Quirky, well designed house right on the slopes. Comfortable beds, good showers. Good living accommodation. Nice to have access to sauna and hot tub.

We had not seen anywhere in the booking.com web site that this apartment was so far up a hill from facilities. You really do need a car. We really struggled to get equipment and food up the hill. This flat is situated a good 40 minute walk up a very steep hill. Taxis are very expensive and hard to come by. Obvious things missing from the flat, bizarrely there were no bowls, no microwave (not the end of the world), no TV which didn’t matter to us but if you went with kids, it may be a issue. The sheet of general info in the unit gave restaurant numbers for Chamonix, not Les Houches. Emergency numbers, doctors, dentists etc were not supplied. Owner lives up stairs and was quite noisy on occasion, disturbing our sleep. A few days before we arrived and after the free cancellation had expired, we were advised that bedding and towels were extra (24 euros per set) which was annoying. This wasn’t made clear from the start and when we got there, they hadn’t supplied the towels we’d paid for. The host met us on arrival as planned but was poor in responding to us during our stay. I’d asked for wood for the hot tub and towels which didn’t materialise so we didn’t get to use the hot tub. At the end of our stay, she invited feedback and became rather defensive with the comments made.

The location of this chalet was superb! If you’re a complete ski fanatic the ski in and out from your door, is invaluable. You’ll be the first people to leave tracks on the snow. The Dutch bath and sauna was also a welcomed retreat after a jam packed day of skiing. Hostnfly’s host,Caroline, was extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Top accommodation!
