Friendly staff and a well maintained property.

Everything was great. The B&B provided coffee and breakfast from 9am to 11am. It would be nice to have coffee available earlier, such as by 7am daily.

they breakfast was disappointing…. frozen Eggo waffles, poor selection of breads, the fruit was not fresh, and on our second day there was no yogurt. also, no hair dryer in the room

This was our first visit to Ajijic made all the more special because of the Bella Carolina guest house. The room was clean and comfortable and the walled courtyard was breathtaking, well manicured, with a wide variety of native trees, flowers and shrubs. The breakfast was more than generous and delivered on time every morning. The staff was always available either on site or by phone. Don't think twice about booking Bella Carolina. We would give it 11 stars if we could.

Breakfast was pretty good, with several options, and some nice fruit and yogurt. But it wasn't anything spectacular.

There were just a few things that we thought were lacking for a B&B that wasn't inexpensive. For example, the addition of another chair and a small table to put a book or glass on outside on the balcony by our room would have been welcomed. Also, there is only one small towel rack (in the shower), although there would be room for a couple more racks. It made it hard to manage the use of our towels etc. One other small thing, is that the addition of two more lounge chairs by the pool, so it would be easier to have a choice of sunny or shady location.

The place itself is lovely. The garden and pool are wonderful, the room was nice, the bathroom in our room had a great design. The bed and the room overall were comfortable. The location is killer.

The check-in time is absurdly early (ends at 5!) and there was a bit of an issue there because we were arriving after that; after finally resolving it the manager (or maybe she's the owner) implied it was a misunderstanding because we were speaking Spanish and that she could have explained it to me in English. Which frankly, was not the issue. I understood her perfectly well. The hot water was not consistent; we had to open the hot water on the tap to even get hot water to come from the showerhead, and even then it constantly went back and forth between scalding hot and freezing cold (probably an instant water heater that's poorly calibrated). I didn't expect much from the continental breakfast but it really was the most basic spread imaginable, and very small portions for the number of people present. Even just some pastries would have been a nice addition. Maybe a nitpick, but the TV wasn't working properly, although at the end we were able to get Netflix to work.

We loved everything about Casa Caroline Bella! The entire facility and grounds are lovely and well cared for. Breakfast was waiting for us daily and was delicious. The location is absolutely perfect - very close to the lake and Malecon and in walking distance to everything in central Ajijic.
