We had a very comfortable stay at this property during our visit to Acadia NP. Our hosts were very good at communicating with us and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the property.

We felt like we were in the center of Acadia, but without all the crazy crowds! Nice wooded lot with access to a stream and lake. (We wished we had had time to use the kayaks!) Easy access to the “quiet side” hikes. The inside provided everything we needed for our stay. The king bed was very comfortable, and the microwave, fridge, and coffee maker allowed us to easily eat in when we wanted. The hosts provided SO much helpful info about the area, and we used many of their suggestions to plan our activities!

Many hosts are lovely, but these host are as my kids said, Extra! Located a quiet drive from Acadia National Park. We scored Cadillac Mtn sunrise tickets. Our hosts were so proud of us making it there for sunrise they made personalized certificates.

My aunt and I decided on a last-minute trip to Maine to visit my cousin, who lives on MDI. We managed to find this hidden gem, which is only a couple of miles from my cousin's house and had everything we needed. We spent most of our trip kayaking and hiking, and it was great to have a place close by to shower and sleep. The beds were very comfortable -- there is a king bed and a twin bed in one room, and a queen and twin-sized loft in the other. The bathroom contained a bunch of products that smelled heavenly. The only other room contained a small table with chairs, which was the ideal spot to share a cup of coffee in the morning (there was a coffeemaker, electric kettle, microwave, and fridge). We also had full access to the outdoor grill, picnic table, chairs and other outdoor items. J.F. and Sue were very welcoming -- we had easy directions to find the house and they left hiking and restaurant suggestions that were some of the best of our trip. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for somewhere to sleep soundly after a long day of MDI activities.

This was exactly what we hoped it would be. A quiet place to rest after a busy day in Acadia. JF was so easy to communicate with and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had all the information we needed. The gift of a homemade bird feeder was the sweetest touch. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

This property was perfect for our visit to Acadia National Park. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who showed us around his beautiful 4.5 acre property. There is a creek with sitting area, paths, picnic table with grill, etc and you can use his kayaks and canoe at Great Long Pond which is right across the road - a wonderful added bonus.. The property is on the “quiet side” of Acadia, but centrally located so you can get to all the many sights easily. The beds were comfy and there is a room to eat and watch tv. Probably the best part of this VRBO is the owner - who can give you any tips about sights, hikes, restaurants, etc that you are interested in. We told him the things we were interested in and he took time to tell us the best options….and he knew spots that even the park ranger volunteers didn’t know about. He was kind, welcoming and at the same time gave us privacy. It was exactly what we needed.

Myself and 3 friends stayed here for 4 nights to explore Acadia. We were welcomed by kind and generous hosts who shared tips and helpful information for the area. The stay is on a beautiful property with easy access to all the many wonderful parts of Mt. Desert Island. The hosts are so sweet and have a long history of loving Maine. Highly recommend staying here!

The real gem if this location is the property. Lake access. Stream going through. Woods. A grill for cooking if you want. And the quiet side is a plus. 20 min to Bar Harbor if you want to go in It’s a basement (and my 6’2 son had to duck to get through doors). It’s small but had what we needed-some separate spaces. No real living space/area, and I didn’t read closely enough to realize that there was no sink in the kitchen area-so did dishes in the bathroom sink.

We had a wonderful time staying at JF and Suzy’s property! It was the perfect spot for our family of 4. We spent time exploring the property and took advantage of the pond, canoe and nearby beach. Our two sons loved having the freedom to be outside and enjoyed spending time on the pond.
The location was central to everything on the island. It was easy to get back to after a day in the National Park and central enough to catch dinner in one of the nearby harbors.
JF and Suzy could not have been more accommodating and friendly. They were extremely welcoming and even took time to interact with our boys. They are also extremely skilled craftsmen and it was fun getting to see their art. The accommodations were everything we needed for our trip to Acadia and we would come back in a heart beat!

This place was a great location to Acadia and Bar Harbor! The beds were comfortable, place was clean, and the owners were friendly! They greeted us on arrival and gave a lot of good tips of places to go and eat! They were very accommodating and even gave us a small handmade gift for staying with them, which was very nice! I would recommend this place if you are planning on coming for a weekend or for an extended weekend!

We had everything our family of 5 needed for a three day Acadia adventure. Clean, comfortable space. Kind, hospitable hosts who gifted us with a one of a kind, hand made souvenir. Beautiful secluded property. Excellent location to Acadia and Bar Harbor.

JF and Sue were great hosts who were always available to help with suggestions on what to do and where to go. They even walked us through a lobster picnic at the outdoor table on the property! It was delicious and fun. The accommodations had everything we needed and provided a clean and convenient home base for our family trip to Acadia. Minutes from all things in the park in a quiet area away from the busier parts of MDI. It was exactly what our family needed it to be!

The owners of the property are very kind people and made us feel welcome while also giving us our privacy. The property was perfect with 2 separate bedrooms and plenty of space. Would definitely stay here again!

The property is rustic. If you're looking for all the frills, skip this one. The property is beautiful and the host was very nice. The smaller bedroom only had a double bed and a loft and the double bed was very soft. We are used to a very firm bed., so this wasn't the greatest for us. We were provided with coffee, sweeteners, some games and tourist information in the unit. There were plenty of towels and washcloths. We enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here to go hiking in Acadia national Park. Place is very close to Beech mountain hiking trails and close enough to other hiking trails and bar harbor with little driving. Everything was clean and eminites listed were there how ever did not need/use much as I was mostly hiking

Was looking for a safe place to leave Ebikes at night without having to load and unload every day and this property was tucked away on the quiet side but within a 15 minute car ride to most everything on the island. Also, got in some great hiking nearby from the suggestions in a binder the owners have for their guests. Would book again.

This property was a perfect place for our motorcycle adventure. Close ride to Acadia Park loop, Cadillac mountain, restaurants, other towns. The owners were extremely nice and helpful, they gave us great advise what to see, where to go, what's the best place to eat lobsters. The apt is as advertised, it's a basement apt without a stove or kitchen sink, however it wasn't a big deal for us. We spent all day in a park and made a barbecue in the evening. It's a very nice place to stay, extremely clean and quiet. As a souvenir we got the beautiful handmade birch candles... love them ! It's a place we would definitely come back.

James and Sue are very nice and helpful. The 2 bedrooms and a dinning/living area are clean, cozy, and have everything you need. We didn't use the lake because of the weather. This place is very convenient to get to Acadia National park and Bar Harbor, and anywhere on the island. I am very happy with the 3 nights stay at James and Sue's place. I highly recommend this place if you plan to visit Acadia.

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The hosts were very friendly and gave us some insider tips of the area and they shared some helpful information for our trip. We had trouble finding the right if way beach and they came out in their car to show us the way. It was nice to be nestled in the woods and feel like rustic Maine. This property was affordable too and close to all the sights. We would definitely recommend for people looking for a nice play to stay near Acadia. The owners gave us a nice parting gift of some cool wooden candles made on their property.

Great property with short drive to scenic Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Do not expect luxury but very comfortable with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath on over 4 acres with beautiful surroundings. Owners are very welcoming and will give great recommendations of things to do in the area. We very much enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return to the area again soon.
