The perfect Lake Gaston family getaway!
About this house rental
A perfect family retreat tucked away in beautiful Northern Cove! With only a few paddles to get to the main lake, our house is situated perfectly in a quiet, tranquil cove and ready for a memorable family vacation. This is a newer listing and set up based on years of renting other properties. Everything is here to enjoy Lake Gaston to the fullest! It is just a short, flat, easy walk down to the double boathouse which hosts plenty of shade and sun seating options. All the toys are down by the dock; 2 kayaks, 2 stand up paddleboards, a big foam floating mat, two pedal boats and don’t forget about the custom Tarzan swing to launch off the dock and into the water!! Refrigerator and stereo system are inside the boathouse along with a variety of life jackets, a pull behind tube for the boat and tow ropes. There are tie ups on one side of the dock for your boat or message us about renting our 2020 Godfrey Tritoon and jetskis! A fire pit rests in between the tall pines just off the water. Plenty of firewood is available for evening story telling. Two brand new grills are on the deck just off the kitchen for easy access. A propane grill for every day cooking and a Traeger wood pellet smoker for the more serious outdoor chef. Plenty of propane and pellets are on site! A massive screened in porch gives a quiet lake view. The 4 hanging chairs are a comfy treat! Corn hole boards and bags are hanging up. Plenty of eating locations are available whether it be on the dock, the screened in porch, the back deck, the 12 seater dining room table or the lake view breakfast nook. Food lion and a variety of restaurants and food trucks are all within a 5 minute drive. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the supplies to bring a feast together. Coffee makers, air fryer, crock pot, blender, waffle maker, s’more sticks, measuring cups, meat thermometer, cheese grater, it is all in there! The master suite is on the main floor with a king bed and ensuite full bathroom. Another full bathroom is just off the kitchen and dining room. Upstairs hosts three separate rooms sharing two full bathrooms. At the top of the stairs there is a landing room with a twin trundle bed. This is a great space for children that want to be closer to their parents and we do not count this as an official bedroom. Walking through this room you pass a full bathroom with a classic stone chimney. The far room has a queen size bed and large screen TV. The third, lake view room also has a queen bed with a half bath connected. A private room connected to this third bedroom looks over the lake with a craw foot tub/shower and yet another single bed with a trundle. The basement is set up as a bunk room and has two, twin over twin bunks and one twin over full bunk. There are plenty of games, toys and a TV in the basement. All of these rooms can be closed off individually with doors. The garage is set up for fun! A pool/air hockey combo table is alongside a beautiful Stiga ping pong table. A 50 inch tv is ready for your gaming system from home. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ms. Pacman arcade games are primed to bring back childhood memories. Two bikes (one adult, one kid) are available for a pedal up the road. The living room hosts quaint Northern Cove views from the super comfortable leather sectional. A new 75” Roku TV is ready to sign into whatever app you want for evening movie watching. A wireless mesh network is setup producing speeds over 220 mb’s all the way down to the dock without issue. An office space is right around the corner from the living room and can be sectioned off with doors. We have a pack ‘n play crib available (sheets included), a toddler bed, and one booster seat that straps onto a chair. Full size washer and dryer are in the closet off the master suite. Only 5 minutes from Food lion, the dollar store and the ABC store. Public boat ramp also only minutes away. Please no smoking in the house or on the screened in porch. Sorry no pets. Lake Gaston Dog Boarding is about 20 minutes away if you wanted to keep your buddy local for visits. https://lkgdogboarding.com/ Check in is at 4:00 pm and check out is at 10:00 am. June through August we offer a 6 night minimum starting on Sunday’s.

House has very high end accommodations and tons of amenities. All spaces are very comfortable and beds are amazing. Plenty of space to park vehicles. Waking is not issue with dock at end of cove.

This was a great house for us (4 adults and 3 kids). The layout is a bit quirky, but it has EVERYTHING that you could want - great kitchen, multiple TVs, a game room, a dock with boats (and potential boat rentals), comfortable beds, and an attentive owner. We will be back.

The stay was great. The bedrooms and bathrooms were set up perfectly for 4 separate families to stay in! The screened in porch was great to contain the little rascals running around. The game was was a great addition and the option to rent jet skis and a pontoon boat was on point. Chris, the owner, answers all our needs very promptly ! No compliants :)

We were in town for a family wedding and found this great property nearby the wedding site. Perfect location, everything you could possibly need and owners were outstanding throughout the entire process. House is very spacious and they have thought of everything to make your stay a great experience. Highly recommend this property

This property offered something for everyone. Our group was age 17- 54 and there was never a down moment. Super clean house, plenty of sleeping spaces and entertainment space. Well stocked kitchen for preparing meals. Plenty of tables for gathering. There is a huge game room, large dining room, large living room and indoor and outdoor porch space. The screened in porch is amazing. The water toys are in great condition and the dock area is spacious for relaxing and playing. Perfect cove for swimming, using the paddle boards and kayaks. Chris was super responsive to every question we had before and after the reservation and during our stay. Great host-definitely recommend reserving with out hesitation or worry.
Thank you for a wonderful week at the lake!

My kids said they wish they could’ve stayed another week. The house was very clean. Comfortable beds. Kitchen was stocked well to cook family meals, the extra fridge in the garage came in handy. Grill worked great. The boat dock was a highlight. My family laid out, played in the water, and fished everyday. We loved the paddle boats, kayaks, and paddle boards. We also enjoyed the seadoos and boat. Everyone loved tubing on the boat. This was a wonderful family trip. Chris was very responsive and answered all of our questions. Very easy to work with.

We have a group of 3 families, 13 people aged 8-50, who spend every memorial day weekend at lake gaston. This house has been one of our absolute favorites. It is extremely clean, very homey and comfortable, and has everything we needed. Plenty of fun activies for kids, teens, and adults and places to relax as well. Having the boat and seadoos right there and available to rent was a huge bonus and made the weekend that much more fun plus it was much easier then driving over to a rental company. Chris was fantastic to work with as well, he explained everything clearly and was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Already looking forward to our trip next year.

We had a great time! The house was very clean, comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The lake was a lot of fun and being able to rent the Pontoon Boat was a big plus. Chris was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly. We hope to rent this property again very soon.

House was very clean and well organized. We had 10 adults and there was plenty of space for our gathering. The pool table and ping pong table were a hit. The young adults enjoyed all of the water toys provided. Chris was super responsive and a perfect host. Would definitely rent this house again and highly recommend to others.

Our long holiday weekend stay with family and friends was wonderful! The house had a great layout for our group and even better location on the lake. We have a personal boat at the lake that broke day 2 of our visit. Chris was very quick to respond to messages and renting the tritoon for the remainder of our time there was a breeze. We look forward to coming back next year.

This house is great. The owner was excellent - great communication and quick to respond. Being able to rent the owner’s boat with tube and 2 seadoos was amazing. Couldn’t have been easier. There’s also a lake mat, paddle boats, and Tarzan swing. My kids and I were in heaven.

We had a great time at the lake house! We had family visiting from Illinios and New York and the house had everything we needed. The whole family thought the house was lovely and the cove was nice and private. I loved not having to bring all the supplies such as hand soaps, dish soap and such. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes and cooking needs. We cooked every meal except 1 while we were there.
Thank you Harriman Family!

Property was a gem, with everything you could ask for in a lake house. We never once turned on a computer or the TV because there was so much we could do otherwise. The house was fully stocked with towels, sheets, paper towels, toilet paper, and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook with. Bonuses in my opinion were plentiful: two grills, one of them being a Traeger pellet grill and I used it to smoke a pork butt, Pool table that converts to air hockey, who doesn't love air hockey, and the ping pong table got a workout. My 6 year old niece LOVED the hammock swings on the patio, and you can even rent a boat and jet ski's right there at your own dock.
Loved our stay, Chris was great when I had questions. We would love to come back again and again. If you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Dream vacation
The house was perfect for our family; grandchildren 10-18! It was clean, stocked with appliances, and all kitchen equipment! It was the little touches, such as pretty throw rugs, hand soaps, device outlets, the swing chairs- so many little things that made the house homey. The dock was incredibly well stocked! The hospitality was genuine and appreciated. Ready to go back!!

Great house that was fully stocked
This house is in a great location on a nice and quiet cove. It has every lake accessory you can think of. We brought our own boat and there was no problem with docking. The house itself was plenty big and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need from laundry detergent to toiletries in all of the bathrooms. We had three different families as well as a 3 year old and we had a great time. We had a couple rainy evenings and all the games in the garage along with the smart tv was nice to have. The swings in the screened in porch was an extremely comfy place to relax. We can't wait to return!

Incredibly relaxing
My family had a great time at this lake house! Definitely the best rental we’ve tried so far. Everything was provided- from toilet paper to bed sheets. All we needed to purchase was food from the grocery store 5 minutes away. Lots of options of where to sleep and all were comfortable. Most of our time was spent in the lake or on the dock. They have kayaks, paddle boards, paddle boats, splash pad, floats, life jackets and even some water shoes (the bottom of the lake is quite squishy). When inside, we spent a lot of time on the swings in the screened in porch. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the gadgets/utensils we needed. The only thing I can think of that could have been helpful would be dressers to store your clothes. I think the only room that had a dresser was the master bedroom. A couple rooms had closets but I like to be able to unpack my suitcase when I go somewhere and not all my clothes can be hung easily. No biggie though. All together we had a wonderfully relaxing trip and would definitely recommend staying here!

I can't say enough about how great this property was! The owner, Chris, is the most responsive owner we have ever dealt with. The house was gorgeous, in great shape, and super clean. Lake Gaston was amazing, not too crowded, clean, and huge!
We had a group of 13 and had plenty of room and have already ordered a pair of hanging hammock chairs like the ones they have in the screen porch. The kids loved the converted garage into play room.
We rented the boat and jetski for the week and had a blast. The dock house was really nice and had all the extras you could need (life jackets, paddle boats, kayaks...).
Would 100% stay again. Thanks for a great week.

We are becoming regulars at Lake Gaston each summer, and this is one of our favorite places yet! I usually pack a whole bunch of things we don’t find in a rental (TP, dish soap, laundry detergent, sharp knives, matches, etc) but Chris (the owner) has this place so well stocked most of my stuff never came out of its box. We bring or make all of our food while at the lake and the kitchen was stocked well enough to do all the cooking needed- pans, dishes, bowls, crockpot, air fryer, etc. The double oven was helpful as well. And the second fridge in the garage meant we didn’t have to keep making trips to the Food Lion (although it’s only 4min away- so super close if you need it).
The house is huge- plenty of comfortable places for people to hang out whether inside or out, and the multiple options of where to eat was great. The screened in porch is a dream- it’s huge and the hammock swings were a favorite all week. The internet is fast, so although we were off of phones/computers most of the week, when someone needed to pop in for work there were no connectivity issues.
The upstairs setup was different than expected when we got there with the 3rd bedroom (the queen) being a “walk thru” room instead of totally private, but Chris took the feedback and has already moved the bunks to the basement room (which is under the master) to make the 2nd upstairs room private. He also had added a wall AC unit in the garage so we were able to sleep our boys on 2 twin air mattresses in there. The washer/dryer is in the master bathroom (which is also connected to the livingroom), which makes it a little tricky to do laundry, but there are two dryers which is genius- made drying the incredible amount of lake towels we use a piece of cake. There were tons of extra pillows, and the comforters on all the beds were soft and comfy.
We bring a wakeboarding boat with us and were able to tie up alongside the dock easily. The house is almost at the very end of the cove so there is no “thru” traffic and the water is super calm, about 4ft deep at the end of the dock and great for enjoying the floating pad, floats, paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards or the Tarzan swing- which was enjoyed by “kids” of all ages!
Chris was quick to respond, answered all my questions and was easy to work with - and we are already planning next years trip! Would definitely recommend this place.

The house was possibly even better than pictured! We had a large group of a few families taking our first trip to Lake Gaston.
We ended up with a TON of cars because all couples ended up having to drive separately due to some arriving later or leaving earlier because of work schedules, but it was no problem, as the driveway was big enough for all. The house was clean and peaceful, separated by trees from the road and with smaller homes with quiet neighbors on both sides.
Our group had kids ages 5 to 18, and they ALL had a great time! The water by the dock was shallow enough that the littler kids enjoyed lots of swimming (the foam floating pad was a HUGE hit!), and the older kids loved the standing paddle boards and kayaks. All ages loved the paddle boat and seeing the mussels, shells, snails, etc., in the shallow water.
The house itself was exactly as described. It has plenty of space. We had no trouble cooking in the kitchen, grilling on the deck, sitting around the large dining table, lounging in the screened porch...I will say not to expect too much privacy in the upstairs bedrooms since you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the little room with the daybed/trundle, and through the other bedroom to get to the room with all the bunk beds, and the master bath also connects to the living room and contains the washer/dryer, so it's not really a private master bath. None of this was an issue for our group, just a different/unexpected layout, but still plenty of beds for everyone.
Based on previous rental experiences, we came prepared with packs of toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, plasticware, dish soap, hand soap, pillows...we hardly needed any of it! This house was SO wonderfully well stocked with all the necessities, including extra toilet paper (most places I've rented only provide what is on the holders when you arrive).
There were also some helpful extras throughout, such as the detailed guide of instructions, local resources, emergency contact info, etc., and especially the little charging adapters (like an extension cord but with both regular plug outlets and USB ports for chargers); this was SO much easier than having to try to plug a phone charger in behind a nightstand or something.
The property owner was very quick with communication for the months before our trip and during our stay. I would absolutely recommend this property, and we are considering booking it again in the future!

We had a wonderful time. We had sleeping room for 8 adults, 1 child, and 1 toddler. The weather did not cooperate but we had no trouble occupying ourselves with air hockey, pink pong, an arcade game, and sitting on the screened on porch.
This house is on our short list for renting again.

The property was warm and inviting for the family. When I arrived into the house, it felt just like home. A home office was off to the right with the adjoining master bed room when I entered. This is where my mother resided during the stay. The kitchen was up two steps to the left. I kept straight and walked into the family room. From the family room, I could see the lake down below.
On the second floor were three main bedrooms. The three kids were able to sleep comfortable in the bunk bed room. The two other adults were able to have their own rooms.
The kids also were well entertained with toys in the basement and an arcade game in the garage.
My mother and older sister were able to relax in the family room during the day and overlook the rest of the family at the dock or on the screened porch. During the week long vacation, I found myself in one of the four swinging hammocks on the porch.
My brother was able to fish on the dock during the day and night. There were life jackets, water toys for the kids, and a stereo in a room on the dock.
The property owners emailed a welcome package which was thorough on how to check in, things to know during our stay, local restaurants, etc. The property owners checked in on us during our stay through email and ensured check out went smoothly on our last day. The property owners were an email away if needed.
If my family were to return to Lake Gaston, we would definitely reserve this property again.
