We loved the house the location is perfectly located to walk to the beach plenty of beds the pool was great. We enjoyed the grill and outdoor space. The inside has its quirks but it’s an old house. Overall everyone loved it and made memories to last a lifetime.

The house was stunning and incredibly spacious. The pool was perfect and bigger than we expected. Great location. Would rent again. Had issued initially that were completely out of the owners hands (hurricane) and he did an excellent job of accommodating under the circumstances.

Great communication from the start. Hosted my brother's bachelor party here and it had plenty of space for our large group. The property is full of old and beautiful things, so I wouldn't bring a group of people here that you don't trust to be careful. Received lots of compliments from everyone for finding this place as it's one of a kind!

Overall very good - wifi wasn’t working though

Two years ago, we had a great stay at this property. Although the property's age and quirks were mentioned in the description, we were drawn to its charm, including pool and close location to Hollywood beach. However, this time, we were surprised to find the owner living in the attached apartment, which was part of the rental during our previous visit. This was unsettling because we knew the apartment had direct access to the main house, and we would have considered switching if we were an all-female group. We had several exchanges with the host, during our stay. The grill was in poor condition, but Jack was responsive and provided a replacement. We also had issues with the air conditioning, and the thermostat was inconsistent and it was hard to maintain a comfortable temperature. The fans mentioned in every bedroom were either non-functional or missing, affecting our comfort. Additionally, the dishwasher had issues, and we had to handwash dishes on the day of check-out. The main refrigerator was broken, and while a smaller one was provided as a replacement, it was not as advertised. I tried to address issues with the host post-stay, but his response was dismissive, citing VRBO's policy. In conclusion, property needs appliance updates and constant presence of owner on-site was unsettling as he frequently appeared in the yard or entered the backyard to get tools and perform yard work. This intrusion of privacy detracted from our overall experience significantly.

I needed a destination bachelorette due to my whole party being out of state and this gave me just what I needed. It was plenty big enough for everyone to have their own space and relax. It was also great to have the pool to lounge around in at night. The house is incredible and fun and historic. It’s rare to actually get to stay somewhere like that. Like any old house, things aren’t perfect but that’s to be expected. There are also plenty of grocery stores nearby to stock up.

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Young Mansion! We were overwhelmed by the beauty of the architecture and the details in each room! The home was large enough for our group. It offered lots of privacy as well as lots of spaces that accomodated dinner and game gatherings. The kitchen is not a great space for cooking. We planned to cook most meals in the home and found it lacking. We needed cookie sheets, measuring spoons/cups, and oven mitts.. It also was in disrepair with handles falling off of drawers and cabinet doors hanging off of their hinges. The refrigerator in the kitchen did not work, and the one in the dining room had water draining out of it. The oven in one of the stoves also does not work, but we just used the other oven. It could also use a thorough cleaning. The outside area needed some attention. None of the four chaise lounges were usable and the pool house needed maintenance and cleaning. That said we still found the house stunning and enjoyed our week. The pool, ping pong table, foosball table, and pool table were fantastic for our group!
