This stay was a lay over after a long drive for 1 night. Rydges is always reliable.

Room was clean, but showing its age. Nice ocean view & close to everything. Parking was an additional $25 per night

Very friendly and helpful staff, will be staying again!

The hotel really needs some refurbishment. Everything looks dated

Loved the location and generous sized room. Easy walk to eateries and shops.
Lovely outlook some rooms, the pool s as d restaurant overlooking the water.

Disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of the room. Very tired and in need of a refresh.

It was nice to stay in this hotel. The room was quite big.

Great for a night to stop over on the way up the coast. Lovely rooftop pool and comfortable room for a family.

The accommodation was good! The rooms are a little on the older side (a few of the reviews state that) but they are clean and tidy, the bed was comfy and the room was a great size. There was nothing to complain about.

Only 1 lift working the duration of our stay which was very challenging especially in the mornings for the guests and room service staff, also one of the staff on the desk wasn’t very polite my husband. Being the face of the hotel need to be mindful of how he interacts with staff and guests.

overall great stay. Only downside was no air con in the bedrooms so in 30 degree heat days had reliance on the single split unit in the living area to moderately cool the bedrooms - useless if you then shut a bedroom door. A single pedestal fan was in the suite - but limited cooling effect.

The hotel definitely needs,
- Upgrade the rooms from 1990 to 2024
- Amenities and carpark to accommodate in holiday peak times.

Stayed there for 1 night as an overnight spot, happened to be NYE. Super helpful staff including helping me find a parking spot, and dinner recommendations. Facilities a little older but still good. Room with river views meant excellent views of fireworks from the balcony as a bonus!

This is a great option for the family friendly travellers, location is right in the heart of Pt Macquarie and everything you need is right by the accomodation. Wharfs and big park for kids. Big area to play and kick a ball. Room was great and enough room for two little kids.

The room is probably in need of an update (ceiling cracks, old furniture, tatty window coverings, bathroom fittings), but the overall hotel is great. Lovely bar/breakfast room (at Zebu) and wonderful pool with spa. We really enjoyed our stay. Staff was great and very helpful.

Things we liked: staff very friendly, pool was nice, breakfast buffet great, bed was comfortable, nice view over harbour.
Things we didn't like: room looked like it was from the 80's, very stained and in bad condition. When you pay nearly $400 for a night in a hotel, you expect the best. We paid just over $100 for a room up the coast that was way better. Very disappointed Rydges. I know you are currently updating your rooms, but please don't charge so much for a very sub standard room.

This property is in a great location but is let down by the condition of the room in which we stayed.
For a Rydges property, which I stay in often, this property is in poor condition with damaged carpets, curtains & the bathroom was a very poor standard.
Staff were helpful & courteous.
If it's a central location you are after this property has that but if you want to stay in a 3.5 star or above property avoid this property until it is renovated.

This was my third stay at Rydges in Port Macquarie. I stayed in a Studio Room that had water glimpses. It was very spacious , quiet and very comfortable.
The pool was fantastic and the buffet breakfast was ok, not amazing.
Overall a great stay. You cannot get a better location on the riverfront!

location was excellent. Rooms were dated and need renovating, but very comfortable. Booked for 3 people through Wotif but on checking out, discovered they had charged us for 4 people. It was fixed though and credit given. Food in hotel restaurant was expensive but very nice.

Over rated brand, over rated property and over priced. Needed a thorough renovation.

This was our wedding anniversary trip so we paid for an ocean view. The room was tired, no treats for our anniversary, and the ocean view was a bit obstructed because of the floor we on but it was ok... until the drilling and hammering started at 7am across the hall.
We were moved away from the renovation noise for our second night with a late checkout, the view was nicer a couple of floors up and it was less shabby, they gave us a bottle of sparking and cheese plate for our anniversary so we were happy again until we tried to order room service breakfast.
After multiple calls it finally came, they'd put bacon on it (which we don't eat and it'd seeped oil over our food). We asked to see a statement on check out and they'd not only charged for bacon but charged breakfast twice. The desk staff were lovely, but I didn't feel it was as good as the other times we'd stayed there. Their rooms definitely need the renovations but I don't want to pay top dollar to be near it while it's being done.

Property is conveniently placed in Town and a great location. Great place to stay.
Make sure you ask for an upgrade if available. The hotel looks out over the water and parkland infront. We had great views of the car park entrance and a loading area. We were only in for 1 night so didn't bother us too much. Still enjoyed the stay. Great staff and room was clean.

Location is very central and close to the sea shores.
Room furniture can be upgraded to more modern style instead of the old tarnished wooden ones badly needing at least new lacquer.

Our kettle had fungus growing inside it.
No complimentary water- which you would expect from a hotel of this caliber.
We attempted to rebook for our return trip but price was dearer and no attempt was made to price match.

So the room was very very outdated, very old furniture! Not at all the pictured room on your site. Very disappointed, then to make matters worse when we returned from dinner the room stunk of sewerage, I kid you not! The maintenance guy said it was because the water had ran away and left the toilet empty therefore the smell rose up. At the very least we should have been given a different room........ Nope got a sorry guys it will improve! Took a long time! Ruined our night!
