If you are fishing and young great place to stay.place

That there was a restaurant on the property. We were only staying the night so it worked for us. Great location for any one fishing. Wouldn’t recommend for a family.

We booked a chalet for two couples not realizing the loft was the second place to sleep. If you are over 65 I do not recommend this as walking down the steps from the loft are very scary and you could barely kneel up there. So the other couple pulled out the twin sleepers and slept there.

A bit expensive for what we got.

Good pour at the bar. Room was clean. Staff helpful and friendly.

Room was very cold and no real second bedroom only a loft. Water went from hot to cold and was not consistently staying hot so no showering for us.

Picture postcard 1950s rustic summer fishing camp with cabins

This is a fishing camp. Think of summer camp with cabins and a central dining hall, which sometimes has live music. No meals were included in our stay, so I can't comment on them. We were only there one night and it was a bit of a slog to get kids and luggage to the cabin. If we had been planning to stay there and fish or enjoy the local scenery and activities, it would have been a much better idea. Cabins are rustic but have modern bathrooms and basic kitchen.

As above, we were only there for one night. The check-in process didn't seem particularly friendly. It's a bit rough to get suitcases or other luggage to the cabins, since there are no pathways. We had expected to get breakfast or a meal voucher, but guess we didn't get the correct information at booking.

We had a great time, the Cabin was fantastic and roomy! Wish we could have stayed longer!

This was a true camping cabin. The size was great and roomy with space for everyone to stretch out and a covered wrap around porch to sit and relax with a view of the river and cabin facilities. The general store had everything we needed and there was a fly fishing shop next door. The river was right across the street. It was a nice and relaxing place. We had a dinner and breakfast at Gwin's Restaurant and both meals and service were great!

The cabin was great but the kitchen was outdated and minimally appointed. It was not a problem at all for our overnight stay.

Very small cabin with no TV or wi-fi.

Comfy bed, refrigerator was nice. Very rustic cabin.

There were cobwebs everywhere you looked up. There were limited outlets in the cabin, couldn't even find a place to plug in coffee maker.

Not clean, not worth it.

The restaurant had huge portions and the staff was nice in the restaurant. It was cute to stay in a place that was like a tiny house. I had never slept in a loft bed, it made me realize how difficult it would be to get dressed up there.

I wish we stayed at the place that looked ugly in the photos. This place appeared together in the photos but there must be cleaning staff issues. I always want to take off my shoes inside but it was disgusting when you did. The staff was not accommodating after letting them know, I guess all the rooms were like this. The loft ladder was a little dangerous, and not recommended for older or larger folks. Definitely not worth the $350 paid.

Surprised that 5 people can fit in one room. Was expecting an additional bedroom.

The staff at the bar was very good!

I don't know about the rest of the cabins, but this place was filthy.

This was in a good location. I liked the proximity to any sightseeing areas we went to. Great location to go either to Kenai area or Seward without having to stay in a town.

Absolutely disgustingly dirty Cabin 4. Not enough outlets for anything. Disgustingly dirty - pillows were on the beds when we came in and one appeared to be missing. I dropped something on the floor and found the missing pillow underneath the bed. Dust bunnies everywhere, extreme amount under the bed, looked as though this cabin had not been cleaned in a very, very long time. Found a bottle of basalmic vinegar that looked ancient underneath the other bed. Bathroom door wouldn't close all the way, so if someone was coming in or out of the cabin, anyone could see in. Extreme lack of cleanliness for sure!

Great location fro fishing the Kenai. The restaurant has great burgers.

great location dry cabin was perfect fit for us

the blinds were literally crumbling and the out house hadn’t been taken care of in so long that the debris was more than level with the toilet. It was not safe. Luckily we were prepared with pop up shelter and portable toilet that fit in our room.

Pleasant

If you are there for fishing or rafting, this is your property. Close to trails. Friendly staff.

The picture was a little deceiving. I expected a little higher class. The towels were scratchy. The room was crooked. The shower leaked. I don't feel that I obtained my money's worth. New staff in restaurant unfamiliar with menu. Ordered omelet with extra vegetables that ended up being $22.

my girlfriend and I stayed in a fisherman cabin for 2 nights, to fish for spring rainbows. the cabin was very affordable

the lodge was perfectly located for fishing Kenai lake or the Russian river. the food was great and the service was excellent.

not worth the price and has NO RESTROOM AT ALL

- amazing friendly staff

- if you think that you can survive without restroom… think twice - yes, “dry cabin” literally has no NOT AT ALL bathrooms and restroom. you can only use plastic box “toilet” if you are not scared and if you are lucky to find any toilet issues - again: there is no bathroom available for “dry cabin” - and check your bill. Host is overcharged me, they charge more $ then Booking showing. - and yes it’s totally not worth the price

The property gives you a sense of the 1950's Alaska...friendly, helpful, hardworking people.

There was no breakfast due to too late in season, so manager refunded the charge on our request. It would have been nice to know this when we booked. However there was an outdoor vendor with a great breakfast offering on site, so all worked out well.

The door was very hard to lock and unlock...

These are true fishing cabins. They were very rustic and the restaurant on site was good and had great service.

Our group had 3 cabins and one was much nicer than the others. Two of the cabins had a single power strip for electricity and a single bulb for light. They were basically clean though I am not sure the comforter had been recently washed and the floors were a bit dirty. The floors were sloped and the coffee cups stained. At check-in the staff was less than helpful, could not work with us to store bags in the morning while we fished, did not know about the near by hiking trails and other things to do.

I would look for a diff cabin which might be better but the location is great for fishing.

Location is amazing right on other side of road from Kenai River. Nice front log cabin area with a great restaurant but thats where it stops.

The windows did not open to allow for a fan to circulate air. No A/C and it was a hot room so could not sleep much at all. Was somewhat musty. No tv. Side of bed lamp did not work either.

Would not stay again

This is definitely a Fishermens cabin. You could tell by the smell. We were less than pleased with the cabin and we’re glad it was only for one night
