Situated in Scipio, this lovely house for $1,218 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Summary: Welcome to The Samuel Adams House! Nestled on the east side of Owasco Lake in Auburn, NY, this wonderful estate was the former summer home of literary treasure, Samuel Hopkins Adams. The Space: This amazing stone Tudor was painstakingly renovated to its former glory and was recently introduced to rentals in July of 2019. It sits on over 1.2 private acres and has 6,500sf, sleeps 14 people and features 6 TRUE bedrooms all with queen beds, 4 1/2 bathrooms, 3 living rooms which includes a billiard room, chefs kitchen with high end appliances and 2 four seasons sitting porches. All four full bathrooms and the main level sitting porch have heated floors. There is also three separate forced air HVAC systems that provide air conditioning and/or heating to all areas of the home. There are two gas fire places. One in the billiard room and one in the great room. The lakefront is truly impressive. This historic home boasts over 160 feet of private level lakefront. The fishing is amazing right off of the dock! We also have four kayaks, two paddle boards and a mooring buoy available for your enjoyment. House and property were perfect for our family. Plenty of room for everyone. Noisy little kids up at 6 AM had a playroom downstairs away from the bedrooms!

House was great! There were 9 of us and we were able to spread out as there was 6 bedrooms. Some facing the lake. House was very clean and very well stocked. We loved kayaking everyday right off the property. Awesome weekend!

This home is amazing. It is located on Owasco lake and had the most stunning views. The sunsets were awesome. The bedrooms are spacious, and it had a big open kitchen, that was well stocked with plates, silverware, cups and many different types of glassware. The owner was extremely responsive and very easy to deal with. My family traveled from all over the country to attend a wedding in Auburn, which is a great town that had a selection of grocery stores, hair salons and any other service you may need. I would highly recommend this home and would stay again.

This house is large but still so warm and welcoming. Very well maintained. Lots of rooms to sit in and reflect. The stream alongside the home was a favorite. The views were all beautiful. The outdoor area was perfect for enjoying nice weather. Wonderful stay.

The property was amazing. Clean, beautiful with many places where we could come together yet places we could find privacy to be by ourselves. The creek that bordered the property created wonderful sounds to fall to sleep to. Absolutely beautiful place.

Loved this beautiful home located on Owasco Lake..it was so perfect for our annual family getaway..so many awesome memories were made visiting by the fire pit and by the lake..we all enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks that were provided..the kitchen is beautifully updated and well equipped with everything we needed to prepare our meals..the billiards room is awesome..my husband’s favorite room..the bedrooms were beautiful and the beds very comfortable..The owner was always available to answer any questions or requests we had and was amazing to deal with.. Skaneatles is only a 20 minute drive and is a beautiful little town with great restaurants..I can’t say enough good about this home..I would definitely stay here again.

We rented this home for a weekend Friendsgiving. It was perfect. The home is huge yet still warm and inviting. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed the Billiards room. The pictures don’t do it justice.

Fabulous Home & Location
We had a fabulous stay. Loved the kitchen and dining area. The living room with windows to the lake was awesome each morning at sunrise. The billiard room was a huge hit. Would love to stay again in the summer.

Due to the pandemic, we were unable to celebrate my 80th birthday last year as a family. However, we celebrated Thanksgiving along with my 81st birthday at the Adams House this year. The rooms were lovely, beautifully decorated, and very spacious. My two daughter-in-laws and a son enjoyed preparing fantastic meals in the large kitchen. The area outdoors was very quiet and peaceful. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely!!! Thank you!!!

Due to the pandemic, we were unable to celebrate my 80th birthday last year as a family. However, we celebrated Thanksgiving along with my 81st birthday at the Adams House this year. Sam Adams house is an amazing place. The house is spacious and just as described. The lake front area is nice. The weather didn’t give us much opportunity to enjoy outside, but when the weather cleared, the night sky was absolutely amazing! The place is peaceful and quiet. We hope to stay there again in the future.

The home was beautiful and made for a terrific stay. Only issue we had was a little too far from the winery tours we were interested in but we made it work.

Great family stay
This is a great property! Lakefront, peaceful and beautiful. The home is well stocked w what you need for a vacation stay- well appointed kitchen, fishing poles, kayaks, paddle boards & firepit. All the rooms w comfortable furniture etc. We were there for a family celebration and it was perfect! Hope to be back soon!

Beautiful spacious clean home! We had a great stay at your beautiful property this past weekend celebrating years of friendship and our 60th birthdays. We were so comfortable and had excellent weather. We enjoyed the home playing games in the evening including pool, bocce, hiking, yoga in the great room, kayaking, and fires! We have discovered Owasco Lake and it’s beauty. We are looking to rebook for another trip next year.

However I wanted to because we have been to several properties in the finger lakes and this was the most accommodating and beautiful. We will definitely be returning.

The Samuel Adams house is huge with large spaces for gathering and plenty of beautiful private paces. The construction is top quality – solid wood doors, USB outlets everywhere, comfortable beds, heated floors in bathrooms, well stoked kitchen with tons of cabinets, and enclose, peaceful porches. There is a babbling brook that runs under a section of the home – incredibly peaceful. We were at The Samuel Adams house on Wide Waters Lane to run a virtual conference and the entire event was flawless – 100% up time on the internet, a lovely home on a beautiful lake. It was November – we thoroughly enjoyed the fireplaces and fire pit. The house is large and allows space for social distancing inside and out. Debbie, the owner (and Rick) was there to help with anything we needed – especially when we discovered it is tough to get an Uber to go to the airport. If you are flying in, Uber and Lyft are readily available at the airport but not at the house. A rental car is a good idea for to/from the airport. Instacart delivers to the house from multiple stores in Auburn so there is no reason to leave the property during your stay. We highly recommend this home and would be 100% confident that any property Debbie and Rick have would be as wonderfully appointed as the Samuel Adams House.

Celebration of our parent's 67th Anniversary (12 adults)
This was even better than the online photos. We were amazed at every room, loved every inch and enjoyed the décor. We were fortunate to have record temperatures in November and were able to enjoy the sunshine on the porch, firepit, lakefront and scenic walks.
We plan to visit the Samual Adams House again!!!

The main living room is huge and has a beautiful cobblestone fireplace and large tv with plenty of seating. The owners also have another room made entirely of cobblestone that they turned into a beautiful billiard room. There is a large tv with plenty of seating at the pub tables. Might I add that both of these rooms have drop dead gorgeous lake views! There is also another living room that is off the kitchen and two separate four season sitting porches, perfect to read a book or enjoy some quiet time. The kitchen is beautiful and is nicely equipped and a wood stove is a nice added bonus! There are also 6 bedrooms and 6 1/2 bathrooms!! The lakefront is unlike anything we’ve seen on the Fingerlakes. It’s over a one acre compound that is very private from other properties and you actually have to drive over the owners private bridge to get here! The beachfront is incredibly spacious and we enjoyed fishing and kayaking every day we were there. I can’t say enough about this property. During the days of the shutdown due to COVID-19, we counted down the days until we could finally get away and get out of the house and we are so thankful that we chose this property. Thank you so much to Debbie and Rick. We deeply appreciate all that you did to make our vacation so memorable! This was our first visit to this magical property but it certainly won’t be our last! We will be calling you very soon to book again in 2021!!
