About this house rental
This 1950’s beach cottage located on the edge of the historic district has been lovingly restored. The Salty Dog Beach House is centrally located near the corner of Jefferson and Columbia making it close to the beach, Washington Street Mall and all that Cape May has to offer. Park your car in the driveway and walk to restaurants, shopping, theaters, tours, and the Washington Street Mall. Parking can be difficult in Cape May and this house is unique as it has parking for two cars off street in the driveway. In the evening, enjoy a fire pit in the backyard or the sounds of the horse drawn carriages pass by as you relax in the open concept kitchen/living room, while you send the kids to the basement to enjoy the home theatre. The cottage has three bedrooms upstairs and a pull out sofa on the lower level. There is a full bath upstairs and there is a half bath downstairs and an outside shower. Linens are INCLUDED at the Salty Dog, sheets, bath towels and beach towels with the turnover service. The Salty Dog offers a beach box for you to leave your beach items in at the end of your beach day. There are numerous beach chairs and a couple of beach umbrellas left for you to use during your stay (Available Memorial Day through Sept 17th). And finally, salty air comes natural with the Salty Dog Beach House. Come and visit!

We’ve been to Cape May many times before but this was our first at Christmas time. Just beautiful. House was super clean and the location was ideal. Host was very accommodating and even let us check in a little early which was greatly appreciated. Nice touches in the home that we liked including bathroom night lights, tissue boxes in every room and a full length mirror. Little things like this make a difference in a rental unit. Looking forward to staying here again.

We loved our weekend stay at this house. Beautifully furnished, great kitchen, lovely downstairs den. Roomy for our group of four. Great neighborhood and easy walking to the beach and to shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Property was in great shape and met with on-line description. Location was central to Cape May. Owner was very responsive to our needs. Only thing lacking was an outdoor grill.

This was a lovely property and we really enjoyed our stay. The home is close to the beach and downtown- a true cape may experience. Having a box on the beach with chairs, umbrellas, toys was amazing! The kitchen was lovely and well appointed with supplies. Host was very responsive.

We stayed here with friends at the end of June. The location was ideal, with short walks to town and the beach. The backyard was great for relaxing at night. The outdoor shower was wonderful! Having the lockbox of supplies at the beach was so convenient and made the walk to the beach so much easier!

The Salty Dog was perfect for our family! Its location is amazing and the house is wonderful. You can easily walk to both the beach and downtown Washington Street/Congress Hall. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. The backyard was a nice place to relax as was the downstairs entertainment room. Having chairs on the beach ready for us in a storage box was also very helpful. Rob was very responsive, polite, and accommodating. Highly recommend!

The home is very nice and located in the middle of all the activities. The mall the beach and the little village is all within just a few blocks. The property manager was very quick and responsive to get back to me even when wondering about the best restaurants to go to ! Overall my family and I had a wonderful experience staying here and the house was very clean ! We will definitely be back !

everything was truly perfect. the house. the location. the (very) quick responses from rob. the entire town is easily walkable - you'll never need to get in the car unless you want to venture to west cape may (which can even be done by bike).
we brought our 20 month old toddler and we all had the best time. if you have a little one who can't be near steps, it's perfect. we kept the door closed (he never even knew they existed) and once we put him to bed, we hung out downstairs so we never had to worry about making noise.
having all beach equipment already on the beach was also a huge plus - especially when walking there with a toddler and an insane amount of toys.
we will 100% stay here again and can't wait to do so!

Rob was a great host and the place was perfect for our family of four with 2 kids under 4. Easy 5 min walk to the beach, all restaurants, and Washington Street Mall. My wife was also able to take advantage of a relaxing massage at the spa next door. Kitchen had all of the essentials, plenty of clean towels and linens. Highly recommend.

This was our first time renting a place in Cape May. We usually stay in one of the hotels. This place was perfect for the whole family to be able to be together instead of separate hotel rooms. We'd definitely stay again!

Cape May is a favorite spot of mine to visit during the off season. Salty Dog was the perfect place to stay. Very clean with many amenities. Having linens and towels provided was very convenient , along with toilet paper and paper towels. Kitchen fully equipped for cooking. Within walking distance of the beach, Washington Mall and restaurants. Perfect location.

This trip was a sisters' trip. Last year we stayed in a hotel and I'm so glad we decided on a house. This house was exactly as listed. It is so up-to-date and beautifully decorated. We especially loved hanging out in the family room. We were so looking forward to using the yard but the weather didn't permit it. The house was beyond clean and the towels and linens were topnotch. House is gorgeous. Only suggestion would be to make sure there are mirrors in all of the bedrooms and the bathroom is tight but the powder room downstairs really helps.

My family of 4 stayed here for 4 nights in August. We absolutely loved it. Place was very clean and cozy. About a quarter mile to the beach, and even closer to the Washington Mall. Comes with a locker at the beach with chairs and umbrellas so you do not have to haul it every time. We will be back!

Our family of 5 stayed here with 3 young kids and 2 adults. This location is great! An easy walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping and all conveniences! This house was very clean and exactly as listed. A few things that make this house stand out are the included clean linens and towels! Also, having a beach box with umbrellas and chairs at the beach was so helpful when already bringing 3 young kids to the beach. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a place in Cape May!

We had a wonderful several days celebrating our daughter's graduation at the Salty Dog . It is really clean and well equipped. The best part for us was the location. We never got into our car once we were settled in as it is an easy walk to both the beach and town. We would highly recommend this house and would love to return!
