Tranquil and peaceful

Nice outdoor kitchen and pool area. Very quiet and secluded as only 3 rooms/huts available. Very comfortable king size beds

A bit off the beaten path and a rough road to get there. But the beach is a beautiful spot and about a 15 min drive

Great place for a group of friends to enjoy real pura vida

Located in quiet place, but few min from the beach. Swimming pool always ready to jump in, friendly hosts, open kitchen with all we needed, big fridge.

Beautiful and relaxing place!!!

This place is definitely to rest and recharge. The A.C. in the room was awesome and the beds out of this world; king size and super comfy. The pool is also refreshing and Daniela the girl that tour us the place is very sweet. However, if you are looking for luxury and resort like activities, this is not the place for you, but for people that are looking for a place to be in peace and comfortable this is it.

If we had a car with higher clearance, the road would not have been an issue, but since I went with a regular car I struggled with the conditions of the roads to get to the place. It is only like 2kms in which the road is terrrible, but the potholes are bad. I would not even consider going there during rainy season, it will definitely destroy your car.

Awesome room and beds! The outdoor kitchen was fun and did the job.

Smelly bin that didn't get changed in the kitchen The hot water stopped working. We let them know of the problem but nobody came to try fix it.. Advertise a bbq but won't supply wood for ambiance.

Great accommodation, but changed the price on checkout

The beds were huge and very comfortable, very clean, hot shower, great swimming pool and in the middle of the jungle, we even saw monkeys!! It had an outdoor kitchen, so awesome to cook (if you can handle the mosquitos 🤣)

Unfortunately on our check out we were told our last night was more expensive than the rest of the nights (we extended our stay by 2 nights). The price on Booking was the same for every night. The night in question was Tu/We, so not like high demand night and we weren't informed about the price change in advance, only when we were packing to the car. This situation unfortunately completely changed our perception of the place...

disappointing and would not recommend

The cabins themselves are well equipped. big king sized beds and good bathrooms. unfortunately not properly sealed cabins so big spiders and mosquitos make their way in…

The location is completely out of the way, 30 minutes in the sun to walk to the beach. the host is really unhelpful, before we arrived we asked for advice on whether to rent a motorbike / car / quad and he had no opinion, no suggestions. He didn’t advise us to bring food / ingredients and even coffee filters before arriving in Avellanas and once you get there, it’s pretty difficult to get hold of anything. the kitchen is very basic and they don’t clean it either. The price is steep considering they don’t come to clean the cabin once during a one week stay. The host also didn’t mention we had to pay in cash, and the nearest cash point is in Tamarindo (30 min away, and a 30 usd pirate taxi away). He doesn’t have any contacts who can drive you, no recommendations for what to do in the area… and seems uninterested and even bothered by your presence.

Absolutely fantastic place

We had the best time at Jimmy’s place in Playa Avellanas, it’s comfortable, clean and has a wonderful pool. Stunning location in the nature. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would come back anytime. Thank you, it was perfect!

Piece of heaven in the Jungle!!

Amazing stay for those who wants to experience jungles and real , non commercial Costa Rica! Wooden cabin with everything needed!! Unbelievable size of the beds, way more than king size )) You will have the best sleep ever!! Dreamy kitchen outside covered by greenery of the trees.. Sound of the jungle , animals and birds around… Cool Costa Rican owners ! Thanks again Jimmy !!!! We reassured enjoyed your place!!

Exceptional

Great little spot, you get exactly what is shown on the add. It is a little ways out of the way, but it makes for a very quiet night. Beware that Apple Maps will route you to the wrong place, so use google maps if possible. They only accept cash and the owner only speaks some Spanish, so just be ready for those. Overall it’s a great little spot!
