the cleanliness of the floor in our room. Our socks turned black after few steps in the room. Everything else was clean and the staff are very available.

Disgusting. We found bed bugs in our bed. Filthiest place I have ever been to. Don’t stay here.

Nothing. This place was disgusting top to bottom, the rooms were filthy and staff was rude. When we found bed bugs and showed a picture and the bug itself to the manager, he responded that he’s not afraid of bed bugs and that they will refund us the price of ointment from the pharmacy if we wake up with bites. He then tried to convince us it was a roach instead. He also said that room had been sprayed that morning so the bugs were all dead but we could see them moving. Shouldn’t have to pay that kind of money to sleep in a room with bugs, dead or alive.

Everything. We didn’t even end up staying there it was so bad. I highly recommend to never stay there.. we risked it knowing it’s reviews weren’t great but we aren’t a picky group and we can deal with a bit of uncleanliness if it means we get a good price but this was the worst i have ever seen. It’s not worth it trust me you’re better off spending a bit of extra money on something that won’t leave you with bed bug bites the next day..

They gave our room away without contact at 4pm because we hadn’t checked in right on 2. They didn’t understand how that was wrong to leave 2 16 year olds without a place to stay in a different country.

I don't even seeing the motel that much very little but the lady that helped me chicken was fantastic wonderful lady and so I'm getting this first attend don't expect a lot but she's wonderful to attend

The person that checked me in the lady was a sweetheart wonderful lady and all good and they were painting some of the room so it look better when you get there check it out and speech
