We had a very nice stay at Martha's cottage. The cottage is very comfortable and had everything we needed.

Fabulous rural location overlooking the water. A great base for our 2 week family holiday. Walks around the reservoir are lovely and local pubs offer great food and i would highly recommend the Fleece. One of the rooms is described as a twin but both of the 1st floor rooms seem to be single. There are a lot of thoughtful touches throughout the house eg games, books, kitchen implements. It has all amenities required. Unfortunately it wasn't as clean as we'd have liked. The attic room is very cute and has great views, but not very practical with not being able to stand up straight due to the low ceiling. We both banged our heads a few times. We encountered a few issues including the shower stall not draining at first so we couldn't use it till the handyman to came to unblock it. There was an issue with a bedroom light that continually flickered. The front door handle broke so couldn't be opened from outside. We were able to use the back door instead. I do need to add, the owner was easy to contact and very responsive to get things fixed, which was great, and very much appreciated. She also offered us a partial refund because of the issues.

Property was in an amazingly location, overlooking the reservoir. Perfect base, visited cannon hall farm and the carding shed. And of course Holmfirth. Perfect few days.

We had such a lovely week, what a view. Lots to do locally, nature in abundance and lovely neighbours. Oh the house was obviously amazing and immaculately kept with everything you need and more. Thank you!

Martha's Cottage is beautiful, in a peaceful location with lovely views over the reservoir. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need plus little extras. We wish we could have stayed longer. Loved it that much we've booked again for next year.

Lovely little cottage overlooking reservoir. Very spacious . Only problem we had was getting TV to work . Owners live in Dubai but we’re easy to contact and explained there should be two remotes . We found second one down side of settee so all fine after that but perhaps cleaner should be more on the ball !!

We were looking for a few days away from it all and this cottage was in the perfect spot! Looking out over the reservoir was just beautiful. The walk over the bridge and down the road to the village was perfect. After a visit to the pub we used the bus to get us back up the hill and dropped off right at the house! The cottage is actually larger than we predicted from the photos. Plenty of room downstairs and upstairs. Very well equipped..... cupboards in the kitchen are high and for short folk like me this was a little awkward. There is a little step provided if you're happy to use this. There is absolutely everything you need in this lovely home. Beds are comfortable and lovely big fluffy towels. The complimentary toiletries and basic provisions in the kitchen were a lovely touch. The house was lovely and warm and there was lots of hot water for a soak in the bath or a shower. Nothing to fault and I'm sure we'll be back if we need to stay over in this area another time. Fantastic property in a beautiful location. We particularly enjoyed the views over the reservoir and the reading spot on the landing. Very well equipped kitchen and very comfy beds. Would definitely recommend if visiting the area.

Great location and dog friendly

This is a cozy, comfortable Yorkshire terraced cottage! I was here alone for most of the month of March. The cottage is fully furnished with everything one might need. The hosts, Marie and Dan were super helpful, and so easy to contact! I would greatly recommend this place, if you are looking to explore S. Yorkshire!

We had an amazing stay. The cottage is much bigger than it looks and really does have everything you could possibly need. Perfect for a little family and in a gorgeous location.

Located in a beautiful part of West Yorkshire, the property is homely and comfortable. Stairs are a little steep and you have to watch your head in the loft room, but the views out the windows make it worth the climb. Well provisioned kitchen was appreciated.

What an truly incredible cottage: stunning views, great neighbours and some wonderful walks. The cottage was immaculate, well maintained and very well equipped. Cosy and comfortable - everything we needed was there. There is even underfloor heating in the downstairs shower room! Marie and Dan are very approachable and have a little piece of heaven at Martha’s Cottage.

The photos don’t do Martha’s cottage justice; it is so clean, comfortable and well furnished. It is walking distance to some lovely pubs and Holmfirth is only a short drive or bus ride away (the bus stop is right outside). There are some great walks around the local area and it is so peaceful. We will definitely be booking again.

The cottage was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped, providing a great base to explore the surrounding countryside, with great walks and pubs from the doorstep. Also loved the views of the reservoir and beyond. The location of the shower room was slightly inconvenient, but we were aware of that before we booked.

We fell in love with the cottage immediately. It was clean and so homely, a home away from home. The kitchen was well equipped and we were provided with a small loaf of bread and a pint of milk on arrival which was most appreciated. The beds were so comfortable are slept really well. The views from the cottage are wonderful and there are some lovely walks right on the doorstep. We will be coming back for sure!

Martha's Cottage has the friendliest neighbours I have ever met! Property in modern and cosy with wonderful views. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need for a short stay. No problem parking. Full instructions for everything you need such as washing machine & cooker. Wonderful walks nearby and Holmfirth is a quirky rural town just 5 mins in the car. Recommend a visit to The Pantry at The Fleece Inn at Holme for tasty pastries & Compo's in Holmfirth for Fish and Chips.

Stunning scenery, lovely walks, very peaceful

Great house in a beautiful location overlooking the reservoir. Everything was very clean and the 2 main bedrooms had lovely views of the reservoir. Easy walk into Holmbridge and a great pub with good food. Holmfirth, a thriving market town, is very close by for cafes and shopping. Lovely walks straight from the house and a great place to explore the Peak district. Only issue was the very low beams in the main bedroom due to being an attic room. You cannot stand up on one side of the bed and both my wife and I bumped our heads a few times despite both being under 5' 5"! Hence the 4 stars.

Wow absolute gorgeous location! The property overlooks a water reservoir and all these fields and hills and it's just beautiful. The property itself is really nice and to a high standard. It's very clean as well. You can tell there's been plenty of money invested in the place. It's all too a high standard. A comfy bed, lots of modern branded appliances and a nicely finished kitchen and bathroom. The property is actually three floors high with the top floor veing a loft conversion. The windows in the loft conversion are huge!! You get great views in bed of the sky at night and all the local countryside in the morning. It's great. I really don't know what else to say in recommending this cottage. As for negatives, I can't think of many. There's a path you drive round to get to where you park and it is a bit tight for room. I own a Honda CRV which is a big car. I managed it but it was a bit tight, especially in the dark where the path isn't that well lit either. I can't think of any other negatives to add tbh. Hopefully one day we'll go back to this place again. Oh and if you do visit, I highly recommend you go to the fleece inn pub which is just over half a mile away. The food is fantastic!

We loved staying in this well-equipped, beautifully decorated, very well situated holiday cottage. Lots of walks from the doorstep, ate outdoors for every meal except for once, got to know the lovely neighbours and get very welcomed (along with our dog). Thanks for having us!

The cottage is really homely and lovely. Well decorated and in a nice quiet spot with parking and nice neighbours. Lovely walks and a pub nearby. Town is a little far to walk but it could be done but lots of nice coffee shops and pubs to try. Short drive home. Plus supermarket We Went to Leeds and Manchester plus Yorkshire sculpture park and local walks. Sadly had to cut trip short due to an emergency but I would certainly comeback Thank you to lovely hosts for being so kind.

My mother, two adult children, myself and dog had a restful stay at Martha's cottage. It is beautifully decorated, in a quiet location, with glorious views and extremely comfortable. Also - very friendly and helpful neighbours were a definite bonus!
