Cute place, perfect location!

Cute place tucked away from noise and traffic. Outdoor shower was a bonus after beach days. Plenty of dining options close by. The area is really changing with many multi unit places, but this place has retained its beachy cottage feel.

Once again, had a wonderful week in Union Pier. As always, it has everything we need, and communication is always easy. The location cannot be beat and the home checks all of our boxes--ample yard space for kids, outdoor shower, porch for morning coffee and meals. We can't wait to come back next year.

The property is just what we needed. Blocks from beach, steps from a wonderful bakery and bike shop, and nice yard for cookouts. We had a great time and the property manager was very responsive to questions and even brought us beach chairs!

On the VBRO website - this place looks great. It's just enough off the beaten path and yet close to all the great amenities that Union Pier has to offer. Beaches, restaurants, antique shopping etc. all within walking distance. not to forget the great communication with our hosts.
If you enjoy being challenged by your host and insinuating that your olfactory organs must be super sensitive and that their blatant efforts to disguise the smell of mold by burning glade candles prior to your check-in to mask the nasty smell of mold which will it work up until about 2am of the 1st night of your stay, this would be the place for you.If spending the rest of your stay in your car for own health safety after being told they would figure something else out sounds good then this is your place! Their standards of clean are questionnable and the presence of mold definitely does pose a health risk to the elderly, young children or potentially has any respiratory issues. When I pointed out where the mold was in my numerous emails to the owner I never received a response other than I was asked to not leave a negative review in exchange for. a discount or money off a next stay. I didn't accept "the in the exchange for.". Next time, we will be staying somewhere else that does not pose a threat to the safety of our health and I suggest you that you do so as well. While Greg and Leann are both very nice, they do not take the safety and health of their guests seriously enough to warrant staying.

I usually go to Union Pier for little getaways and was looking for last minute stay. I found this place and the owner was very prompt and accommodating. It’s a very short walk to the beach and the market shops. Bonus it’s also really close to the Union Pier Social restaurant which has amazing food. We ended up going twice for dinner. Highly recommend this cottage!!

You won’t be disappointed!

We were worried about parking at the beach but we never had a problem finding a spot.
The house was decorated very nicely.
The property manager was very prompt to answer any concerns .
Over all very good stay

Overall we were both very happy for accommodations and well-rested after our stay. My husband has been ill with respiratory issues so he noticed the dust and cobwebs on the living room ceiling fan (I tried to clean with broom), and dark black mold on lower shower tiles.

Really enjoyed our stay. Leann was extremely responsive to questions and requests. It's about a 12 minute walk to a lovely beach with tons of shoreline to walk and not too many crowds! Cute New Buffalo restaurants a short drive away. Thanks for a great last week of summer!

Stayed with my 2 boys (9 & 10) and the property was perfect for us! We were able to walk to the beach, multiple restaurants, and the market. We loved breakfast on the deck and the yard is great for playing catch. Owners were fabulous to work with, we’d definitely stay again!

This cute little house was cozy and secluded. It is several blocks to the beach, but doable. We were there in mid October, and loved the huge dvd library for after sunset time.

I was very happy with the total experience renting this property. Leann and Greg provided outstanding customer service from my initial contact with them and throughout the entire process. They followed up immediately whenever I had questions or needed assistance with anything. The cottage was very comfortable, neat and clean and had so many above and beyond amenities (snacks, beach towels and chairs, books, games, etc). Which were most appreciated.
Thanks much to Leann and Greg for making this vacation a most enjoyable experience.

We had an amazing week staying at the cottage in Union Pier. The house was in the perfect location, and it was so quiet and peaceful. The beach was so much nicer than we could have imagined and our 3 year old absolutely loved it. Will be back to stay here again next year!

Perfect for a long weekend with the kids. They loved the yard. Lots of towels available for the beach (short drive, could of walked but we had a ton of beach stuff).

Perfect for our little family :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and cute. The outside shower was amazing to have for our returns from the beach. It was the perfect amount of space for me, my husband, and our two kids (age 5 & 1). We had room to set up a pack n play in one of the rooms. The kids enjoyed the books and games. The walk to the beach was a little far for me, but to be fair I'm pregnant with twins right now haha. But, it was super easy to just drive down to the beach and we were always able to get parking. The beach was beautiful and not very busy at all. You do need to be prepared to carry all your stuff down and up the steps to the beach, but we managed fine even with two kids and me being pregnant. There isn't much in Union Pier, but the bakery right outside the home was delicious. We made some short drives to other towns such as New Buffalo, Michigan City, and St. Joe's for some other food and activities. Overall, it was a very nice stay and we would recommend this property to others.

Loved our repeat stay
We had another wonderful week in Union Pier and are already looking into booking for a third time in July 2023. The cottage has everything to meet the needs of our family (couple and two kids, 5 and 2). It's always clean and has the kitchen essentials. The location is perfect: we bike or take a short walk over to the best beaches in Harbor Country and good food and coffee are also a short walk or drive away. Easy to get to the Warren Dunes and short drives to really great restauarants. We LOVE the outdoor shower for keeping the house clean and sand-free all week long. The bonus sand toys, inflatable, beach chairs, and umbrella help lighten our load on the drive in. The tucked-away location is great for privacy and and allowing our little ones to run around. Thanks for the hospitality, LeAnn and Greg. See you next year!

Quiet hidden gem in heart of Union Pier
Really enjoyed our stay. The property was exactly as listed. Leann and Greg were very prompt and helpful in e-communications. The house itself was a generous size for me and my boys (ages 11 and 13). Window A/Cs were welcomed on hot days. Outdoor shower was so helpful after the beach. My boys also loved the hammock, lawn for juggling a soccer ball, couch for card games, and proximity to the local bakery (black currant bake house) - yum! We brought our push scooters so it was less than 5-min to the beach for us! Also enjoyed whistle stop grocery and infusco coffee for breakfast. Climbing up the Warren Dunes at least once is a must with kids. And Journeyman Distillery was a fun place for large family dinner outing. Local live outdoor music and food at the Union pier social was fun. And 4th of July fireworks in both directions on the beach lovely. Only suggestion is to let Leann and Gregory know in advance if you are sensitive to smells, as my son’s asthma was triggered by the potpourri aroma from the plug-in air fresheners (that I’m sure the owners would’ve been happy to turn off in advance of our arrival had we known to ask).

False advertising
The photo of the beach access implies it is attached to the rental property. It is not. Majorly disappointed upon arrival.

Super cute house in a great location! Coffee shops, ice cream, and a grocery store were right around the corner. It was a bit of a walk to the beach, but not bad at all. We had a rainy day, so having a wide assortment of puzzles and games was great. Thank you for a great stay!

Three of us ladies went for the weekend and it was amazing - just the right size for us to be comfortable and have what we need. Walk to the beach was a bit longer than anticipated and very small, but New Buffalo Beach was a short drive away and FANTASTIC! So many fun things to do around the area and the cottage was simple while still having everything we needed. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
