STEPS FROM THE SAND. BEAUTIFUL home in the heart of Carova Beach!
About this house rental
Nestled in Carova Beach, this attractive house for $764 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Beautiful semi-oceanfront designed for a complete and utter relaxing serene get away in the heart of wild horses community. It is a semi-oceanfront lot, and a quick easy walk or drive to the water. This beautiful home is perfect for your families get away. It offers 3 1/2 bathrooms (and a 4th outdoors) and sleeps a comfortable 12 people, in its large 4 bedrooms; two bedrooms with king beds with their own bathroom, 1 with a full over a full bunk bed with a full size trundle bed, and a fourth bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds. This home is ideally designed to comfortably house two families (ideally 8-10 people) because of limited living room seating. There is an 8 person hot tub; perfect for those relaxing evenings after putting the children to bed. 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended in this secluded vacation spot. I would not recommend if all you have is a sedan as you drive directly on the beach. This is a vacation you will never forget and you will want to come back every year. Driving distance to the park with picnic tables, charcoal grills and more fishing areas. There are local restaurants/bars located just a short 9 miles from this home and roughly 1 mile after you drive off the sand. This house is equipped with all your home typically would have. It has WiFi, a 65” TV, and 32” tv in the children’s room both equipped with YouTube TV, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. There are plenty of beach toys (sand castle equipment, giant connect 4, corn hole, Spikeball, large cooler, several boogie boards, pop-up/folding chairs, and a 10x10 easy-up/canopy) Home is 7.5 miles from the paved road at the end of Rt. 12. Set trip odometer from the paved road to start your drive to the sand/by ocean side. Enter in mile marker 20 (little green signs with numbers). Enter mile marker 20, and it’s the 6th house on left.

The house was just as described and was more stocked than any other house we’ve stayed in, particularly with beach gear. We saw horses every single day. Navigating the beach and keeping a lookout for the horses made the trip an extra special adventure for the whole family. We’ve never had a more responsive host. Highly recommend.

Our family had a wonderful stay in this house. It is well laid out, very well equipped with everything one might need including a fresh water dispenser which is a big plus in these houses that rely on well water.
Another lovely feature of this house is having the "living" area on the top floor so one is able to take in the views of the ocean or the breathtaking sunsets effortlessly.
Evan is a fantastic and very responsive owner who has taken the trouble to anticipate just about everything his guests might need in terms of house equipment, kitchen supplies, beach towels, beach chairs and even includes a very helpful little area guide booklet.
The location is absolutely perfect, allowing for a short stroll to the beach if one just wants a quick dip or a walk and just a 5 minute drive if one is setting up for the day and taking the car to the beach.
We thoroughly recommend this house to any family or group who are looking for a perfect place to stay.

The house was beautiful and fit all our needs. It was very clean and well cared for. There were so many extras that you just don’t get with the rental companies. Evan was very accommodating and responded very quickly.

There are very few things that would improve the house overall. The smell of the well water was our biggest complaint. We had an amazing stay and the owner was receptive and quick to respond to our questions.

Spectacular views, stunning sunsets and an absolute hidden gem. Our little ones had a fantastic time playing in the dunes and watching the horses stop by in close proximity to the property.
An absolute oasis and relaxing week! Can’t say enough of good things about the property and location. We thank Evan for hosting us, and look forward to returning back. 🙂

We stayed for a week in mid-March as a cold front moved across the East coast and had an excellent time. Once your tires hit the sand, you’re in a different place. If you don’t have 4x4, look elsewhere.
We were traveling with our 7-month-old, which helped us catch some gorgeous sunrises. I’d recommend kitchen sunglasses for anyone cooking an early breakfast.
The galley kitchen, long counter/island, and living room is a great hangout spot. The beds and living room furniture are comfy. The included bluetooth speaker was great for happy hour tunes. Mobile reception was totally fine, and Google Maps got us around without a hitch. A hot tub dip when it was 43 degrees and raining was a luxury.
We were there at the end of a new moon, and I’d challenge anyone to find a better star-gazing opportunity than this area. The top lookout deck was great for sunsets too. Other decks are covered, which would probably provide a welcome break from the sun in hotter weather.
Spend time provisioning beforehand to save yourself unnecessary trips to the store. Getting to “town” and back is at least a 1-2 hour round trip, and that’s time you could be hanging out instead. As a party of 2.5, we took five 2.5 gallon water jugs and it was the right amount. We cooked pasta, steamed seafood, made cocktail ice, and even used it for a quick baby bath.
The horses are definitely around. We saw some hanging out in a neighbor’s driveway.
We’re looking forward to returning someday!

Outer Banks Experience
A place to get away from the crowd and relax. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. You need to be prepared for the drive on the beach.

Wonderful home with wild horses
This is a fabulous Carova beach home for a family with kids (or two families with kids). We saw wild horses from the porch, dolphins at the beach, and everything about the house was clean, well-appointed, and useful. The porches are great to hang out on and it is a short walk/drive to the beach.
You do need a 4x4 to get around (and through the soft sand to the house). We used an all wheel drive Subaru and did fine, but this is 4x4 country with lots of big trucks that did much better.

Beautiful new built and clean home in the second row of homes from the beach. We seen horses daily and dolphins multiple days. Received quick responses from the host. Enjoyed our stay immensely.

Wild Horse Haven!!!
This property was an adventure all the way...... to this perfectly remote, outer banks beauty; with spectacular coastline steps away, an an equestrian caravan that visited daily! Cannot wait to come back to this location, the whole family was so pleased! Thanks to Evan, the property was afforded all the necessary elements to ease our needs so that we could travel lightly to this far away destination, we had a fabulous time at your place!
Until next time,

Location Perfection
We love this house! While it is simple in its design and furnishings, we wished for nothing more. Everything we needed was there, right down to a cheese grater. We were after the 4-wheeling up and down the beach experience and, of course, to see the wild horses. This location did not disappoint. There was so much horse activity around the house (including a stallion fight!). It was unbelievable! We are an active family who, admittedly, have a difficult time sitting still and while we were plenty active surfing each day, the house has such a relaxed and soothing “vibe” (as long as you don’t turn on the glaring LED lights (subjective, I know)) that we definitely felt the stress melt away. Oh, and the views of the dunes out front and the ocean behind them AND the stunning sunsets out the back of the property can’t be overstated. Stay at this home!

The house was perfect. I have to say I was a little worried about the beds because they don't look very comfortable in the pictures shown here but they're so comfortable. I've rented several places over the years and this was the first that had several different seasonings, coffee, coffee filters, foil, plastic wrap and several other small things that we usually need. Most times I don't feel comfortable using something that may be in the cabinet opened but no issue with this place as I was comfortable doing so. There was some food, sauces and condiments in the cabinet unopened as well. There was plenty of TP and paper towels too! The house is exactly as pictured but it's even more beautiful in person. The only complaint was from my 16 year-old who brought his gaming system and couldn't play it since there is only one TV in the house. I imagine most people don't bring gaming systems so it's not an issue for most. This wasn't an issue for me because I stayed on the beach or roaming the area looking for horses most of the day. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and spent a lot of time in it since most days were pretty cool. This place was truly heaven on earth. It was a little chilly the first several nights we were there so we didn't see any horses, even though we drove around looking for them daily. We were fortunate enough to see dolphins the first day, we got to see deer, rabbits, a harbor seal that came to rest on the beach for several hours, a sting ray and a couple of baby sharks. The last two days we were there we finally got to see the horses and it was the most amazing experience I've ever had. Horses have always been my favorite animal and seeing them in the wild made me so happy. The captains deck is pretty awesome too. If you're looking for a place to stay, this is it. A quick walk over the dune and you're on the beach or you can simply drive over in 60 seconds. I LOVED THIS PLACE.

Wonderful stay!
This house was exactly as described and we had a wonderful stay! The host was super responsive and accommodating (even allowing us to check in early which we appreciated)! Amazing location and we loved having the horses all around. Beach and hot tub were great and the house was very clean. Beds very comfortable. A couple of the advertised amenities were missing that they likely just ran out of (trash bags, toiletries like shampoo) but not a big deal. We were there for Thanksgiving and were able to cook a Thanksgiving meal with all the kitchenware which was great. A great stay and we would definitely come back! A couple suggestions to other travelers: the filtered water still was too strong a taste and smell for us so we bought water for cooking and drinking. If you come with young kids we recommend bringing a baby gate or two to block the stairs. Great stay- thank you!

Relaxing getaway!
We had a wonderful Fall break in the OBX! Loved the location right to the beach and seeing wild horses every day. They even hung out in the driveway which the kids were so excited about. Would definitely recommend staying here for your next adventure.

The house is new, sparkling clean, and has everything you need to enjoy a great getaway. We loved the Parrot's nest, grill, hot tub, beach chairs, sunsets, sunrises, and easy access to the beach. Let's go to the beach
This is the ultimate stay to completely slow down. It was a little different for our family not to have a ton of activities planned for each day, and instead just have to slow down and stop running around for a while. We did venture out one night to Carolla for mini golf. Otherwise I was sunrises, horses 🐎 and lots of beach ⛱. The house was so easy, bright and open. Having a 4x4 was absolutely essential as it had rained hard the day before we arrived and the road to the house had monster size puddles (over 2ft deep) we had to get through. Also would not recommend arriving after sun down during high tide like we did if you've never driven on the beach before like us...yikes!!! And another tip, even though Instacart will let you put in an order for delivery from Food Lion to this address they really won't deliver...another lesson learned.

This house is in an amazing location looking over the sand dunes at the beach. We had daily visits from the horses, sometimes even in the backyard. The house is full of all the comforts of home. Comfortable beds, 2 masters with bathrooms, hot tub, fully functioning kitchen, outdoor grill, outdoor shower… everything you need! The location was quiet and perfect for our family. We had a walking path across the dunes right I. Front of the house and the jeep path to the beach was a few houses down. Amazing vacation and we will certainly be back

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, new beach house. Check in was easy and communication with the owners was prompt. The house was super clean and decorated very nicely. Great location close to the beach with beach views from upstairs and lots of opportunities to see the wild horses from the decks. Beds were very comfy. We had three main suggestions. One it needs more casual seating. There is only one living room with seating for 5 or 6. Plenty of dining options for a larger group but not enough living room seating. There is also no deck seating on the lower or upper decks at all. On the main deck there were benches but no comfortable seating. A hammock and Adirondack chairs would really benefit this house. Overall a great stay though and with some more furniture it would be close to perfect.
