Nestled in the woods and perfect for those looking to relax and retreat to their natural roots, see wildlife, eagles and enjoy the serenity of the Oregon woods. Great for all seasons of skiers, hikers, mountain bikers, and all other outdoor sport enthusiasts! The inside of the living quarters hosts a unique feel of a log cabin. Porch area to relax and read. Private deck and Communal deck area to see the beautiful River views. Parking available for 2 or 3 cars. Wildlife constantly touring property. Quiet back-road location. Wash/dryer, warm shower, kitchen, living and dining areas, multiple beds (two doubles, one single), original wood stove and traditional heaters, full closets, and fun vibe! Minutes to downtown Bend, 25 minutes to Bachelor, 20 minutes to Ice skating, world class biking, playing hockey etc, 3 miles from High Desert Musuem. View of Mt. I can't really add more to what has been said about the property and Cathy that hasn't already been said. She was communicative from the beginning when I'd reserved the property a few months prior up to and including the day of our arrival. Welcome snacks (including the homemade cookies), copious amounts of local information about activities and a super-charming property made our stay memorable. The icing on the cake is their cat, Ruby, who's very friendly but all business when patrolling the property in the morning.

What a charming little cottage! More than ample room for the three of us on on our girls' getaway. Tastefully and comfortably furnished, and in a great location - pretty much equidistant from Bend and Sunriver, while still feeling remote and private. Cathy has cleverly made use of every possible space and there was nothing she hadn't supplied. The upstairs patio was lovely and we sat there for hours one night under the twinkle lights. Cathy was there to welcome us and was such a gracious host, going the distance to provide a welcome basket and cookies which made the stay even more personal. We stay in a lot of rental properties and this one was truly a delight all around.

The stay was outstanding from start to finish.
Cathy met us upon arrival and give us many tips on things to do and places to go.
The property was spotless and very well appointed.
It is a very peaceful spot and only 10 minutes from town.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Cathy was great! Upon arrival she had a goodie basket along with some wine. Then she brought over stuff to make s’mores. The house was perfect for my two friends and I.

Great property surrounded by trees and within walking distance of the Deschutes River.
The house itself is well taken care of, immaculate and the hostess, Cathy, will do everything in her power to insure you have a pleasant stay.

We had a great time in the house! So many cute decorations and Harry Potter books, classic videos and beautiful deck, so happy to pick this place and got to know Cathy and handsome cat Ruby!

Quaint, rustic little house with a pretty deck! The hostess was super, providing cookies and other yummy appetizers. She was very helpful!! A delightful place to relax and there were many nearby activities to enjoy.

Great location. Close to downtown but out of the busy traffic. Cute and cozy feel. Our host Cathy was great, she had homemade salsa and cookies on the table. All around great vacation spot!

After a long day of traveling, we arrived to a wonderfully prepared gift basket and homebaked cookies. The kids truly enjoyed the amenities. After a long day of tournaments, it was nice to come back and relax. Thank you Cathy for making our stay amazing. We would definitely come back next year.

Cathy was very easy to communicate with ahead of and during our stay. Bery responsive. The cabin is adorable. We were greeted with a basket full of snacks and homemade salsa! The beds were comfortable and the quiet location made for a good sleep. There is a large deck off the main deck is accessible and there is also a restful deck off the second bedroom upstairs in the cabin. Highly recommend!

The Deschutes River Apt was in a very beautiful and peaceful setting. Cathy was an amazing hostess. She left us a basket of snacks and some delicious homemade cookies! She was super friendly and informative. The apartment was very clean and comfy. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxing place to stay while visiting Bend.

A few friends and I were planning on spending a few days in Bend doing some mountain biking. After reviewing one of the other short term rental internet sites. I decided to try VRBO to see if there were better deals. I found Cathy's apartment and secured the rental. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the welcoming atmosphere Cathy provided. On arrival, she met us and made sure we knew that if there were any issues during our stay to let her know. When we entered the apartment we found a plate of fresh homemade cookies waiting. In the kitchen we found a welcome basket with more goodies. The apartment is nicely decorated, clean and comfortable throughout. There is a nice upstairs deck with outdoor seating for hanging out on a warm summer afternoon. We also were able to use the main house deck that had views of the river. Overall, a very pleasant stay and would recommend the apartment for anyone looking to stay in Bend for a few days.

We've rented our fair share of VRBOs & Airbnbs & this, by far, was the rental w/the most welcoming, gracious, and accommodating host we've experienced. From the moment we arrived, Cathy was helpful & willing to respond to any requests we had, e.g., she let us borrow flashlights to use when we explored the Lava Caves. She also provided a very generous welcome basket full of both healthy and delicious goodies. And, she even gave us an extra bike tire to take home! (We traveled with our bikes to take advantage of Bend's abundance of trails).
The cabin itself was very comfortable, clean, and cozy & well stocked with cooking utensils & implements, pantry items & supplies, and comfort items like blankets, etc. We really enjoyed the attached deck & utilized the grill, which was already prepared by Cathy with a neatly organized tower of briquets.
Overall, if you're looking for a comfortable rental in a gorgeous location for an excellent value with an outstanding host, this is your place.

This was the perfect, quiet place in the woods for us. Cathy went above and beyond, making our stay as comfortable as possible. There's a few quirks to the place, but so many other amenities, like a fully stocked pantry, that we weren't expecting, and they more than made up for them. The beds were cozy and there's lots of choices for blankets for when the temperatures got colder at night. The weather fluctuated during our stay but the place always stayed comfortable. Cathy was super available for our needs, offering so many extras, it made the stay more like an experience. The photos reveal the deck but it is truly a sight to behold. The location was far enough away to feel secluded but still super easy to get to all our destinations. The place really made our stay in Bend so much more memorable.

Great little cabin with the most gracious host I’ve ever met. I brought two teenagers with me. We stayed three nights to ski bachelor and it was perfect. It’s a unique spot a little out of town and perfect for the three of us to get away and ski.

Nice place. Close to hot tub but can’t hear it from inside. Close walk to the slopes. Nice room setup. Kitchen is well stocked. Would stay here again.

The reviews are spot on. The accommodations are as described and as they appear in the photos. Clean and comfortable. And Cathy is beyond any other host that we've experienced. Cookies and welcome basket, extremely responsive and helpful. My friend has over 100 rental properties with his brother, and after seeing how gracious a host Cathy was, he was inspired to try to raise his game. But it's just not possible to match Cathy on that scale. It's simple. If you're going to Bend in the summer or to ski Bachelor in the winter, just stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The apartment is beautiful with high ceilings and gorgeous decorations. We had 4 adults and were very comfortable. Cathy is a wonderful host who was available to us for any need - including the better way to get to Mt. Bachelor! We all loved the apartment and will definitely consider staying at this location the next time we come to Bend.

Cathy was a great Host, having a wonderful food basket upon our arrival. This is an inviting "apartment" but is really more like a "home." As the weather was perfect, there was no use for fireplace; however, this would be a wonderful asset during the winter months. The upstairs patio was cozy and secluded and we enjoyed all our meals out of doors.
This is a very lovely place to stay and perfect for one to two couples or small family.

Without a doubt this is the best property we have ever stayed at through Vrbo. Cathy is a fantastic host and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She provided us with a welcome package consisting of home made cookies, energy bars, apples, and other snacks and drinks.
The property itself was sparkling clean and had everything necessary to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

We had no idea we had booked a stay at such a charming location. It may be one of the nicest places we have ever rented. A steep hike down to the river and not for everyone but for us no problem. We swam in a calm little spot. Cathy had snacks waiting for us and a stocked fridge for a tasty breakfast. We didn’t even leave the second day to explore Bend because we were enjoying ourselves there so much. We will be back!!

This place was amazing, Cathy took great care of us, from checkin to checkout we had everything we needed and more. She even baked us cookies and left us extra goodies in the house if needed. She did all or most of the building and decorating and she has a real sense of western bend style! Thank you Cathy! You made our stay in the greater Bend area even better!

Lovely cottage
Cathy went above and beyond to make our stay memorable! She put breakfast food in the fridge for us so we weren’t hungry when we woke up. She also gave us a HUGE basket of food. The property is very beautiful!

Peaceful and perfect stay!
Cathy is the most wonderful host. Gracious and generous! She provided tasty snacks for our arrival and even a few fresh food items since we arrived on a holiday. Her place is so cozy and perfect for a relaxing, quiet time. The deck sitting amongst the trees is just what we needed. Also super comfy beds and everything was wonderfully clean! Thank you Cathy I cannot wait to book another stay!

Great outdoor getaway!
Cathy was an awesome host - very generous, kind and attentive! I checked in early and there were gift baskets and food for us in the fridge! At one point Cathy came by and dropped off a batch of brownies and a bottle of wine! Super nice gesture!
The cabin was very cozy and clean. The location was really great for either exploring or accessing downtown. Highly recommend this property for your next Bend visit!

On top of that, the place itself was absolutely amazing! We loved the cozy decor, beautiful fireplace (from the 1970s), and the amazing decks and the views they provided; a private upper deck where you can enjoy lunch/dinner outside and a communal deck with views overlooking the Deschutes River.
The host, Cathy, was hands down the best host I’ve had at a rental so far. She made us a gift basket filled with goodies and offered us advice on trails/sites nearby to explore.
We would definitely book this place again and next time we will enjoy some more of her awesome collection of VHS tapes (Bend is home to the last Blockbuster Video 🙂)
