About this house rental
Situated in Sitka, this lovely house for $296 per night is a great choice for your next break. Located on Jamestown Bay, we have a spacious one bedroom, one bath, fully furnished and equipped secluded apartment. The views include our barrier islands and mountains, as well as the bay, channel, and Sitka Sound. As you relax you may catch a glimpse of hummingbirds, eagles, and other bird life, as well as whales that visit the sound and Eastern Chanel. We are here to make your stay with us as comfortable and enjoyable as we can. The rental has a full supply of quality linens, extra pillows, and blankets, and comfy towels. During the Summer there are blueberries, raspberries, and salmon berries on the property. Enjoy yourself on the deck as you look out onto the Sound. A grill is located on the deck for grilling up our amazing Sitka seafoods. Many activities are available year round with plenty of hikes for all levels. Enjoy various musical events, craft bazaars, and farmers/artisan markets. Kayaks and other water rental are available if you are ready to enjoy our ocean and island. We hope you come visit and enjoy your stay with us.

Really loved our 6 night stay in Sitka at Pam and Mike’s guest quarters. Perfect size, immaculate, relaxing and the views spectacular. Convenient to town (we rented a car) but able to get far enough away for a restful vacation while visiting our daughter. Made dinner at the apartment one night, breakfast each day and enjoyed Sitka to its fullest. What a great spot! Thank you, Pam and Mike!

We had the entire downstairs of a home just outside Sitka with a view of the bays and islands around Sitka. Hostess was pleasant and answered our questions. Had large TV which we never turned on as we ate dinner watching the ocean. Would stay again.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay! We especially enjoyed the breathtaking views of Jamestown Bay from the large window in the living room. The apartment was furnished very nicely and comfortably, and it was super clean! It is conveniently located as well... just a couple of miles from town. And last, but certainly not least, are the friendly owners, who were very responsive to my multiple questions prior to arrival. We would most definitely stay here again!

Sitka Getaway
Such a good experience and cute place to stay in Sitka! Mike & Pam are excellent hosts; accommodating, great local advice and recommendations, and lots of attention to detail for their guests. The apartment itself is super cute and clean, seems like it’s been recently refreshed and is well-appointed. And the views, incredible! Binos available to sit for hours watching the water, hummingbirds galore at the feeders right outside the window, and some oil and seasonings for your catch or fish from the processor in town. If you aren’t renting a car, just be mindful of the distance from town and cab availability. The place is about a 20 min walk from the main attractions, but we didn’t mind and used the bus that stops down the street when we did. My only suggestion, if I were being picky, would be to maybe move the bed to face the window…what a great view to wake up to! Thanks so much for having us, if we’re ever back in Sitka we will be sure to check availability for S.B. Daiquiri!!

Mike and Pam were great hosts and very friendly people. The accommodations were extremely clean and comfortable with great views. The bikes were awesome for getting around and saving us some money. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this rental to friends!

Just as listed, quiet, out of the way, but not too far from town. Great facilities, just wish I had time to use them to their full capability.

Took a chance on this new and unrated listing and Iʻm glad I did! Itʻs two miles outside of downtown Sitka and an easy walk or bike-ride into town. Since I like to walk and prefer to stay in quieter places outside of city centers it was a perfect place to "live like a local." The accommodation is very clean and airy, great natural light and gorgeous views of Jamestown Bay, fantastic kitchen, comfy bed and furnishings, charming tight-knit neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The hosts are wonderful, quiet, and very accommodating, even when I had an idiot moment with the in-unit washing machine haha. Very close to the Mt. Verstovia trailhead (a very challenging but amazing hike) and relatively close to the Thimbleberry and Heart Lakes hiking trail. A convenience/liquor store and a pizza/Mexican restaurant are about halfway between the apartment and downtown. My only minor "con" was the wifi wasn't fast enough for me to do some work I'd planned on doing remotely (that involved downloading and uploading some rather large files) and video conference calls were iffy at times, but it was otherwise perfectly fine for sending and receiving emails with reasonable attachments and streaming entertainment. (Turns out most Sitka households have satellite internet.) Cell phone service is solid. Weather was perfect the final day/night I stayed and the Kernins invited me to hang out with them and their neighbors at their fire pit in the evening. I would absolutely stay here again if I visit Sitka again in the future; I really didn't want to leave!
