About this house rental
Located in The Hideout, a gated community nestled in the Pocono Mountains. Perfect spot to spend time with family and friends. Only 2 hours away from New York and Philadelphia areas. This 4 bedroom 2 bath home can accommodate 12 guests and up to 14 with two extra air mattresses supplied. The house has 4 private bedrooms with sheets and towels supplied. The master "Golf Bedroom" has a King size bed, A/C, flat screen TV and private bath. Our "Wilderness Bedroom" has a queen size bed, flat screen TV and view of the woods. The "Lake Bedroom" has two twin beds, A/C, TV, and view of the woods as well. The downstairs "Disney Bedroom" has two sets of bunkbeds that can sleep 4 children. There is also a pull out couch in the basement that sleeps 2. The house also comes with brand new kitchen appliances and a brand new gas grill. A HUGE Game room. There are multiple arcade games and many retro games to play on TV. A full size ping pong table, Skee-ball, Air Hockey, and Pool Table as well. Enjoy the sounds of the surrounding woods on the large deck with gas BBQ, full dining table and many Adirondack chairs. The main living space has a gas fireplace to warm up around and a Flat screen TV. The Hideout is a gold star gated community with many amenities - Two pools, two areas to enjoy the large lake, a 9 hole golf course, mini golf course, beach volleyball area, and picnic area. The club house to eat lunch and dinner, and a brand new full recreation center with indoor tennis, gym, game room, salon, library and all purpose room for movie viewing. We have a art center where you can paint pottery and outdoor tennis, basketball courts, and baseball field. Many hiking trails, around the area. 10 Mins from Lake Wallenpaupack area as well. We enjoyed this cozy, warm and welcoming and well appointed home for our family fall getaway. We all enjoyed the game room. We did not want to leave. Matt was quick to respond and communication was A+++.

Our family of 11 had a great time at the cabin for our reunion. Everyone loved the game room even the adults. We beat the high scores on Pac-Man and Galaga. The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed spending time on the beach which was not far from cabin. Matt was very helpful.

We had a family reunion for the first time in the Poconos and had a great time. The house was very nice with a great play room downstairs which kept the kids happy and a great beach with a raft and a chance to dig holes.

A previously planned trip was cancelled which left our family looking for a new place to rest, relax, and enjoy some family time on short notice. We were able to find that here and we are so grateful that we could be accommodated with a short turn around time.
We cooked and grilled while we were there and the house had everything we needed. We loved that we could walk to the beach, pool, and canoe launch for some fun while having a place for quiet as well. Our kids love the basement and want to return for a movie night. We hope to return again!

I chose this property particularly for the game room given the uncertainty of the weather conditions and to ensure the kids had plenty of options to keep them busy. It thunderstormed when we arrived and a full day and evening during our stay so I made a good choice as the kids were quite satisfied to stay indoors. This place can easily sleep 3-4 families; so many room and sleeping options! The pool/lake area was a five minute drive and though crowded on Sat since it was the best day of the 4 days we spent here, the crowds were to be expected. Claws and Paws small zoo was only 10 minutes away and we spent only two hours of our trip there since it was so close. Overall a very nice trip!

Loved this house! Super clean with a fantastic game room! Extremely quiet neighborhood, we hardly saw anyone. Matthew was quick to respond to my texts and was very helpful. You won't regret staying here.

Peaceful spot near the lake with enough amenities you almost don’t want to leave the cabin. Matt is a great host and helps you through the complex’s slightly tedious entry requirements. Overall a fantastic stay!

We loved how modern and clean everything is! The house is spacious, yet very cozy at the same time. It was really nice to be able to spend time with our loved ones in such a lovely home! The game room was a major plus!! Looking forward to returning soon!

We spent 5 days at the property over the New Year's week. The house was very comfortable, clean and above and beyond fully stocked. The Host was very responsive to all the requests and always available. The community was at a great location and the amenities were perfect. We would love to stay there again.

There was so much to do at the house. We enjoyed playing ping pong, video games, and making popcorn. The fire pit area was very nice as well. The kids also enjoyed the community pools. The owner was very helpful and even text us during our stay to make sure we didn’t need anything. We had a great time.

Really wished I rented it out for more day! There was more then what we expected. We didn’t really know where the pool or the lakes were at so we were spent the first days out of the community and when we finally found them we couldn’t enjoy it as much as we would of love too. But over all it was really nice. The kids loved the play area downstairs. Like I said I would of love to stay more days.

Quiet Kid Friendly Getaway at a GREAT PRICE, Bigger than it looks in pictures.
We said for 3 nights 4 days. We were a group of friends that was 4 families with mostly younger children. The kid ranges was 1-8 years old. First impressions was the house was bigger than it looked online. We never felt cramped even with 8 adults and 6 kids. The bed rooms were great. 3 families took the upstairs bedroom. The master bedroom was big enough for the family to fit a pack and play in for the 1 yr old. Some of the kids stayed in the bunkbed kid room and one set of adults slept in the basement on the sleeper sofa. The house had everything there for you. All we had to bring was food and pick up some firewood. It was nice the kids could play in the basement with all the fun things down there, while the adults just relaxed upstairs. The community the house is in is great as well. There was so much to do. It was chilly when we went so we didn't get to swim, but both the lake and pool areas look great. We did the mini golf and arcade up at the club house one day. There is a little zoo (Claws and Paws) that is a 5 minute drive from the house, which was amazing and the kids LOVED it. Two families went to Kalhari waterpark for the day and it was about a 40 minute drive from the house. The neighborhood was quiet as well, which was nice. Whispering woods held up to the name. Host was great and kept in communication with us. He was quick to respond to any questions we had prior to the trip. They even had a little smores kit welcome gift there when arrived. Overall would go back again.

Amazing stay
Very easy check in process, everything was clean and spotless when we first arrived. Perfect for all ages we had infants to 5 year olds, Fun for the whole family. I will be back and recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway

Birthday Celebration
This property was everything (and more) as advertised on Vrbo. This is my 3rd time reserving a home through Vrbo and, once again, I was very pleased. Matt, host, was very communicative and easy to get in touch at all times (although there really was no need since everything was spelled out in the book at the house as well as prior to our visit). Our group thoroughly enjoyed the ping pong and pool tables as well as the 2 TV's in the basement so they didn't have to all agree on what to watch :) The mattresses on the beds were sooo comfortable - everyone who slept in a bed commented. It was a perfect weekend and will plan to return again in the future. Thanks Matt!

Winter vacation 2021
We were two families with teens staying a week after Christmas. Matt was a pleasure to deal with and we found the house clean, well equipped and comfortable, we appreciated the welcome basket too. The teens & adults enjoyed ping pong and video games in the basement. Unfortunately we were not so lucky with the weather and due to lack of snow and mild temps the kids missed out on tubing in the area. The slope in the development was closed and due to open later in the month. We found a few restaurants in the area but they are few and far between. The Settlers Inn was lovely for more upscale dining. Kids also enjoyed bowling in Hawley a few times. I’m sure it is a different experience in the spring and summer when you can use all the facilities of the Hideout and enjoy the lake and pool. We didn’t feel comfortable visiting a large resort such as Kalahari for indoor fun due to uptick in Covid cases but others may feel differently. We enjoyed a relaxing week but the area was a little too quiet for us at the time of year we visited.

The house was lovely, clean and smelled great. Matt was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. It rained all weekend so we stood indoors but the kids still enjoyed themselves. I would definitely stay here again.
