This property has been beautifully renovated and decorated. The appliances are new and a treat to use. The back yard is spacious! The hot tub is relaxing and although you must shower before entering, the outside shower has hot water (a plus in 50 degree weather). We did not use the fire table or the grill but both are in brand new condition.
The beds and pillows are comfy as is the living room. We only left the house at the beginning of our stay for grocery shopping and lunch and then returned to the house and enjoyed ourselves.
A lot of the homes on the block are being renovated and expanded and will be beautiful. The lake and the park are very close to the home and in walking distance for children and adults.
When we visited, there was road construction, but the detour signs were clear and easy to follow.

We had such a lovely experience with this property! It’s clean, spacious, easy to get to several beaches and well stocked with everything you could need. I loved the eco friendly touches they incorporated also. Lake street beach is so close you can either walk or drive 2 minutes and park for a small fee. We also drove to Marquette park beach where there was a great playground for littles and a little cafe. We also walked around the park and it’s beautiful. We felt safe the whole time. My only complaint was that we had trouble with local restaurants not being open when they listed online they were so the only thing we would do differently is to plan to cook and bring food. Miller Beach is a great hidden gem and I hope it develops a little more with more restaurants and shops. We will definitely come back!

The backyard was absolutely perfect for our dog. She was relaxed and enjoyed her time there. The walk to the beach was a short jaunt, which was really great. Really, we had everything we needed and the management team was quick and responsive to any of our questions or needs. We very much enjoyed our time in the Miller neighborhood!

We wanted a place close to the beach, and that is what we got. It was an easy walk through trails to get to the lake with our kids and our dogs. We worried about the area being unsafe, but felt very comfortable and safe during our stay. The outdoor shower was perfect for getting clean after a day at the beach. The grass did not seem like it had been cut in a while, so we didn’t utilize the yard as much as we would have liked. Other than that, the house accommodated us (3 adults, 4 kids, 2 dogs) well. It was perfect for what we wanted, to relax and enjoy the beach with family.

I'll be honest - When u 1st drive in, the area might seem a little sketch... BUT hold on to your britches - It's so amazing U will be sad to leave!! I can't say ENOUGH good things about this listing. Get ready to chill, hike, Sunset beach walks, grill, hot tub & have a blast!!
Clean & perfectly set up for a family!! We have 5 people that included 3 teen daughters & were super comfortable. Could easily accommodate 7.
AWESOME location!! there is dune hiking & paths behind the house that lead to one of the beaches, we also saw deers daily on our walks because part of the dunes are very grove like with grases & teees. If U have littles U can drive just down the block & park for a much shorter access to beachfront. Millers Market 9 miles away for grocery & awesome meat / seafood mart on the corner from the house.
The house is well stocked with all the kitchen things including wine glasses, Games, cards, towels ( might want to bring your own beach towels if u like the super big ones), bath towels, K-cups, excellent pillows, extra blankets for cool nights, literally everything!!!
Bring extra paper towels when u grocery shop, plastic cups for when ur in hot tub & TP ... I feel we go through a lot of TP in our family though .. Also bring your own beach chairs if u like - there is plenty of seating in backyard.
Twinkle light Backyard was like a mini oasis!! Hot tub, fire pit feature, Hammock, fenced in backyard, gas grill, AND plenty of chairs for the entire family!

House was beautiful we definitely enjoyed our time there and really appreciate the communication with the host and allowing our extra vehicle to park at the house. Only a few things we were a bit dissappointed in we didnt really get to use hot tub due to the fact it smelled like a strong fish odor . And the bathroom doorknob was loose so you can see through it . But overall was a nice house and we enjoyed our time there . Would still recommened this house for future bookings .

Indoor amenities were great - yard needs work.
Our family stayed at this property for an extended weekend getaway. 9 people in total. Everyone enjoyed the indoor electronics and amenities such as fans in rooms, noise makers to help us sleep, and tvs in all the rooms. The house was clean, but had some broken cabinet knobs and minor repairs needed in the bathroom to bathtub and floor…The outdoor area had the potential to be really nice. However, the kids in our group were not able to play out in the yard due to overgrown grass, sticks & limbs down all in the yard, and dog droppings left in the yard. The back fence is also in a state of disrepair that gives a trashier vibe than what is seen in the listing pictures.

Lake Michigan, Sandhill Flat
We enjoyed our stay and the pictures are pretty accurate. The back yard is muddy and from other reviews has been since last summer. If I had little kids or a dog it would not have been a place for them to play. The fence around the yard could use some work. The inside was spotless and had everything we needed. The bathroom had a problem and the manager sent a very nice handyman to fix it. It was very close to the lake, just around the corner and down the street. We hiked on two occasions and the trailheads were very near. This house is in a quiet neighborhood and a great location to enjoy the National Park. As an aside we had a great lunch at Vibrations Health Wellness and Juice Bar. Compared to other rentals we have used all over the country, we felt the price was a little high.

The house pictures are exact. The house is clean, well-stocked and comfortable. The yard is fenced and large. The kitchen is well stocked with all the things you need to make meals and enjoy your break. Nice grill for cooking outside. The neighborhood is nice around and the dunes and beach just fantastic. We will return and highly recommend

We had a great time at this property. The weather was perfect and the water was gorgeous. The beach is very close to this property but it is VERY crowded on the weekends! During the week, it is so much better and basically empty. This property has mostly everything you need to feel at home and was very clean. Yes, the yard was torn up from issues with the septic tank but I’m sure grass will be planted again when they get a chance.

1. When we first booked the check in time was 4 PM, but as our booking got closer we were told that we could not check in until 5 PM. My family and I left our home (which is 5 hours away from the VRBO) an hour later so we did not have to wait around or pay an extra fee to check in earlier. We are told the day of (while in route) that we could check in at 4 PM instead. This was an inconvenience.
2. While in route to the VRBO we received a call from VRBO to tell us that the yard had been dug up due to some septic issues, but there was sand covering it. When we arrived we realized that this was a huge portion of the yard, it was disgusting and super messy when walking in and out of the house.
3. In addition to the very messed up yard an 8 foot section of lattice was missing from the "privacy fence" making the fence only 3 foot tall in that section. My husband had to repair this (with the property manager's permission) so that we could maintain privacy since there were lots of people walking by behind the fence.
4. In addition to the fence, my husband had to fix two safety issues. There was a large nail sticking out of the island that my children could have stuck themselves on, as well as a large nail in the cabinet that we were in an out of for snacks and food.
5. The bedrooms did not have darkening shades. In fact, the room adjacent to the kids room had only shear blinds covering the windows. They honestly could have put nothing up and it would have been about the same.
6. The spout in the bathtub is not attached to the wall, and when we would take a shower the water would literally stop every few minutes.
7. On Monday 6/21 we had planned to go to the Indiana Dunes, but received a text from the property manager that morning that the owner would be on site. “He would definitely need access to the yard, but may or may not need access to the house.” We were uncomfortable leaving our belongings unattended so we decided to stay home that day. The owner never came and we lost an entire day that we had planned.
8. The hot tub was dark and musky after only using it a couple of times. The property manager brought over some chemicals for us to shock it on Wednesday. It helped with the smell, but the water remained dark and dirty looking.
9. On our very last day/night the air conditioner went out and it was another miserable night.
10. No mirrors besides bathroom, no dressers for clothes, they won’t allow thermostat to go lower than 70.
