About this cabin rental

Summary: Nestled in the Riverbend Cabins is this cozy cabin named "Riverden". It is a 900+ square foot cabin perched on the hillside of the Little Colorado River. You can see and hear the river from the porch while relaxing on the log swing and Adirondack chairs or take a 30 second walk down to the banks. We even have deer visiting many evenings! Riverden is just off Main Street in the hamlet of Greer AZ. We do allow dogs in this cabin but no more than 2. Each dog is $59 for your stay. Dogs may be left in the cabin when you are not ONLY if they are crated. We STRONGLY suggest taking your fuzzy buddies with you on all adventures. Show up with your food, basic necessities and a sense of adventure. The beds are fresh. The lights and heat are on. The towels are set. The Space: Riverden is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom Cabin with a very efficient kitchen. We have a gas range and oven, carousel microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal and fridge. The combined living room and kitchen area has windows looking out to the porch and onto East side mountains and sweet sunrises. There is a round dining room table (with hidden leaf extension) for 4 to 6 people. Glassware, plates and silverware, cookware and utensils are all in the cabin. A small gas stove adds ambiance to the living room area but we have central heating throughout the cabin. Both bedrooms have Queen beds and streaming TVs. We have Wifi and Dish Network Satellite TV. The gas grill on the porch is easy access and we provide propane for you as our guest. All windows have room darkening curtains and screens. Guest Access: As our guest, you can enjoy the lower banks of the Little Colorado River, Riverbend common areas and access (over the small river) to National Forest land. The Neighborhood: Riverbend Cabins is a small complex off of Main Street. There are other rental cabins in the complex but you have privacy being on the river's edge. The Greer Village Walkway is a nice pathway that leads you to National Forest hiking trails and shops/dining. It's right across the street. In the cabin you will find a Hit The Trails magazine with 38 local trails and maps for exploring in Greer. Ice, booze, tobacco, souvenirs and supplies are available at our well-stocked local convenience store, Lazy Trout Market, which is open until 5PM daily. In Summer months, Greer has coffee, pizza, restaurants, gift shops and more! During Winter months and year-round, you can choose from Rendezvous Diner, Molly Butler Lodge and Edelweiss German Bistro for most of your family dining needs. Please remember, Greer has no gas stations or laundromats. Getting Around: Bring your bikes, UTVs or good shoes to get anywhere in Greer. There is a small convenience store in Greer but no gas stations. The nearest chain grocery stores and gas stations are in Eagar and Springerville which are 17 minutes away. We do suggest AWD/4WD vehicles in wintertime and be prepared to (and know how to) use tire chains in snowy conditions. The main roads are plowed and so is our parking area but Mother Nature can be unpredictable. Be prepared! Other Things to Note: Riverbend guests can enjoy the Little Colorado River between the 2 fences at the bottom of the cabins. Please don't cross the bridges to the neighboring private property. The owners of that property are very strict with their NO TRESPASSING policy. Interaction with Guests: Our cabin mangers live close by. We want to give you your privacy so a text for any help is perfect. If you need us to come over, we'll be there soon.

The cabin is in a wonderful location to enjoy sounds of the E Fork of the Little Colorado River running over the rocks just below - truly an idyllic setting. It was extremely clean with pleasant décor. The deck has a swing & 2 rocking chairs that could have been comfortable with more substantial cushions. (I would definitely take cushions next visit.) The great-room set up with the kitchen, living & dining area functions quite well. We thoroughly enjoyed the local restaurants so the kitchen was more than satisfactory for morning coffee & evening snacks. The bedrooms are small but pleasant. However, it was difficult to access the shelves and hanging rod for clothing as one had to squeeze past the end of the bed & hanging clothes to access shelves. Each bed has a decent mattress, but a foam topper would have added much needed comfort for older hips/shoulders to provide for a really restful sleep. Hooks on the back of the bedroom doors would be handy. The bathrooms are functional w/both tub & shower & stepping over the tub without grab bars can be a challenge. Improved lighting & door hooks would be welcomed. My friend & I rented the cabin together for a week. When I made the reservation I requested the 2nd payment be made by my friend. Despite several email reminders w/contact information, my card was charged for the 2nd half payment. Even without the desired comforts mentioned, payment issues & parking not being great, I must say our week at the cabin was wonderful!

This was a family trip to just get out of the heat of the valley. We had an amazing stay at this cabin! It’s proximity to the Little Colorado River is perfect. We left the windows open all night, and heard the rushing water all night long! We will definitely stay here again!!

The cabin is in new condition and was clean, comfortable and inviting. Being next to and hearing the river makes all the difference in Greer. Great location and loved the screen door. It is the best location within this development of cabins.

The cabin is very nice and the area is very beautiful. The photos shown online are old and do not show the restaurant that was built next door or the cabins that have been built by the ponds that are across the stream. Also, those ponds are on private property and unlike what it says on the site you do not have access to them. The restaurant next door is beautiful and does not diminish this property at all. The following is for fly-fishing people who like to wade; this was my second visit to Greer, this is not an area I'll come back to for fly-fishing. The little Colorado river is terrible, didnt see anything for the three days we were there. Fishing the nearby lakes successfully will require a boat and the vast majority of people fishing were fishing for meat, certainly not catch and release and that might be why we saw nothing in the stream. Also i was surprised to see an algae bloom that happened overnight in the lakes. Never saw that in any lake especially this early in the season, mid June. None of that is a reflection on the cabin, I'm mentioning that in case a fellow fly-fishing person has ideas of coming because if you do I'd suggest going somewhere else.

The cabin and property is very top notch. Only issue is the photos showed access to a series of ponds down by the stream. They were advertised as a catch and release fishing area to enjoy during our stay. That was not the case. The area is fenced off by the adjoining property and no access. We tried to contact our cabin owner to obtain answers, but no return text. We will stay again, just disappointed there was no access to the ponds as advertised in the VRBO post.
