My friend and I stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. The house has great amenities (laundry, iron, coffee maker, blender, toaster, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, and beach chairs) and is tucked away off the main road. Check-in instructions were comprehensive and easy to follow. There are lots of great food options within walking distance, including malasadas and loco moco! I highly recommend this place - it’s in a great location for exploring all parts of the island. I’d definitely come back here :)

Authentically decorated with Hawaiian touches throughout. Had air conditioning which was needed. Quick 5 minute walk to either the shopping center or the beach. Overall was pretty good considering not on the beach & no pool

This little yellow cottage with the bamboo theme was a perfect home away from home for two couples. Beds were super comfy and extra blankets came in handy in the window seat. The hot high pressure shower was awesome. Neat backyard and tiki hut were an added bonus. Easy walk to the beach on the path. The cottage was stocked with extras which was really helpful. Very accessible to restaurants and groceries. A good home base for exploring the rest of the island.

My family and I spent almost a week at the Kapa’a Cottage. First, in terms of location, if you’re interested in activities or visiting sites on both the north and south ends of the island, the Cottage is centrally located. It is just off the main highway and roughly 45 minutes from Hanalei and an hour so from Waimea. It is also convenient to several grocery stores, restaurants, outfitters, etc. Most everything one could need is found close by. Second, in terms of livability, the Cottage is very cozy. It was a mini home away from home for us. It was nice to have a fully functional kitchen and a warm shower (after camping beforehand). The kids enjoyed the use of the boogie boards and snorkel equipment that is there to borrow as well. Thanks to the lush vegetation that surrounds the Cottage, the home feels very secluded, private and more remote than it is (most mornings we awoke to the wind in the trees, the sound of the surf a couple of blocks away and clucking Kaua’i chickens…just hilarious). Third, and finally, regarding checking in and checking out, everything was straight-forward and simple. We’ll definitely look into staying here again in the future.

Very outdated. Not comfortable. Dark. Light bulbs burned out and some outlets not working properly. Uncomfortable furniture. Kitchen and bathroom really need to be remodeled. Very different from the way it is pictured online.

Very clean and cute place near the beach for a great price. I've stayed in quite a number of places in Kauai and often run into mold issues and this place was totally mildew free. Really nicely decorated and equipped with everything we needed. We loved our stay!

The location is fabulous! The cottage is adorable. Something worth knowing is that the doors all have open slats in them so sound really carries from room to room (including the bathroom).

We loved the house—cozy, beautifully decorated, and walking distance to store and restaurants. The only thing missing is a view—but there are guys ones not so far away.

Mele Mele is a very comfortable and private house in an excellent location, with easy access to the beach, restaurants and a relaxed but hopping bar. We spent a whole day lounging at the beach, courtesy of the house’s chairs and sand umbrella - no need to bring, buy or rent anything.

This place was wonderful and great for groups and family! Walking distance to the beach and the host offers beach chairs and other water toys. Kitchen is well stocked to cook meals at home. AC and Fans are available. Great communication with the host. Would definitely stay here again!

We couldn’t have picked a better location - we were literally out the back gate and a block to the beach. Hotel across the street had amazing outdoor beachside dining, live entertainment, great mai tais, cornhole, and other yard games. Watched the full moon come up from there, it was fantastic. House was cozy and beach chic….great size for our family of four. outdoor pavilion was fun for evening cocktails. Very quick drive to airport and thirty minute access to west side beaches. My son wanted to test his one surf lesson using the board at the cabin, so we took that and the great condition chairs to a beach on the west side that had a life guard and snorkeling. Only one full set of gear, but we took turns. House is baby friendly - saw high chair seat and pacnplay and every outlet had a plastic safety device in it. Coffee pot does not turn off on its own - don’t forget. Checkin was easy and host was accommodating. Nice to have a personal contact. Only negative was the sound of the standup fans, you couldn’t have a conversation if they were on, but it did drown out the roosters.

Perfect for a family with teens

We really enjoyed our stay at Melemele cottage. It offered a perfect blend of a local feel along with access to more touristy sights. Our teens enjoyed the independence of walking across to the beach and restaurants and having their own room (which we don't often get in a hotel). The house itself was super cute and we LOVED waking up to birds and breeze each morning with the windows open. A perfect Hawaiian getaway!

We loved Meli Meli cottage. Immaculate, beautiful interior design and super helpful hosts. Lots of little extra amenities like snorkel gear and beach chairs, a guidebook, games, books, nearby recommendations, and laundry. Perfect little window seat. It's a great location if you want to explore the whole island -- 20 minutes from the North, 25-30 minutes to the South. I would stay here again!

Ideal property with private lot and excellent locale

My family and I had the privilege of staying at the cottages for two weeks in January and February. Both cottages were spotlessly clean and so well-stocked during our stay. The outdoor area is very private and the property is primally located. Everything we needed to enjoy Kawaii was on site. This was just a very desirable property in an excellent locale. I highly recommend and will look forward to staying here again
