About this cabin rental
Welcome to Purple Rain! Mid-century modern cabin. This 1 bedroom Cottage is a short trip to town and has a fenced in yard, perfect home for single person or couple traveling with their fur babies. MID CENTURY STYLE. Single level home with spacious open living/dining with rock fireplace and beamed ceiling, updated kitchen with granite counters and fully equipped with essentials. Now with 2 mini split aircon/heat one in the living room and one in the bedroom. The large bedroom has a queen sized bed and separate den area and wall of windows consisting of 40 individual panes, an architectural feature continued in a partially finished studio room. Large front yard, private rear yard and patio, paved driveway, extra parking and level access, complete this desirable and interesting property. Hang out in the hammock and relax among the pine trees. Backyard has outdoor seating to enjoy a meal al fresco as well as a BBQ* Wheelchair Accessible THINGS TO KNOW Rates & Payments: When booking our homes online or by phone, you may use the following payment methods: Debit or any major Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. Carpeted, two spacious rooms great for dogs! Yard safe but small. Wonderful view out front windows. Piano a plus. If you don't mind a some odd diy aesthetics but LOVE open indoor space, location, and dog enjoyment, this is perfect. Seems like an ideal gathering spot for groups of friends who are staying elsewhere, because there's massive seating indoors/full kitchen and fun outdoor pavilion for big dinner parties -- yet sleeping for just 1 or 2. Awesome gathering spot!
I preferred my last stay here more because it was summer so I didnt have to struggle wuth the AC or various heaters. It is very cold in here in winter because place needs to be insulated (if i had thought to use the fireplace we would have been less cold). I used a lot of blankets!
I do wish the owner didn't use a management company because you have to go into the office for checkin 4 pm and checkout 10 am plus fill out extra forms online first. Probably not an issue for others, but I prefer self checkin. Also the dog fee seems excessive if the tenant is responsible and clean like me and my pup. Still, I'm always happy to pay extra when the 6 foot fence is real wood and not chain link (too much wildlife here for me to feel safe with chain link and an athletic dog). All in all, I am happy with Purple Rain and love the Prince vibe!

The first thing we noticed was there’s no curtains over the front or back doors which are full glass and you can straight inside. It was a little anxiety inducing thinking someone could be looking inside with nothing to block the view. Also we noticed a strong smoke smell every time we stepped inside. Like a campfire, not tobacco or cannabis. We had to wash all our clothes because everything smelled like a campfire when we got home. Also, a few of the blankets and comforters, in addition to smelling like smoke, smelled like a wet dog. I don’t know if they were washed but they seemed so smelly and dirty we just put them on the floor in a corner. There were some good things. It’s dog friendly and the fenced in backyard was a huge plus. Our puppy LOVED having space to explore the environment. Speaking of the backyard, there’s a cool hangout spot with some high top tables and chairs. It was a little dirty and needed to be wiped down but it wasn’t a big deal. The record player and records were a big plus. Great selection, of course we played Purple Rain, with a decent speaker set up. Kitchen has all utensils, pots, and pans you would need. The location is decent if you’re looking for a secluded spot close to the town.All things considered, my wife would not stay here again because the smoke smell was just too much. That and the doors lacking curtains, which is such an easy fix. But that smoke smell might be permanent.

We loved this cozy cabin. The location is very close to town and the neighborhood was perfect for an evening stroll. We enjoyed eating dinner in the backyard, laying in the hammock and dancing around to the Prince (and other) albums. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for preparing meals. We played Rummikub game on the huge dining table, neither of us had played before it’s fun, check it out. The bedroom had plenty of room to spread out our suitcases. I slept very comfortably. Overall a very peaceful stay! Loved listening to the birds!

We booked this stay last minute but the price was amazing. When we arrived it was the cutest cabin. The yard was covered in snow it was like a wonderland. We parked and go inside and the color purple is my favorite personally and it was a well decorated cabin. The bookshelf was a favorite as well. We appreciated the 3 ringed binder as it had everything we needed and more. We found great food and places to try our hands at sledding. The fire place was magical and the AC runs an very comfortable 72 degrees. This place was more than we could have asked for and plan on returning next winter. Maybe even before this winter is over. 5 stars if I could leave more I would

The setting is cute but the cleanliness standard sent us packing. Upon going to bed I checked the sheets like I always do. I bring my own just in case the ones provided aren't fresh or have other issues. Well these sheets were obviously slept in!!! While changing the sheets I was horrified to discover a filthy urine stained (in multiple locations) mattress. It was late so we tried covering it with whatever we could find. There were only old blankets and a mattress cover that didnt fit this bed. We used our sheets and our car trunk blanket. Needless to say we were out the next day. There were other issues like only 1 washcloth, 1 handtowel and 1 dishtowel for a 5 day stay. The place didn't have a few bugs it had MANY of different kinds. I got bit up and the ants distroyed any food left on the counter. They did recently put some A/C units in but they couldn't keep up with the heat wave. Somebody else said it was too cold in the winter. If the cabins doors and windows and other openings were to be sealed this would help keep in the A/C in the summer and heat in winter as well as keep the bug population down. I'm sorry I couldn't say anything nicer but it was a pretty bad experience and we lost a day of our vacation. On the other hand New Spirit Vacation Homes went above and beyond to save our vacation. I cannot recommentd them enough.

Stayed at Purple Rain for a quick getaway with my son and mother. The cabin is two minutes from town, one minute from an amazing playground and tucked into a lovely little neighborhood. It was peaceful and quiet. The living and dining area has floor to ceiling windows and beautiful views of the trees out front. It's set back from the road so it felt very private - hidden behind trees and huge boulders. We had a fire in the fireplace, made our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. My son loved the piano - and I wished we had actual musicians with us to play the two acoustic guitars. We will book here again on our next visit.
