Great house, fun games and activities. The only issue was the basement floors definitely need a deep clean.

We had a family get together for my mom's birthday, and the house was perfect! There were 5 adults and two kids, everyone had a great time! Lots of games to play, plenty of space to watch movies, and get away from the family if needed. We spent most of our time in the game room. Property management was responsive to all questions we had and even had recommendations for things to do.

Upon arrival, the furniture was all stacked from having carpets cleaned, the thermostat was set at 90 degrees, and the beds were not made. The property was inaccurately advertised as "fully furnished." There were limited towels for amount of people the property was advertised to accommodate, cleanliness of the property was below average, the refrigerator didn't work, limited toilet paper and kleenex available, smoke alarms were hanging down from the ceiling, towel racks falling from the wall, no access to laundry, etc... The basement space was great for a group gathering where wonderful family memories were made. Great location, with easy access to everything. If the advertised accommodations were accurate and simple upkeep was done, this would be a great rental!

I would recommend this house to others . Lots of room and the basement was great for entertaining everyone.

Management went above and beyond we will be staying here again when we come in town, good family people!
All around house was very clean and well kept up
And a great outdoors cooking area but once again management won us over make you feel like your family

Everything was good other than when people stay for a week they should have access to a washer and dryer to wash towels. Also, the grill needs a replacing, one burner didn’t work and it is rusted out.

The home was clean, bedrooms were comfortable, and the basement was AWESOME. There were some public works' problems but the Manager was very responsive & helpful.

This property was large enough for our family of 15. The basement area was set up nicely for family time. The beds, linens and towels as well as extra items in the bathrooms like toothpaste, bath products was a nice touch.
It wasn't very clean however and some of the things didn't work right (Fridge, grill, smoke detectors). I let the managing group know so hopefully those items will get taken care of for future stays. The set up and accommodations were nice, just the details of items not working was rough, and very hard to communicate with the person whose name and number we had.

15 of our family members gathered with ages ranging from 18months to 65.
There was something for everyone. The game room downstairs was a big hit.
The small touches of bathroom amenities were a nice addition as well as games on hand.

This house was rented for a family trip to Adventureland. The ages ranged from infant through adult. The basement game room was a huge hit with all the kids. This made for a pleasant experience for the adults as well since the kids basically had their own space. Both the kids & adults enjoyed the hot tub. There was plenty of space and bedrooms (beds) to accommodate 4 families. There were a couple of minor issues I addressed with the owner and they were prompt at answering the phone and with solving the issues. One minor drawback to the property is it is on a busy main street, but the back yard & deck provide plenty of privacy and the traffic noise is not bad. The stay and experience were wonderful. I strongly recommend this property for a great get away experience. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

This house and property were perfect for our gathering with lots of space, beds and fun activities to accommodate our family and friends inside and out. The pictures online captured the essence of the house appropriately. Nice little touches with available toothbrushes & paste, floss, mints, aspirin and antacids.

We had our family Christmas weekend at the Mecca & it couldn’t have been a more perfect set up! Plenty of room for all, comfortable beds, & every modern convenience you could need. The best part of course was the family room downstairs. We had so much fun having ping pong & pool tournaments and the kids enjoyed the arcade games as well. The manger Steven was wonderful to work with. Hope we can spend our holidays here every year!

My kids loved it!
Totally worth the price when I saw the smile on my 17 year old's face when he saw the basement. Everyone had a great time and the house was very well appointed.

Lots of sleeping accommodations, good setup with recreation area. Not good for older people or those with mobility issues. All furniture very low for anyone to get up from, Could have used some folding chairs or higher comfortable chairs for us old “folks”. Biggest disappointment was TVs on main floor couldn’t be used- when called owner did respond and did not realize there was a problem. But of course couldn’t fix then. Good thing we had strong young men who could carry my 82 year old spouse with Parkinson’s to the basement to watch the Hawkeye game. But our younger people loved the low relaxing couches and we really did have a good time with our family.

We booked this property to accommodate a family group with mixed ages. The house was OK- flipped house made for bachelor parties/family groups like ours. The room we stayed in had 2 beds but then partitioned off from the rest of the house with panels that were a little strange. Kitchen was nice and well stocked. We used the gas grill, it was not clean but functional enough to be fine. We couldn't find the TV remotes for one of the TV's, the owner couldn't find it either when he came in [more on that later]. Basement was great with large bar, pool table, large fridge, arcade games for the kids. I had to call the owner when we arrived to fix the door code to let us in (he did answer right away so that was no big deal). The owner told me that he wanted to stop by that night to set up outdoor Halloween decorations... which we found a little odd that he'd pick the night our group stayed at his house to do this? We stayed on an early September weekend so still 6 weeks until Halloween. The next night the owner came to the door again and was working outside with his family on the Halloween decor. He was clearly very excited about this but again we found it awkward timing. Overall it worked fine to accommodate our group. Better than staying in a hotel but would not stay there again. This place is perfect for college kids maybe tho!

Came into the house with the wrong check in number listed, one vrbo two different numbers one said last four of the reservation number other was specific. Walked into dirty linens right at the front door with no beds made and nothing cleaned. Contacted the number listed, Julie was the name listed and said to contact her for quick resolution and she said her and the host have been divorced for two years, and she doesn’t have contact with him. After multiple texts and a few calls I finally got ahold of the host who seemed very confused. Took an hour for someone to come take care of it and then they were cleaning the property while my guest for the function arrived. There was 200$ left on my room dresser that either the cleaning crew took or the next guest took, we left a cooler and haven’t been able to get in contact with the host to have it returned. My friends mom was attempting to help her out of the hot tub (which has a giant gap between the hot tub and deck, mind you that is the only location to enter the hot tub) and Her leg fell through the crack and she got stuck, had to have two people help her out of it, and it left her with the worse bruise I have ever seen. And a lovely trip to the ER via ambulance because her mom wasn’t able to bear weight on the leg and she was sleeping in the basement. Had to do a late check out because of all of this and have the cleaning crew work around them while they waited for the ambulance. I would like to get a call back from the host and get the issue resolved for the cooler and 200$ that was taken. Also honestly between the cleaning issue when we arrived and her mom hurting herself that badly due to horrible placement of a hot tub which is probably not even up to code, I want some reimbursement for this horrible situation for how much this property costed for one night I think that’s the least that can be done.

From the reviews & online pictures, the house looks great so we were excited to be able to take our family (ranging in age from 2 yrs to 60+) on a vacation to Des Moines! In the beginning I did have a little trouble with additional person fee in the booking process. I was charged a fee for any adult or kid over a six person minimum but the listing & contract I signed during my second payment said I would be charged for any person over 8. I tried messaging the property manager several times to get it fixed but most of the time my questions went unanswered. So now we’re out that money, which is a bummer because at it’s definitely one of the most expensive VRBOs we’ve stayed in but the least equipped (see more below). When we arrived the directions for check in that were sent to me said to use the last four digits of my phone number. We tried that multiple times and it didn’t work, so I had to call the property manager to even get inside. Once we got inside, the house appeared outwardly clean, but we could see that some of the furniture was a little run down and in need of some TLC (broken couch, broken dining room chair, towel warmer, grill, missing basic kitchen items, etc.). Then as we got to unpacking we noticed that the corners of the rooms and window sills hadn’t been tended to from the cleaning crew (dust, dead bugs, etc.). As we started preparing dinner that night on the grill, the propane tank was empty and we were out of dishwashing soap for the upstairs dishwasher. That night the kids were playing games downstairs and we discovered one of the games had naked woman and men on it but the property says it’s kid friendly. The next morning I called the property manager to share all this but wasn’t able to get ahold of him right away. The VM I received said not to leave a message and, at check in, they told me not to text, so I had to keep calling until I got someone to call me back. (Side note: the VM also said that they were only available during business hours during the week so not sure what you would do if you need them after hours???). The property manager told me where I could find some more soap, apologized about the cleanliness and said he’d bring a propane tank for the grill. Overall, feedback from our family was that the house was the worst part of the trip, which is a bummer because we spent a lot of money. House may be better suited for bachelorette parties versus families.

We had a family reunion with 15 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. We were able to accommodate everyone with a bed or a couch which worked well for us. The house has a great back yard and there were spectacular fireworks across the street. Overall the house is well equipped and has a lot of common areas to gather in. Some of the sleeping areas aren't necessarily private because of their location but it worked well for our group. We enjoyed the game room, the fire pit, and the hot tub. We set up lots of yard games and took advantage of the large property. Would definitely recommend.

The perfect bachelor party home base experience
I hosted my bachelor party weekend at the party mecca and it was absolutely the perfect spot. This place has everything you could ask for. Arcade games, pool table, ping pong, hot tub, grill and a banging pro level kitchen. We had such a great time staying here. Get ready to crowd around the basement wet bar for tequila shots!
