Please note: this cottage is on a working farm! With that, comes farm animals, farm flies and farm aromas (especially if the wind comes from the right direction). It makes it difficult to enjoy the outdoors. If you have allergies, this could be a problem. What’s not in the pictures is a cattle barn which is within 40 feet of the cottage. While we were there, 18 cows resided in that barn (according to the farm hands who were present everyday). Down the road were hogs. The cottage was perfect for a couple. It was very clean and spacious. Towels and sheets were very soft. Kitchen had the essentials, including coffee. Was looking forward to the “hard” mattress mentioned in previous reviews. It’s not there any more. Very centrally located to local attractions and state parks. Overall, we were satisfied, but would have appreciated more up-front clarification about the venue. You have to “dig” in the information to find out it’s a working farm.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay (4 nights) in the Country Cottage. Extremely clean, spacious, had everything we needed. Beautiful surroundings after a day of viewing the Creation Museum and The Ark. We didn't mind the barn on the other side of the cottage. We prefer "country" and animals versus city and suburbs. Great communication with property owner; zero issues. We were delighted with our vacation!

It was amazing. The cottage was so beautiful, comfortable a cozy home away from home. The property it is on is beyond beautiful and so quiet and peaceful. The cottage is on a working farm with cattle and pigs. No worry about anyone disturbing your stay! The farm hands came and went early. Our car battery died the first morning of our stay. We contacted the property manager and Gina had one of her guys out to us within 15 minutes to give us a jump! I highly recommend a stay in this beautiful cottage! Jennifer

Beautiful little cottage in a beautiful Kentucky setting. It was conveniently located near The Ark Encounter. We really enjoyed watching the fireflies and wildlife in the evenings.

Property was so cozy and inviting ! It was super clean! Nice to get away and enjoy relaxing in the countryside.

This location is incredibly peaceful and charming- exactly as advertised! We chose this location based on its proximity to the Ark. It provides a comfortable stay with everything a traveler could ask for, while being surrounded with picturesque landscapes. The hosts were helpful and answered all of our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here!

Weather was perfect and it is a nice location. Not seen in pics is a barn just across the diveway but not a problem if your not looking for more seclusion. The property is beautiful with cows grazing. The only issue was our last day to relax the lawn mainteance with all the acres available parked 10 feet from the front door with the three mowers running and hanging out. Overall a very nice stay

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and relaxing. The only surprise was the pictures make it seem like it is far away from barns, fences, etc but it is right next to both and not far from the main house. This was not a problem just unexpected. When we first got there my husband was dive bombed by a family of robins who were not excited about new neighbors. They left and we didn’t see them again (the baby was old enough to fly). We had lunch at Hansie Flip Burger and it was wonderful. Beef is from the farm with the cottage. Would recommend this to others visiting Ark or Creation Museum.

We rented the Holland Country Cottage for a short getaway for our anniversary, his birthday, and my birthday. It was the perfect place for some peace and quiet from our normally hectic daily lives. It’s just a short trip to the Ark Encounter and a very reasonable drive to the Creation Museum. Breakfast at Bean’s was fantastic both mornings (we even brought two loaves of Ancient Grain Bread home with us), and supper at Kelly’s Homestead is a must. The cottage was wonderful. It could have used a dusting prior to arrival, but it wasn’t anything filthy. Already provided information about the Holland Country Cottage to other couples that are planning Ark trips.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Loved it. The only thing I had a problem with was the bed. It was way to hard and I hurt the whole weekend from it.

Peaceful location and quick response time from Gina with any questions. Next time, will schedule some downtime in our visit to enjoy the cottage.

We traveled from CT during Thanksgiving week. We were pleased with the cottage. It was very spacious and we found it comfortable. I was concerned with a few reviews stating the bed was a little hard, so I packed a mattress pillow top. The only thing I was not a fan of was the shower stall. It reminded me of a camp or school shower with the spray facing towards the curtain. It was difficult to shower without getting your hair wet. But it was minor annoyance compared to all the plus's. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Hilarious hogs racing down the hill, cattle lowing nearby. Beautiful surroundings to walk around. The cottage is far enough from the main road which made it very peaceful. Close to the Ark, Creation museum, restaurants, and stores. Very enjoyable stay. Thank you!

This was the perfect place for me and my husband to stay for a short vacation. It is close enough to attractions (we went to the Ark Encounter and then on to Newport Aquarium and then other things like the Willam Arnold Log Cabin) but out in the country so it was quiet and beautiful. We had everything we needed.

Great location, nice place and clean, just a super hard bed. If you have any sort of back issues then plan on sleeping on the couch because you won't be able to sleep in the bed. They are great to rent from with quick reply if you have any questions. Nice and easy to work with.

Cozy, clean cottage and Perfect location to visit The Ark Encounter. Beautiful scenery and quiet countryside for rest and relaxation. Would definitely stay here again.
