Good location, drunk staff, helpful owner

location was good, and the private bathroom coming with the private room was a plus

the Guy welcoming us as we arrived was drunk and didn’t want to give us the private room we booked for until he got a call from his boss (because I complained to him)

The family was super friendly and helpful

Room needs a bit of work, mattresses were as thin as paper, it could use some painting, there were only two plugs in the room.

Awesome location, friendly and kind staff, not a social space.

The location was perfect and the staff were very kind and helpful! We had a private room, it was all it needed to be. Nothing fancy.

There weren’t many other guests out and about and not really anywhere to hangout or relax at the hostel - not a social hostel for meeting people I would say.

Great place to stay, felt like family.

This is a very good hostel at a fantastic price. The family who runs it are super nice and will help with whatever you need. It felt like I was part of their family. They even held a karaoke night at the request of some guests, which was so much fun! Plenty of chilling spaces including hammocks, so it was easy to meet other travelers. There is music from a club down the street, but the fans in the dorm drowned out the noise (but were quiet enough to sleep). I will return next time I'm in town.

The kitchen cooking area is small, so if it was already in use, I came back later. It would be nice if drinking water was included, but it was cheap at only 10 cordobas per liter for a refill.

Good location just next to pacha mama for Sunday funday and around a 5 minute walk into the centre of town. Staff super nice and helpful. Access to a kitchen.

Didn't have any water during our stay, rooms are very basic

Good lucation next to bay, friendly staff, safe, nice hammocks. Best for younger crowd who can sleep through noise and bring their own towels. A good deal if you stay in the dorm rooms.

Loud music playing all night next door and dogs on property barking in the early hours. No towels available. Clean. Extremely hot with litte ventilation and inadequate fans to counteract. Did not sleep. Had to drip dry and leave bathroom sopping wet due to no towels in our private hotel room with ensuite bathroom despite asking several times for towels.

I had a very nice stay at Gravity and would definitely come back!

Very friendly and helpful staff, cute dogs running around, free coffee in the mornings and the location was perfect. Big and clean kitchen and if you needed anything, Rahel or Erick are very eager to help you in any way.

It is a nice and chill place but they need to improve some bugs

Helpful staff members

The room was very hot and and the fan was not working as it should. we have to sleep with a door open to keep the room a bit cooler. The problem was that mosquitos started getting inside so it was either sleeping in a very hot room or fighting with mosquitos all night. Also there weren’t enough dishes to cook and serve food.

The best value option in all of San Juan del Sur!

The hosts are super friendly and gladly helped me out with everything i needed during my stay. They speak English and of course Spanish extremely well. Rahel is from from Switzerland so she also speaks perfect German. The location is perfect being very close to the beach as well as the Bars and Hostels where most big parties start. There is a good and cheap laundry service right around the corner and in 3 minutes you are in the centre with lots of street food, supermarkets, ATMs, restaurants, and transport to the nearby beaches and popular surf spots. There is a community kitchen with lots of space, as well as a huge fridge and a freezer that you can use. There are ceiling fans in all of the rooms and despite the hostel being so close to the party locations there is barely any noise that makes it into the rooms so I slept very well every night! At this price in addition to the great location and super helpful hosts, Gravity House is the best stay in San Juan that I have seen personally. Especially if you are on a budget, this is the place to go! 🦎🐬🦒
