About this apartment hotel
Welcome to The Skolfield Inn! ROOM 2: In this room you can relax on the couch with a book or snuggle up in bed to watch Netflix. While the room is bright and spacious, the bathroom is what keeps people coming back for more! With a double vanity, large marble glassed in shower, and original hardwood floors, you will look forward to your own little spa-like oasis. This room also comes with one, off street parking spot (cannot support larger SUVs/trucks). The Space: Built in 1895, this John Calvin Stevens home still has many original features unique to the famous architect. Commissioned by John T. Skolfield, the single family home was converted to an inn and opened for business in 2019. We are located in the West End, just over a mile southwest of the Old Port in the historic neighborhood known for its elaborate Victorian-era architecture. Our neighborhood offers you the tranquility of the Western Promenade, an 18-acre park offering scenic views and walking paths, in tandem with a host of popular restaurants and cafes, all within easy walking distance. The neighboring Arts District and Old Port offer plenty to explore on foot, including museums, art galleries, theaters, restaurants, shops, and bars. With just four guest rooms, our inn offers a peaceful stay, satisfying social guests or those seeking solace. Your private room is furnished with a queen sized bed, television (no cable, just smart TV with Netflix account), white noise machine, and a reading chair (or couch depending on the room). Off street parking is available, cannot support larger SUVs/trucks, and being competent in reverse is a plus! For those with large vehicles, street parking is readily available in front of the inn from 4pm-10am for overnight guests (outside these hours are hourly restrictions). A half mile away is residential street parking which is free and has no hourly restrictions for those staying longer than a night. Other things to note: ***WINTER PARKING: If we should have a snow storm, the day after the storm, we are required to remove all cars from the parking area so it can be properly cleaned out. From 9am through 3pm cars must be moved. Closest street parking with no time restrictions is about a half mile away so its a good time to explore the sites downtown or in our neighboring cities! The host will message through the Airbnb website/app the day of snow removal and any car left in the parking area will be charged a $100 fee***

Renovations were great, but still kept the old charm. The garden was gorgeous. Would have loved to have had time to sit out there and enjoy coffee or a drink. 20 min walk to down town and 10 minute walk to the art district.

Lovely property. Nice quiet neighborhood. Spacious room and bathroom. A bit of a walk from the old port but it was well worth not having to pay $600+ per night. Definitely recommend this property if you’re looking for a reasonable place to stay in Portland.

We are so glad we found this lovely place! Katrina, the owner, was responsive to inquiries and welcoming. The room was extremely clean and had everything we needed to feel comfy. Large, beautiful bathroom with double sinks and nice shower. Bright room with cheerful colors. Great location in Portland's West End. Easy walk to the beautiful West End promenade. The gardens and landscaping at the Inn are just gorgeous! My only very small suggestion is it'd be nice to have a shelf or tiny nightstand on one side of the bed (one side has one). I know that the wall just may not accommodate that but that was the only thing I missed :-) Highly recommend this Inn!!

We had a lovely stay at this inn. It was in a fairly quiet area and walkable distance to restaurants and shops. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was beautifully done. I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends!

Stayed for one night but it was nice to be outside of the "noise" of Portland with easy access to downtown. They have a lovely garden and I wish I had more time to spend amidst the flowers and herb gardens.
