5 STAR SEASIDE STUDIO @ 3 STAR PRICE!!----from $799 PER WEEK
About this condo rental
Less than 200 feet from shoreline.....And some of the *only* shoreline that features a small beach, tide pools and ocean side lawns complete with loungers! Island owners' personal seaside getaway with ocean views from the sofa, bed and balcony. Beautifully maintained unit--Complete renovation in late 2012. Latest “Upgrade” —October, 2021. Stylishly appointed, this 4 room studio suite (478sq.ft.) was designed with comfort foremost in mind. Commodious seating, 550+TC pima cotton bedding, a Simmon's Cal-King mattress (w/Nova foam topper!) and quality bath linens are just a few of the “upscale” amenities. The cool blue and stone colored walls compliment the contemporary furnishings, clean lines, hardwoods, bamboo flooring and oriental carpets. Waves play in the floor to ceiling beveled mirror wall panel. The South Pacific (w/Asian influence) art found throughout the apartment lends an exotic air to the décor. The same care to detail is shown throughout the rest of the suite. An oriental folding privacy screen placed in front of the opened door (heavy high security screen door w/serious lock) gives you air flow on 3 sides~~ah, those island breezes. This is rare in a condo. Combined with the efficient ceiling fan, you’ll find little need for the air-con. Of course, air con is available at all times. Settle in on the super comfy Italian love-seat, put your feet up on the ottoman and watch a little NETFLIX (on the "Smart TV") on those "stay-in" evenings. AFTER you catch the sunset! Location: 'The Kona Bali Kai'. Midway down Ali'i Drive is famous surf spot 'Banyans' (your view, as pictured in the slide show), adjacent to the Kona Bali Kai main building. (2 miles north to 'Restaurant Row' and the Village, 3 miles south to Keahou Bay and less than a mile to “Magic Sands” beach.) Across and just south from the main building, 12 unit 'Building 3' is easily accessed and has a 'laid back' feeling not usually associated with condos. The unit is on the slightly elevated (10 ft. above sea level) first floor (easy access and GOOD VIEWS OF OCEAN *OVER* 2 LANE ALI'I DRIVE). Private residences on the north and east, a 'Mom and Pop' style market (w/ spirits) on the south and the Pacific Ocean to your west. HAWAII COUNTY REGISTRATION: STVR 19-376892 GE/TA-151-702-5792-01

Great location. You can see the ocean from the balcony. Could have used a thorough cleaning, though.

The place was very old and dirty. There was rust and corrosion on the shower, fridge, and sinks. Inside the silverware drawer there was crumbs so we had to wash everything before and after use. The shower had a clog because when you would be in it for a few min the tub would fill up. There was only two bath towels so if you needed another you were out of luck. The A/C unit was very loud and water dripped from it. When we arrived there was a pack of medicine leftover from someone else next to the bed which tells me it wasn’t cleaned well. I felt like I needed to keep my shoes on inside.

Great location, very close to some beaches, downtown Kona. Wish we could stay longer! Owner is very responsive, clean, roomy studio, all we needed. Hope to go back!

Right across the ocean. A good spot for surfers, saw many from early am til dawn. Other beaches a short distance away.

Great! Would stay again!

The studio was comfortable and was felt much roomier than I expected given its size. The location was also great: the community was quiet, has a private pool + hot tub, and is only a 10 minute drive from Kaliua-Kona.
I just wish the property managers paid a bit more attention to detail. The window AC unit is still loud and ineffective, despite the same issue being flagged by multiple previous tenants. My wife and I had trouble sleeping because the unit was both uncomfortably warm and loud.
Also: (1) the internet didn't work until I rebooted the Fiber converter, modem, and router several times; (2) we never managed to figure out how to use the four different remotes to operate the TV, and (3) we never got the check-in or out instructions to load, and (4) all of the information in the unit was two months old.
In short: it's a nice unit at a good price, so I can't complain. But don't expect top-notch service.

The property was generally OK but the AC was like a jet engine! I see a similar review in January and they seemed to indicate the AC unit was going to be replaced. NOT SO!

Overall it's a decent place to stay with quite a bit of room, good bed, small but good kitchen and a great location. Definitely not 5 star. Since we stayed at 2 other similar non-hotel places in Hawaii prior to this, we'd definitely rank this one 3rd best. I'm guessing it's at least 30+ years old and other than paint not overly updated. Decorating is rather brown and dark.
The shower/bath was a bigger issue for us - it's a very old bath tub and does not have a flat bottom/very curved so was extremely slippery and hard to stand without falling. There was no bath mat so we put a towel in the bottom for better stability and that worked.
Looks like the condo management company provided some "current activities" to go to, but it was from last year and clearly not updated.
It is a nice place, but the other VRBO owners we've used go out of their way to communicate frequently, keep everything current & safe, and ensure we have everything needed throughout the stay.

The beach really is directly across the road. You can see it from the lanai (or balcony). You can also hear the waves crashing at night. There is a nice, safe place to cross the road and there is also Banyans Mini Mart next door. The trolley is free to go up and down the main strip and there is a stop on both sides of the road close to the apartment. The apartment had everything we needed and directions from the host were very clear and informative. Definitely recommended by my husband and myself!

Nice place, nice pool, beautiful oceanfront across the street (we even saw turtles in the water and a whale while watching the sunset one night!!). Easy drive to Kona and other area sites.

This was a great place to stay to enjoy the Kona area and explore the island. It was a short drive to lots of great food and beaches. We highly recommend visiting the art colony village of Holualoa (if you Google map to Glyph gallery, you’ll find it). The only small downsides were that the condo building’s hot tub had dirty foam in it, and seemed poorly maintained (although we didn’t report this and maybe it could be attended to).

This studio apartment had some pluses and minuses for us as listed below.
Pluses: well outfitted, accurate description (see photos from owner), clean, pool and picnic facilities, and across the street from the ocean
Minuses: close to street (some noise from cars/motorcycles at night), A/C very loud and didn't keep temperature (apartment was very warm without it), neighbor's security light shines all night (not completely filtered out by the blinds if ceiling fan was on), and towels/sheets smelled of mildew.
For us, the minuses outweighed the pluses. We moved to a hotel after 1 night since we could not sleep due to noise/light. I contacted the owner after our stay and they said that they could have replaced the A/C unit and dealt with the linens. So, probably not a concern for future renters.

The place was across from a very lovely beachfront park that was well used by surfers. Not accessible for snorkling with the high surf at the time of our stay but were some great tidal pools to explore. Honu (sea turtle) were a frequent sighting feeding in these and near to shore. The place itself had all we needed. There was a beach umbrella but it was very broken and snorkle gear (2masks, 2 pairs of fins, no snorkles) that were obviously not looked after/ cleaned so unusable. Overall well managed building and the sounds of the waves at night are lovely!

Nice room close to the beach. Really pleasant stay.

This is a great spot. Close to the action but far enough away that it’s not too busy. Walked across the street every morning to enjoy our coffee and watch the waves and the surfers. Great communication with the host. Very comfortable space. Only negative is this is a first floor studio and if the person staying above you is heavy of foot, you’re going to hear it. This was a great spot and we really enjoyed our time here. Mahalo!!

We had a nice time staying in this place we were across the street from the beach and pool. We used the grill which was nice. Street to cross was a little busy but there was a cross walk nearby. Free parking. We were close to all that we wanted to do. Quieter area than some which was nice. Nice view from lanai We had just what we needed.

There was excellent communication from the start. The condo was easy to find and access code simplified getting in and out. Great little place with all the essentials. It was nice to have a coffee maker, shower and beach towels, boogie boards, local guides, and a comfortable mattress. With a lot of back trouble, I was especially appreciative of the mattress.
The location was great! Close enough to everything to make a quick and easy trip, but far enough down Ali'i drive to avoid the crowds. The little beach across the street was wonderful! It was so nice to relax in my hammock listening to the waves and watching the surfers.
Thank you for the perfect little getaway spot!

The property was in a great location. You can cross the street to the beach and you also had a partial view of the beach from the balcony. It’s a lovely apartment with a homie feel.

The property is clean and has all the amenities needed for a vacation that feels a little like home. Spacious enough for two people. It is in the most perfect location, just across the street from the ocean and next door to a little liquor store/market. The pool and hot tub were great, and it was open late which is hard to find. The host was quick to reply to any questions. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

From the photos , I had the impression this unit directly faced the ocean. It has a limited view of the water from the inland side of the road. So, I was somewhat disappointed. But I cant say there was deliberate deception in the photos. Otherwise, it was nice enough. I have no reason not to recommend it, but if I return to Kona, I would also check out other places before I stayed here again.

Great location
This VRBO had everything we needed. The kitchen had the necessary things for eating breakfast and getting us out the door in the mornings. If we had wanted to cook or bake, there was a stove and oven.
This space is cozy and clean and decorated nicely. The air conditioner felt so nice as we came in from being outside.
The location is AMAZING! We had no idea when we picked this spot, that is would work out so well! This is located just across the street from the beach and ocean. You can hear the waves at night. You have access to park across the street in the parking. This VRBO had beach chairs that we took across the street and sat and watched the ocean. For our last few minutes after we had checked out of the VRBO, we drove our rental car into the parking area across the street and got out and watched the Ocean.
We would stay here again!

When Covid had us putting our Kona trip on hold, the owner was awesome enough to hold our stay for us until the following year.
We absolutely loved our visit and can’t say enough how happy we are to have stayed in such a sweet centrally located condo.

Respite from chaos
We loved looking at the water from the lanai. We enjoyed being in a separate building from the other residents. The kitchen was big enough for two and the studio never felt small.
We were close enough to the hustle and bustle of Kona proper wihouth the traffic and noise. It was a respite from chaos.

This is a pretty condo that has close access to parking, the street, the beach, and the trolley into town. Very comfortable and clean. Great value too! Thanks Rebecca.
