Great location! Walking distance to downtown Dartmouth. Short car ride to downtown Halifax. The loft was clean, spacious, and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The code for the door was very nice and better than using keys or a key card. Host was very communicative, helpful, and attentive to our needs. We came from another country and didn’t have data and the host made sure we were still able to check in and get into the loft by giving us backup codes ahead of time.

de locatie, dichtbij de ferry naar Halifax.
de trap die we op moesten, hoewel vantevoren aangegeven.trap was steil en smal en met 2 zware koffers was 't een beetje moeilijk.

Clean, comfortable, great location…easy walk to Alderney ferry to Halifax. Nice having a Keurig coffeemaker in the apartment.
Difficult walk up 3 flights of outdoor stairs to the apartment.

Unique loft that felt spacious, even with the angled ceilings. Lots of character and in a great location :) Our 17 year old daughter slept in a cute cubby that had room for a queen air mattress seen in picture attached. She said it was great.
The coffee station had great options and the space felt homey. Nice bed, great linens, extremely clean. The property owner was quick to respond to questions and the binder left in the room was very informative. Excellent all around!
The stairs to the space were a bit scary but only because you could see through them and they were steep. VERY safe but still not for those that are afraid of heights lol

Very nice location, lots of choices on coffee and tea, adequate supply of towels, and much local travel info provided.
Ventilation is not adequate, and windows can't be opened.

location was good. right downtown, free parking, near ferry. it has a coffee maker, small stove, fridge, toaster.-good for a longer-ish stay. nest thermostat and fire stick for tv. electronic door lock can be accessed by your phone. host was responsive, all through booking.com site
these observations don’t make it a bad property, but should be noted for the traveler. keeping in mind that it’s a historic home, it’s an attic. you literally walk up 3 flights of fire escape (with your bags in tow!) to get there. it may be my age or being uncomfortable with heights, but that was a bad first impression for me. it is not air conditioned and it’s an attic. it was so hot and stuffy . we had to try to open the windows, which don’t stay open on their own and had no screens. also with the attic-the gables and slanted roof lines look cozy, but be prepared to smack your head quite a few times! it is also next to a food pantry (there were no problems, but people showing up to get food when we got there was unsettling) also, there was way too much automated communications! way too much! for a one night stay, there is also a high cleaning fee. there was also an email, after confirming, that you either pay a straight out fee for security deposit ($25 free money since we didn’t damage anything!), or give them your card number for a $350 hold. all of these communications, and the electronic check in and door lock were somewhat difficult as we are not from Canada and had spotty/costly internet.

Pillow cases were dirty but the host quickly came and brought new ones.

Great location, Very clean!
Everything was well equipped, communication with the owner was smooth, receiving kind responses that all met our needs (e.g. update an oven due to its not being functional, providing a flower vase)
sloping ceiling made us constantly hit our head on the ceiling for first 2 days.., actually walkable space was very limited,
shower door was hard to close/ open
windows are not very clean..

We (3 adults) were mostly out - except for sleeping and snacking - so these things did not really matter.

Very good communication from the host. Easy to check in and out. Property was clean and comfortable. Some good extras like coffee pods. Location in the heart of Dartmouth and very handy for eating out and the ferry into Halifax.
The apartment is a loft apartment so the ceilings are sloping. This means that much of the room space isn't useable. It wasn't a problem for me as I was travelling alone so didn't need much space, but might be tighter with a couple, particularly if they are tall. Access to the apartment is via quite a lot of stairs - not a problem for me but might be for some people.

There was a problem with the entry code not working but the owner came immediately and fixed the problem.
We were going to use the appartment for cooking but there was a nearby restaurant (the Canteen") that was so good, we went there three nights in a row. So we never used the kitchen.
I was going to a conference in Halifax and I took the ferry over every day. It was just five minutes away.
The outside stairs to the appartment are not for the old and infirm!

Location was good. very clean and quiet… a lovely spot.
I found the stairs up the back a little precarious for me.

I really enjoyed how clean the rental unit was and how polite and responsive the staff were.
I did not enjoy how uncomfortable the bed was. It probably would've been more comfortable to sleep on the air mattress

A really lovely apartment, very clean and charming. All the amenities, including a full selection of coffee and tea pods. Great location, close to restaurants, cafes, pubs. Just a short walk to the ferry that takes you to Downtown Halifax. Excellent value for money, highly recommended. Wish we had stayed longer!

Amazing location! 5-minute walk to the ferry to Halifax and close to many restaurants. The host gave us all the information needed and much more. He provided us a crib for our baby and an umbrella. We have nothing negative to say. We had a fantastic stay.

Cozy apartment with everything we could need! location was great for exploring both Dartmouth and Halifax waterfronts. 5 minute walk to Dartmouth/Halifax ferry as well as lots of restaurants, bars and cafes.
The stairs are a bit scary if you’re scared of heights!

The unit is a historic building in the Dartmouth area, with the house dating back to 1909. The house is actually one of the few remaining that survived the 1917 Halifax Explosion. The unit has a small keypad next to the door to lock and unlock the door, although a physical key was available if requested. The unit featured a small kitchenette with some amenities, which were a thankful bonus. I didn't stay too long, so I didn't take advantage of the hotplate or toaster, but I did make use of the coffee maker while I was stuck waiting with work stuff. Should I find myself returning to Halifax/Dartmouth, I will definitely be booking here again!
Only once was there ice build-up at the bottom of the stairs, which caused a slip-and-fall, but no injury. As the weather was warming, the issue was addressed by the host by way of sand/salt, and natural heat melting the ice.
