About this cottage rental
Our cottage is very well equipped amid of all the attractions of the south/south-west part of Iceland located very close to the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage is on a private ground with total privacy. The living room has a 42" Smart TV with Netflix accounts. Free WiFi. On the terrace is a lovely jacuzzi hot tub with massage, great place to enjoy the northern lights. 60 minutes’ drive to KEF Airport. Distance to some interesting attractions. OTHER ATTRACTIONS You will fall in love with our great cottage and the environment while your stay: - Linen, towels etc. inclusive in the price - Water and electricity inclusive in the price - Fully equipped kitchen makes its easy to prepare your own meals. - One of Iceland's best golf courses in 10 minutes away in Thorlakshofn - Private jacuzzi hot tub with massage, and often with free northern lights :-) - Smart TV, Netflix (adult and kids channels). - Free WiFi - Cleaning inclusive in the price IN THE VERY CLOSE AREA OF THE COTTAGE -700 mtr walk to the beach and Atlantic Ocean of Selvogur. “Selvogur” means Seals Bay. Interesting wild live of seals and birds to see there. -The popular and famous Church Strandarkirkja has a remarkable history, 1 km distance. -The Selvogur lighthouse 2 km distance (recommend walking the last 1 kilometer) . -Herdisarvik is 5 minutes drive. . DRIVE TO THE WEST - 60 minutes drive to KEF Airport. -The Volcano area in Fagradalsfjall is 25 minutes’ drive and you add extra 10 minutes to drive to the ocean town of Grindavik. -Seltún, the great geothermal area is 25 minutes’ drive. Don´t miss Seltun. -Reykjanesviti is in 60 minutes distance and there are so many famous attractions on the Reykanes peninsula see following web link; https://icelandmonitor.mbl.is/news/nature_and_travel/2017/05/28/14_places_to_visit_on_reykjanes_peninsula/ . DRIVE TO THE NORTH -City of Reykjavik, 40 minutes’ drive. -Town of Hafnarfjörður, 40 minutes’ drive. DRIVE TO THE EAST -The ocean village, Thorlakshofn is 10 minutes’ drive (nearest supermarket Kronan). -The Black Beach, 15 minutes’ drive. -Hveragerdi the town of the geothermal pools, heated geothermal swimmingpool, is 25 minutes’ drive. -Town of Selfoss is 35 min drive. -The ocean village of Eyrarbakki is 20 minutes’ drive. -The ocean village of Stokkseyri is 25 minutes’ drive. . OTHER POPULAR PLACES TO VISIT – NORTH / EAST Kerid, the famous volcanic crater is 45 min. drive. Gullfoss and Geysir are in approx. 75 min. drive from our cottage, Laugarvatn with great spa and sauna (Fontana) is 65 min. drive. The national park, Thingvellir is 70 min. drive. Seljalandsfoss is 60 min. drives and Reynisfjara Vik Myrdal is approx. 2 hrs drive. Jokulsarlon is 4,5 hrs. drive.

We toured all along the south and this spot was great. Cute summerhouse with everything you need except a hairdryer and no laundry.

Stefan's summer home is situated beautifully between ocean and mountain. It feels very connected to the ocean, which is accessed via a path a short walk down the road, and Reykjavik, 45 minutes away, and is a good spot from which to explore the Southern Coast.
Stefan is a friendly and accomodating host -very responsive and helpful when needed.

Sceniskt läge vid havet. Bekvämt och Harmoniskt boende.,
Vi hyrde huset i tio dagar och gjorde utflykter. Tonåringarna på loftet hade det bekvämt och trots stugans litenhet känns det aldrig trångt tack vare de fantastiska glasytorna och den inglasade verandan där morgonkaffet kan avnjutas i alla väder. Havsutsikt med horisont och vidd, fjället åt andra hållet. Oerhört fridfullt boende att både utgå ifrån för strövtåg över heden, och göra utflykter på södra Island. Fantastiskt att komma hem på kvällen, laga lite mat och ta ett dopp i utomhuspoolen och se den långsamma solnedgången över havet. Superfräscht, bekväma sängar, välfungerande kök. Enda nackdelen är möjligen läget, det tar lite längre tid än man kan tro att åka på de Islänska vägarna.
För den som söker ett boende utanför Reykjavik för att göra rundtur Golden Cirkel, rida, besöka Blue Lagoon, och de andra södra utflyktsmålen är det helt perfekt. Eller om man kommer Österifrån och vill uppleva fiskebåtarnas charm? Eller som egen upplevelse, -en mycket vacker plats!

Nice Place
This Place is a very nice stay! Its In a quiet area and close to the ocean with a nice view. The house itself is cozy and the host was pretty nice, he even prepared a champagne to celebrate new year. He was always friendly and the communication in case of questions worked well. The Whirlpool is such a nice extra, which makes the evenings of your stay special. For six grownups, it could be a little growded but its possible and we enjoyed it! I would definitly recommend it and maybe well come back some other time again!
