Booked a king with jacuzzi, there was good and bad with our stay.
Good: jacuzzi tub, bedding, bathroom, and living space seemed cleaned(minus the cobwebs in the light in the bathroom), location was perfect, and nice sandy beach.
Bad: bed was extremely hard, the room had a distinct smell kinda musty, tv remote had a mind of its own, more of a motel feel then hotel, no dirty laundry bags, breakfast was at completely different hotel and wasn’t appetizing.
We would probably not stay again because of the bed, neither of us got any sleep and left with a sore back.

The two ladies at check in were very helpful and friendly.. was a lovely welcoming.. The King room with whirlpool tub was absolutely fantastic. Clean and quiet. Outside facilities could use some tlc for sure. The breakfast situation could use some work.. having to walk to the hotel next door for coffee is a bit ridiculous.. (had a coffee maker in room. But no coffee) other than that! We will most definitely return..

Location of hotel is walking distance to shops and restaurants. Room was clean. Left patio door open at night to listen to the waves, which was awesome. Beautiful sunrises. Only difficulty was information on the layout of the property. Direction on getting to elevators was vague. They are actually located in the a joining hotel. The breakfast buffet (if you can call it that) is also in the other hotel. Buffet was pretty mediocre at best. Also couldn’t find any luggage cart, might be a problem for older guest

Was initially put off by all the negative reviews, but having stayed there for two nights I really don't understand them. Yes, it's an older hotel so the bathroom isn't up to modern standards, Having said that, it was remodeled, bed linens were good, and clean. Close to Star Line ferry and a few blocks from the mall.

We almost canceled our reservation after reading some of the bad reviews, but I'm glad we didn't. Our experience was great. Our room was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the location of the hotel was perfect. The balcony was even spider free!

The property was great. It could have been cleaner. No place to hang clothes and remote for TV did not work .

Like the beach. Easy to get to, quiet room. Love walking downtown.

Room was dark & needed updating. The toilet seat wasn’t fastened properly. It was fixed the next day. Shampoo bottles were too small.

Great customer service

Deck was filthy, garbage outside our room on the ground and room outrageously expensive.

Liked the in room jacuzzi, perfect location
2.0
The room was decent but the balcony was full of spiders and I feel that should be cleaned daily so people see the view that they paid extra for. The air conditioner is also outdated. There is no temperature control. Only high or low and one through eight. Even with it all the way up, it would cut off and become very hot in the room. A shuttle during coolers days to the water park would be a nice add on as water park passes are extra and people should be able to use them regardless of the weather.

Breakfast was extremely limited.
Dark room, so-so pillows.
Front desk people friendly, but would not select this hotel again.

Right on the water. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Indoor pool with hot tub. Check-in was excellent. Lade checking us in was very accommodating.

We stayed four nights. Location was great! Carpet seemed dirty otherwise room was ok. Pool and hot tub were dirty, did not use. Adjacent beach was littered and furniture was unkempt. Breakfast buffet had extremely limited options and was the same everyday.

The hotel is in a great location on Lake Huron. The rooms were fairly clean and quiet, however the lobby, exterior and beach area were not clean.
4.0
This property is on Lake Huron Beach and provide a fun swimming area. Most rooms are right on the beach.
Our room had 3 spiders hanging from the ceiling. After taking care of those we didn’t see another til morning.
The included breakfast was good but the cook had a hard time keeping up with the crowd. Overall I recommend this site because the beach was a perfect way to spend the evening.

I needed a handicap capable room for my mother but Travelocity must not have submitted my request and we ended up on the 3rd floor which was difficult. There’s an elevator but it’s far away in the adjoining hotel. One needs to be installed in the middle of this hotel.

I was very dissatisfied. The hotel looked run down. There was soap scum all around the inside of the jacuzzi tub - I called up the front desk and asked someone to come in and clean it before I even thought about taking a bath. NOT the experience I had expected, especially for the price I paid - $350.00 per night.

Decor was dated and less than clean. No breakfast on the premises. A little pricey for the room.

Good rooms and great view in the lakeside rooms. poor service and cleanliness around the property. Borderline rude staff at the front desk. Apparently, there are only a couple of people operating the property at the same time. Save yourself some embarrassment and go to the nearby Hamilton Inn or Best Western

Delayed in getting into room. Room not clean. Mentioned to desk but they didn’t offer anything

Absolutely dirty and outdated. Pool and hot tub were disgusting and dirty.

The location was great!! On the beach, 5 minute walk to town and the ferry boats. Unfortunately the property is in very dire need of maintenance and updating. It appears they have spent ZERO the last 20 years on updating the rooms and overall maintenance of any of the exterior.

This property was very dirty and needs help with repairs. The toilet seat was broken, the air conditioner was very loud and woke you up when it turned on. The carpet was filthy. The shower drain clogged when you were showering. We were out for the day after we checked in, assuming we would have maid service during the day. There was no maid service and no clean towels. It is pretty difficult to dry with a small hand towell. Outside the beach was gross, there was bird poop and feathers all over. Obvious it has been cleaned all season. There was 2 chaise loungers for guests. The lunchroom was so filthy you could not begin to prepare anything in this room. The courtyard had trash all over and hadn't been picked up in quite some time. This property is outdated and not worth the money Check out the properties before booking. Hopefully this review will help your decision!

Was nice lakeside view, but elevator was in the a different building, and if you take the stairs, there’s a lot of did bugs on the windows sill, the stairs were not clean, a cigarette butt was there for 2 days and still not removed.of course no room service, not even picking up th garbage. I give it 2-3 stars.

Hot tub was tepid and pool was cool.

Although not my usual lodging, I have stayed at some other Choice Hotels at other vacation destinations and found them acceptable to good. I kept my dislike for this property to myself, but other guests I would encounter in the parking lot volunteered issues like noisy rooms (you could hear people talking and their televisions in the adjacent rooms), wonky wi-fi, bizarre situation where the adjacent hotel (Hamilton Inn) connected to this property and you needed to drive through the common parking lot to use the elevator if you were on the second or third floor and use a common floor connection to transport luggage (unless you wanted to carry luggage up stairwells). The other guests complained that the front office staff were not helpful. I can personally confirm that. When I went to the office to ask for help to use the wi-fi the staff woman told me to use another wi-fi option. She was defensive and said they tell all the guests that at registration, but we weren't told that, and she wasn't there at the time. All the staff we encountered were from Jamaica - friendly but possibly the source of some misunderstandings. Ditto for the policy not to do room service unless requested. That is becoming standard for many hotels, but other properties have the information in the room. Instead, they have a sign on the counter, that is easily missed (and we did). The free breakfast options were very limited and not appealing so we chose to eat at nearby restaurants. Overpriced property!

Location was convenient for walking to ferry and restaurants and shops. Hotel was musty and gross. Hard bed. Breakfast was in hotel next door. Pool was nasty.

Nice place and great location

Staff was friendly, polite and accommodating. Room was not ready until after 5pm so we had to sit in a park waiting (long drive up, needed to wash up before going to dinner). Room was clean for the most part. Half the top of the aardrobe hadn't been wioed in months. Towels and lindns had a not so pleasant smell (not dirty, but not the clean smell you expect from freshly laundered hotel items).

The outdoor community patio by the beach was nice but it was very dirty. It should at least be sprayed off every morning with a water hose. Expedia falsely advertises the Deluxe King room with whirlpool bath as Lake View. It definitely is not and doesn't even have a balcony! I paid more for this room because it said LAKE VIEW! I didn't even use the whirlpool bath! This changed the whole atmosphere of our vacation. We love our balcony for our morning coffee and evenings. I do not ever book a room without a balcony unless I'm done this wrong this way. It was so disappointing.

Pretty good place to stay. Outdated but beds were comfortable, hotel was quiet (although we were there on a Tuesday night) best part was the sliding door to balcony and listening to waves on lake, but the sliding door wasn’t very well placed and screen was torn at the handle.

Lock to the connecting door, would not lock. Had to put a chair against the door. Dirty sheets on the ground outside our room. Pool not working. Had to go to another hotel forbthe free breakfast. The food was gone. No one was reflling the food or coffee. Trash was overflowing in the dinning room.
3.0
The pool was closed. The continental breakfast was closed. If you wanted either you needed to go the hotel next door. The hair dryer didn’t work, so glad that I brought my own. The lady at the check in and checkout was very friendly. The fireworks were great.
