Enjoy the boat experience!

Superb service, they sent me all the info for a smooth checkin. The guard helped with my bags through the stairs. The owners were always ready to help by whatsapp. Zalamek tower is walking distance. Good place if you want a different experience, I had a good stay.

Most services are there, however, never forget it is a big boat! It was a cabin boat, be prepared for water movement, reduced space and odor to fish. Also, the entrance is hidden on the back of a bridge. The popular resturants and bars are on the other side of the river/island, the houseboat is on the Giza side.

I had a wonderful time at Houseboat65 and would stay there again!

Everything, once I figured out how to find it by myself. The breakfast is great, the view is amazing- I love watching the crew practice on the Nile on the morning and even the party boats at night. Zamalek is a nice, safe place for sole female tourists to visit alone.

Unique cairo experience

Incredible staff very welcoming. The place inside the boat is amazing all in wood just in front of the Nile. Because the house float it can move a bit with some waves but we slept even better rocked by the nile. The bedding was very confortable and the breakfast amazing! It's a truly unique experience in cairo.

Memorable

The houseboat is perfect from all aspects. The decoration is unique peace of art in every single detail. The view is amazing , you just spend the whole day in the houseboat and it is never enough. You feel comfortable and relaxed.would like to thank Mr Jonny for his house and for the kind and cheerful reception.

Happy with our choice of staying here.

Very nice location and it's fabulous views to look at the Nile river. The host team was extremely helpful and responsive.

We have had a few issues with the shower. I think the place is quite old and not got enough pressure for the shower water, although they tried to do something with the shower head. I don't think it worked.

A truely unique stay in this amazing city!

An accomodation with history and character, style and cosiness. We loved everything about it. The great location, the unique style, the amazing hosts and their team, waking up with this incredible view!

Perfect and unique! Absolutely worth it to stay here!!!!

Wow! What a special place!! I absolutely loved staying here. The decor is so tasteful and elegant and with all the comfort! I spent a long time in the sun room on the sun lounger and various sofas. The bathroom is beautifully designed also and I enjoyed long baths ! Very thoughtful touches like the maps and information about local cafes, restaurants, galleries, sights etc. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful! The staff are wonderful - kind, friendly, sincere and helpful! It was a perfect stay. I definitely recommend this place !!

Can be a bit noisy with passing river traffic, but they provide ear plugs which is very thoughtful. I actually liked the noise as it was just passing and felt very immersive into the river culture.

Really enjoyed. Was a great way to end our Egypt holiday.

This place is so cute. Loved being right on the Nile. Having a washing machine was a bonus. And the breakfast was fab !

Tad noisy at night with the party boats going up and down the Nile. But they supply earplugs so really not that much of an issue. Also hard to find but I’m told they are rectifying that.

Amazing facility with themed furniture boho artistic vibe! Much recommend as visiting the pyramids. You dont have to deal with cafes and restaurants by the Nile to enjoy the view you can just stay at the boat even working remotely is a very nice idea specially the balcony

It’s an interesting experience

The most unique and relaxing stay in Cairo.

For a loud busy city, this houseboat was much quieter than expected (provided earplugs were not needed). The large gorgeous rooms were comfortable. The manager was so kind and helpful. The guard insured our arrival was safe and carried our bags. The ambiance of the party boats going by and the teams rowing brought life to the river while we lounged in the hammocks, gently rocked by the soft waves! Superb!

I didn't like having to leave. I wish I had more time.

I would definitely revisit the place.. all by the nile, clean, cozy and simple! the location is close to most of the great restaurants in Zamalek.. only a5-10 mins ride with uber.

unique property which could be a gem with a little work done

the view the location the staff

the layout (you have to pass through the bathroom to access the bedroom) the temperature (too cold) it’s old & should undergo at least light renovation (we could feel the wind through the doors & windows)

A stay to remember, very different & special, not luxurious like a 4-5 star hotel but well worth it

Location was just perfect, quite, safe and close to major attractions Took a minute to catch a cab across the street, next to a famous football club

So unique and atmospheric unlike the aging sterile hotels. Communication was great 😃

Unique experience if you are OK to accept a few inconveniences

Location on river - really peaceful place to recharge batteries during afternoon break from visiting (Cairo is stressful!) Fastest internet we had in Egypt Hosts not present but respond very fast by whats app Unique experience Comfy bed

Road traffic noise at night (like many places in Cairo) No heating in winter Need to take taxi to get anywhere (Uber and Egyptian Sim card very useful) Bit expensive given fittings are basic

A unique opportunity to experience life on the Nile!

Paola’s hospitality was exceptional, with the houseboat being the perfect escape and relax from of a city that never sleeps!

The agreed check in time was delayed by upon arrival. We waited in the garden area for an hour whilst the cleaner finished preparing the Glasshouse for us. The next day we had pre-booked a traditional cooked breakfast at the houseboat but the cook was a no-show. After waiting 30 mins we contacted Paola and were told there was a last-minute issue with the cook and she couldn't make it. She apologized and helped us with an alternative solution. Both incidents were an inconvenience but we did not let them spoil our stay.

Bliss on the Nile!

This was the most beautiful and atmospheric place I've ever stayed in Cairo. The hosts had gone the extra mile to welcome us, with fresh fruit in the fridge, use of an iron and washing machine, slippers in the bedroom and even earplugs in case the Cairo noise got too much (it didn't). They also provided a handy folder listing local services with maps and other useful information, including catered meals that could be delivered to the boat. The quirky interior was a delight, and the riverside mooring, set in a lovely garden, was both central and peaceful. It was hard to leave, and we're already looking forward to future visits!

Access wasn't the easiest, but that's only to be expected in a property of this age and type.

If you going to experience Cairo, staying on this houseboat was really a great experience.

Self catering, although the security didn't speak english he was most helpful and attentive, great service. Jarome was quick to answer queries and recommendations were great. The restaurant recommendations were especially good, we tried a restaurant that wasn't on the list and we left and reverted to only eating at the recommended restaurants listed in the house manuel

Pillows were rather hard but Jarome exchanged them quickly for softer pillows
