Lazy Bear Cottage - Animal-Free Home Come enjoy the lazy lifestyle at Lazy Bear Cottage, only 10-minute drive from downtown Helen! We have your family covered at this extremely private creek front cottage. You have 3.2 acres to roam and enjoy the wildlife as you sit out on the large screened-in covered back deck or soak in the 7-Person hot tub spa also screened-in! With your family in mind we have stocked the kitchen with all your cooking needs and have a Keurig/Drip coffee maker to enjoy a cup of locally roasted coffee from Jumping Goat Coffee Company (Our favorite is the Southern Pecan). Enjoy grilling out off of the main floor front deck and step right into the large family room with a beautiful 8 seater table where everyone can sit and enjoy family time! The master bedroom is located conveniently on the main floor and boasts a large king bed with ensuite full bathroom. Sliding door onto the screened-in porch to enjoy the sounds of the creek first thing in the morning or slip out with your morning cup of coffee to enjoy nature! Don't worry there is plenty of room for others if you still want to bring them to this wonderful peaceful paradise! In this cabin we have three other guest bedrooms. Upstairs is another King Luxurious Bed with ensuite and Smart TV, downstairs you have a guest bedroom with Queen bed. Downstairs also has a game room with foosball, Smart TV, and a futon bed to sleep another 2 people if desired! Right off of the game room, you can walk outside to a screed-in and covered patio where your large hot tub awaits! We drain, clean, refill and set to heat for each guest so that you just have to step out and enjoy. You have views of the sprawling hillside and creek that regularly have wildlife to enjoy watching such as deer, squirrels, birds, and the occasional turtle that likes to creep on by! We created this private creekside cottage so that we could help families share memories together. We have lots of board and card games, a multigame table, and a fun casino-style bar to enjoy laughs through the night in the large living room with a seasonal gas fireplace. You will fall in love with the warmth and comfort you find at Lazy Bear Cottage. We enjoyed our stay at this rental. It is just about 5-1/2 miles to Helen. The property is beautiful, especially the creek in the back yard. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The house is well maintained and very clean. Plenty of games. There isn’t a bathroom on the main level in the living room area, so everyone has to use the master bedroom bathroom, or go upstairs to the bedroom-bathroom upstairs. The master bathroom has an automatic light/fan than comes on when you go in. It stays on about 15 minutes, which is annoying when you get up during the night and the light and fan stays on. It also turns off while you are showering and you have to shake the shower curtain to turn it back on. The master bed sinks towards the middle. The road leading to the cabin is gravel, and the hill leading in was quite bumpy and rutty. I’m sure it has to be maintained regularly, and maybe that will be repaired soon. There was plenty of parking for all our family’s vehicles. The hot tub is huge, and everyone really enjoyed it. My grown kids enjoyed the fire pit near the creek. I would definitely recommend this home for a group or large family.

Lazy Bear Cottage provided a cozzy home feeling for my family. There was plenty of room for all. There were both indoor and outdoor activities that were loved by all ages. My 7 year old grandson hasn’t stopped talking about it and wants us to buy it. I recommend that any family like ours, parents, children and grands stay here. It would also work well for a group retreat.
We also enjoyed activities in Helen.

We loved it. The creek was awesome. We thought the stocked pond would be bigger but it was cute. We didn't catch anything but had fun trying. It rained for 2 days so the hot tub was used a lot. We loved the large dining room table.

We had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving week at Lazy Bear Cottage! With the chill in the air we enjoyed keeping warm with the fireplace inside and had a fire in the outside fire pit every evening. The cabin had everything needed for our stay. Spent a day in Helen and hiked up to see Ana Ruby Falls another day. Enjoyed our stay and recommend to everyone coming to north Georgia!

The cabin was absolutely perfect for our family! The proximity to downtown Helen and the other state parks made it ideal for being able to pop in and out between nap times with the kids. We honestly enjoyed the little town area of Sautee the most, and there was a park just down the road. It was also the most well stocked house we’ve rented, and didn’t even have to use the extra supplies we had packed. Our kids loved having a bonfire each night and running around all the property during the day. It’s the perfect combination of getting away from all the busyness of Helen, but still being close enough to get into town. All of us wish we had made this a longer trip!

We stayed here with our extended family, our kids, their spouses, and families...we had a party of ten at the cabin.
The space is well stocked, and really comfortable. The 3 adult couples had privacy, and the kids had their own play and sleep space!
We LOVED the upstairs/main level balcony as a regular hangout.
The kids and adults loved playing and sitting in the creek in the back yard, and the firepit was a great place to relax late into the evening.
The property had LOTS of wildlife, we saw an armadillo in the evening near the firepit, a raccoon and deer in the backyard while relaxing in the creek, had an early morning visit from a bear in the front yard, and saw a small herd of deer and a brown owl early one evening when returning from town.
I highly recommend Lazy Bear Cabin, and plan to rent again in the future.
The Location is super convenient too, as it's a short drive to many local tourist places.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful, very clean and well stocked. Towels, pots and pans. My family really enjoyed our stay! The back porch is amazing the view and listing to the water from the creek so relaxing

I loved the privacy and the ample amount of parking for this cabin! When we got in we found everything you would need for a trip and the house was clean and ready to go. The creek out back was beautiful.

Lazy Bear cabin was large and spacious, plenty of room for a large family. The stay was very nice. We loved how quiet, secluded the cabin was, we were able to walk right out to a fire pit and sit by the creek which was relaxing. Everything was super clean, plenty of supplies from kitchen utensils, to toilet paper, and towels. Super kid friendly with all the many games available, pool table, hockey table, ping pong table, darts and all the many board games. The tvs all worked in each room, we were able to stream movies and other channels. The large selection of sleeping options was great! I really loved walking out on the several decks which was nice, one even having a grill. The hot tub was large and awesome especially at night with all the lights around in the enclosed porch/deck area. Location was great too within minutes from fun amenities, cute country stores, restaurants, and to the town of Helen. The rental company was also very helpful and friendly. Definitely would recommend the Lazy Bear cabin.

We have rented a lot of cabins in Helen but this one by far was my favorite. With 5 kids there was plenty of room and things to keep them busy. Friday was a rainy day so we spent most of the day inside playing games that was at the cabin when we arrived. The creek is amazing to listen to on the porch in the mornings or while relaxing in the hot tub. We will definitely be back. We always stay at a different cabin every time but I think we found our forever cabin. Thanks for a wonderful weekend..

This is the second time staying at this location,and like last time it was perfect. Some modifications have been made since last year, only enhanced the stay even more. The cabin is in the perfect spot for Helen or Cleveland. Definitely coming back again, and again.

We stayed for a long weekend as 2 families of 4 with 4 adults and 4 teenagers. The setup of the house was perfect with two master suites and lots of room for the teenagers downstairs. The house was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed Helen and the surrounding area and are hoping to return for the fall colors!

Everyone I spoke with for the Lazy Bear Cabin were very friendly! The cabin was cozy and sits with a creek in the backyard that sounds so peaceful while soaking in the hot tub! My family and I will definitely be back!!

This is a great quiet property close to so many highlights in the area. We enjoyed a German meal in Helen, spent a day at Unicoi/Anna Ruby Falls, and did a lot of relaxing at the house. It had everything we were looking for - beautiful private scenery, hot tub, fire pit, close to hikes/natural attractions. Since it was winter, we didn't explore the creek, but it would be perfect for my 3 young kids to play in during warmer months! (And the reason I'm looking into another trip here in summer!) Just sitting by the firepit listening to the bubbling water was great this time. There's plenty of space for kids to run around outside and explore without even leaving the property. Wi-fi is fast and can handle multiple streaming devices. The house was well-stocked with everything (plenty of towels without having to do laundry all the time), kitchen was well organized as was everything else you could be looking for (all the labels and signs were helpful). If we come back to the area, I would look to book this house again.

Grandparents and son's family of five boys from Miami, Florida stayed the week before Christmas. We had a great time being together and there was plenty to do in and around Helen, Georgia. The home was very clean, well decorated, and had lots of games available including pool and air hockey. We did not use the hot tub due to the weather, but we did use the fire ring in the back yard to make s'mores. The four bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the gas fireplace made the inside comfortable.
The only real complaint was about the front steps. The door threshold is several inches above the top step and the storm door closes so quickly that it can catch your foot before you have time to get inside. That may seem to be a minor inconvenience, but it did cause a couple of trips at the door.
The location is very secluded and private while offering reasonable access to Helen and Cleveland.
Overall, we had a great time and would recommend staying at the Lazy Bear Cottage!

The Lazy Bear was a nice cabin / home that was in a very quiet location. It was exactly as described and we all had a great time there! We would definitely recommend this property and stay there again if we're in the area!

Perfect cabin for our family
We had a wonderful time. The cabin is close to Helen, GA with lots of activities for the whole family. We loved the scenic backyard of the cabin with the sound of the creek. It was very peaceful. The kids loved having the hot tub and game tables. We spent a rainy day in the cabin and it was great having so much to do. We found the cabin easily and everything appeared clean when we arrived. We only had a minor issue with getting the front door open when we first got there. It likes to stick. We called and got help immediately over the phone. They were very kind and were willing to send help out immediately if we didn’t get it to work, but fortunately we were able to finally wiggle it loose. Everything else was perfect and working fine.

The cabin itself is excellent. It's location also makes it perfect being between Helen and Cleveland. This will be my goto cabin.

Property is perfect for a family get-away. The creek that runs the back of the property is so beautiful and relaxing to listen to the babble of the water. Our family had plans to go to a snow resort for a daytrip but everyone voted no- they wanted to just hangout in the cabin and play games- so we did. We really enjoyed our family time. Plenty to do right there!

Great cabin only a few miles from the shops and attractions in Helen. We had plenty of room and the cabin is awesome. Hot tub was clean and the scenery was beautiful. Quiet location and highly recommended. Will stay again in the future.

Great family time.
Beautiful quiet setting. The entire family had a wonderful time playing pool and other games, soaking in the hottub, and relaxing by the firepit and roasting marshmallows to make s'mores. Oh yeah, the boys went fishing and caught 7 trout. Froze them and brought home for a fishfry.
My husband and I stayed in a smaller but equally nice cabin last year which is why we came back with family.

Cozy private cabin
We had a great time at Lazy Bear. The kids (and adults) enjoyed playing by the creek, and the table games helped keep them entertained. The hot tub and fire pit were perfect for cool nights and mornings. Note that the road in is a little rustic, and isn’t all that well marked. When you see the “private drive” signs it’s ok, that’s for you. It’s very private back there. Great trip!

Wonderful weekend at a very comfortable and relaxing cabin
My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. The house was very quiet and peaceful. We loved being set back from the road a little bit to enjoy the stream and the trees while still being only maybe 10-15 minutes from downtown Helen. The cabin had everything you could need or want for a nice getaway. Loved being able to relax in the hot tub or sit on the porch and listen to the stream!
I definitely would recommend this place to anyone. It was super easy to book and get in and out of. It is spacious and very well setup. We will definitely be coming back again!
