About this condo rental
Situated in La Jolla, this charming condo for $274 per night is a great option for your next vacation. This newly renovated studio apartment has gorgeous panoramic views of Torrey Pines State Reserve, Peñasquitos Lagoon and the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy the scenery from your windows, private balcony, and large deck. Located in a residential neighborhood, it's a short walk to a coffee shop, 4 restaurants, and Torrey Pines State Beach. Nearby Torrey Pines State Reserve has miles of trails. for every ability. Drive 2 miles north to the seaside village of Del Mar or hop on the I-5 or 56 freeways to easily access within minutes all that beautiful San Diego has to offer. The studio is bright and airy; windows and skylights provide lots of natural light but black out shades provide darkness when you want to sleep in. We've tried to provide everything we like in a home-away-from home! The modern kitchen has what's generally needed to prepare, cook and store food, but if there's an additional appliance you like to use, we're happy to lend it. The furnishings are contemporary, and we're told that the bed and bath linens are especially comfy. Washer and dryer are on property. Store your golf clubs, bike or surf/paddle board in the secure garage. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella are provided, and there is an outdoor shower to wash off sand. Off-street driveway parking spot is included. The studio is located above our detached garage. You access it by entering our shared, enclosed courtyard, then have one flight of stairs to your front door and private deck. Motion detector lights illuminate your way after dark. Stays of more than a month are exempt from the tax. Although our setting is generally very tranquil, there are noises out of our control that we would like you to be aware of. Monday mornings the trash pickup is at 7:00 am; trains occasionally traverse the Peñasquitos Lagoon valley and sometimes aircraft from MiraMar Airbase stray from their normal flight path. All these occurrences are commonplace in coastal Del Mar; we hope they won't impact your stay with us. We absolutely love this property. The studio has beautiful views, and it was very comfortable with plenty of space and everything we needed. Carol and Paul are very warm and helpful hosts. We were really sad to leave and have already booked a return trip!

Carol & Paul ensured that everything would be--and was--wonderful with their rental studio apartment. It was beautifully clean, serene, relaxing, and well stocked in ways that matter, allowing guests to focus upon enjoying their relaxation time. A super fabulous place! The apartment was charming, spacious and very bright. It was very clean with all the amenities. It is walking distance to the beach and a few eateries along the way including a coffee shop. The location is very easy to get around and sight see. We went to several different beaches. Whole Foods is not far. The coastal cycling trail is so easy to get to and the bird watching in the wetland preserve from the balcony was a favorite thing for me to do. If you like bird watching do not forget to bring your binoculars! The hosts are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

Gorgeous views of the Los Penasquitos Lagoon and Torrey Pines Sate Natural Reserve and coastline. Lots of hiking trails at the Reserve or just down the road at the Torrey Pines Extension, as well as miles of beach to walk. Many good restaurants within walking distance.
The studio itself is very clean and well appointed. There are 2 deck areas for morning or afternoon sun. The hosts, Carol and Paul couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating.
The only minor problem with the area is the amount of air traffic from the San Diego Naval Air Station, which can be loud at times.
Would definitely recommend!

This place was absolutely perfect for my husband and I's month long stay in Del Mar. Everything we could have needed was provided for us (parking pass for beach, beach chairs, beach bags + towels, kitchen supplies, laundry, etc). Anything we needed or asked for was promptly responded to by our amazing hosts. It is the perfect location - distant ocean view, walkable to the beach, and walkable to a couple restaurants + a coffee shop. The bed was comfortable, and even though the place is a studio it had plenty of room for my husband and I to work from home for the whole month. The cherry on top was the patio that we were able to sit out on and enjoy the weather + view from. 100% would recommend this VRBO!

We were here for a week. The studio was immaculately clean. All appliances were top of the line. The unit was like brand new... attractively painted with nice furnishings. It was convenient to have a dresser for clothing and a large closet as well. One of our favorite features was a small writing desk that was beneath a window. The view was out to the Penasquitos Lagoon and the north side of Torrey Pines State Park. Lovely. There was also a sweet little outside balcony area terrific for morning coffee or wine and sunsets.
Owners were courteous, friendly and responsive to a few requests we had. Only con was traffic noise from a very busy road nearby. We found that good quality ear plugs worked well for sleeping. Bring if you are noise sensitive like we are.
Carol and Paul were great hosts. We would recommend.

The studio has so much light, it is heaven sent. The beautiful windows allow you to look out on the preserve and contemplate for hours. It was so destressing, I felt like I went to a spa for the week. There is a beautiful deck to sit out on and a smaller balcony to enjoy your morning coffee. Carol and Paul could not be more accomodating hosts. Two of the most interesting and kind people I have had the pleasure of staying with.

Everything was really great. Location is absolutely perfect, with so much to do within walking distance. The best NY pizza west of New York is 5 minutes away by foot. 5 good restaurants within walking distance. Beach is also walking distance or you can park using the hosts Annual Pass at no charge. Host provides umbrella and beach chairs, towels etc. Driveway parking at the property. Only thing I would have preferred is the chase lounger and fire pit to be on the ocean side of the Casita. They are behind it but not a deal killer. We will be back for sure!

The apartment came just as advertised and was as neat as a pin. Paul and Carol couldn’t have been nicer or more responsive. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to others.

This was our first time in San Diego and we had no idea what to expect. We have stayed in at least 25 VRBO homes in both the States and Europe over the years. Carol and Paul's level of hospitality was unmatched. Every detail (including personalized breakfast choices) was met. The place was spotless and the bed was perfect. By far, our favorite spot was the two seater table overlooking the Torrey Pines State Park. Carol provided a parking pass (normally $20 a day) that also allowed us to drive to the top of the park and walk as many trails as we could handle (Breathtaking views). We hit many beaches, Old Town, Gaslamp district, and more. My husband golfed at four spectacular courses with his favorite (Torrey Pines) being just 5 minutes away. You are truly in the center of everything. I am already missing our sanctuary and hope to go back very soon. Thank you, Carol and Paul for a wonderful vacation!!

We really enjoyed our three week stay at this Vrbo. Exceptionally clean and well stocked with beautiful views. The location is fantastic with a short walk to the Torrey Pines State Beach, a coffee shop and a few restaurants, plus easy access to touristy coastal towns as well as downtown San Diego. The hosts, Carol and Paul, are super gracious and thoughtful. Del Mar is a lovely town with nice restaurants, parks, and beaches, plus a nice farmers market on Saturdays. Our dog really enjoyed our morning walks at the Del Mar Dog Beach. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend this Vrbo!

A completely delightful stay from start to finish! It feels so safe, so clean, and so well thought out to maximize comfort. Everything is lovely, from the bathroom towels, to the art, the bedspread, the paint colors, etc. And I've never stayed at a rental property that was so well stocked with everything I could possibly need.😍

We had a wonderful three week stay in this beautiful private studio. Carol and Paul were gracious, very responsive, and helpful hosts. We especially appreciated the proximity to the ocean and Torrey Pines State Park and our two terraces, both with sea views. Several nearby restaurants and a convenience store were handy and delightful Del Mar is just a short drive away. This is the perfect retreat for relaxation, hiking, and exploring San Diego’s many attractions!

Adjacent to Torrey Pines State Park with trails and cliff views of the coastal Pacific. Your hosts (Paul and Carol), provide for all your needs, to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Our stay in Del Mar was fantastic! The luxurious studio was equipped with all the amenities we could have desired and the host was incredibly accommodating to our needs.
Additional highlights included: the bright and airy studio, easy access to beaches and parks, and a peaceful location that was just outside of the busy downtown area, but still offered plenty of nearby conveniences.
As someone who loves being in nature, the stunning views of the ever-changing lagoon and breathtaking sunsets were truly rejuvenating. We can't wait to come back and experience it all again!

This was one of our favourite VRBO stays. The property itself was beautiful and our host most welcoming.
The studio was equipped with everything you would need to be self sufficient and create culinary delights. Our host surprised us with two different grinds of Philz coffee for drip or French press!
Our balcony provided us with unrestricted views of the setting sun over the Pacific Ocean and it became a ritual every evening.
The location was fabulous with shops nearby and beach walks down the road. We are cyclists and the location was convenient for either strenuous Carmel Valley rides or easier coastal adventures.

Our stay was terrific! Carol and Paul couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. They made sure everything was perfect when we arrived. Carol even made an extra trip to the grocery for us. Above and beyond. The apartment was in a great location. It was very clean and had everything we could want/need. I appreciated the state park pass that allowed access to the beach and trails. This is a wonderful spot! We’ll stay again and again and again . . .

Stayed for 3 weeks and wish I’d planned a longer stay. The apartment is well appointed, comfortable and fabulously “beachy” with wood trim, skylights, and lots of light. The neighborhood is eclectic with food, coffee and market all within a short walk. I truly enjoyed the 10 minute walk to the beach.

This was the best experience we’ve ever had renting a VRBO. We had to be in town for medical issues so chose this VRBO near the hospital. Little did we know we’d get far more out of this stay. The property owners met us to show us the studio apt when we arrived, but we had already had several communications prior to our arrival. They ensured we had our preferred additions for our morning coffee and that we knew there would be road construction on the street likely during our stay. They offered for us to cancel with full refund since we were hoping for a quiet place to stay. We opted to stay with the open invitation to be refunded if we needed to shorten the trip. Besides the road construction- beyond their control, everything else was great about this property and the area. The pictures and info shared don’t fully do justice to how close you are to the most beautiful Torrey Pines State park/beach. You can literally walk there or drive to the south entrance and park closer if desired(daily fee was $20). However the gracious hosts Carol and Paul allowed us to use their parking pass due to the road construction driving us out during the day, where our needed rest was easier to get on that beautiful beach! They also refunded part of our payment even though we didn’t expect them too! Throughout the stay they shared homemade goodies (muffins and cookies) and hosted us for breakfast one morning. They provided lots of great ideas of places to dine, things to do, hikes nearby,etc.
The price was amazing for this space and hospitality! We hope to stay again, if they have openings! Seriously, if the dates open-you need to book here!
The only downside might be that there are a flight of stairs to climb to get inside the studio, and it is truly only suitable for up to 2 people. But if those are not an issue for your travel plans- book it!

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely studio. It is just as pictured. It has a great view of the Los Peñasquitos Marsh Nature Preserve. It is very neat and clean. Should you choose to do so, the kitchen has all the amenities for meal prep. It is perfect for a couple, near all the major attractions in San Diego and a short walk to restaurants, a sports bar, and a coffee shop. Carol was a very gracious host. Upon our arrival she gave us a quick tour and even had some fresh flowers for us. Should you need anything or have any questions, she is readily available. Highly recommended. A definite repeat.

Such a quaint place and fantastic location! The spacious studio is equipped with everything you might need during your stay and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the quality of the bath linens super nice! There is also a fan for those of us who need white noise to sleep. The bathroom had skylights which offer natural lighting and I liked that they retained original features while offering modern conveniences like a dishwasher and air conditioning. There was beach gear such as chairs, beach bag, umbrella and beach towels. The walk to the beach was very easy or you can drive as there is ample street or paid parking. Along the way there are restaurants, a coffee shop (super cute) and a little market if you need snacks or sundries. The view out the window and private deck is Los Peñasquitos Marsh Natural Preserve and Lagoon with Torrey Pine bluffs in the backdrop…just gorgeous! Last but not least, the owners were absolutely amazing. They were very attentive, provided excellent communication and genuine hospitality. I cannot wait to come back!

The hosts were very kind and helpful. The property was spotless and furnished with everything needed for a stay at the shore. Great location convenient to everything in San Diego. Bed was comfortable and views of marsh and ocean were nice. Although there was air conditioning, we just used a floor fan and slept great.
