Due to traffic we called the hotel and said we wouldn’t be arriving until midnight. They told us it was no problem. They were very accommodating. When we arrived they checked us in and gave us a room in a quiet area so we could sleep well. We were very appreciative. The room was clean and comfortable. We would stay again.

Front desk clerk very friendly and nice. Room we first got checked into smelled so bad like mold and mildew we couldn’t stay in it. Was able to get another room but that room the toilet kept running all night and heater had a ticking noise which kept us awake all night. Not a good experience.

Hotel was under construction and should have been closed until repairs were finished.
Had to walk through boarded up hallways to get to an elevator that sounded like it was on its last leg.

The room it self was terrible and should have been out of service. I found hair on the toilet all with other back stuff on toilet set cover along with that hair. Hair was found in our towels. Lots of dust in the bathroom boards. Light bulb missing in the bedroom ceiling. Also room was next to elevator asked to be changed to another room and front desk said no they had no rooms and that I didn’t believe there were maybe 10 cars there.. Front deck very rude not professional all.

Classy enough to have sex in it and not feel like a hooker, cheap enough to save some money to put towards booze. Old room, damage to walls, 1 ant in the restroom and a fruit fly. Comfortable bed, warm room with adjustable windows for fresh air. Neutral on the smell. Area felt safe and not "crack haven"
Starbucks located near by, roundabout diner close by. Best damn milkshakes.

Will be nicer when renovations are complete. Location is great.

Hotel is under renovations but the entrance on side near my room didn’t lock, I was ok with that as I jammed the iron board so my door couldn’t be opened once inside. Bed was extremely comfortable and room was clean. Around 12:30am I found a bedbug. Packed up and left.

Complimentary breakfast was a joke. Very clean area but only because everyone walked in, looked around and walked out.

Horrible

It was reasonably close to town. Right on the highway. Property out back was full of junk. Price was good.

The only positive was that the person at the front desk was pleasant and up front. The property was in poor condition so, not as pictured. Requested to leave/ be refunded before staying for the evening so we could book elsewhere and this request was denied. Expedia was not helpful as they only contacted the owner who only offered another room which would of course been in the same hotel… also, at that point rated elsewhere we’re much hire so we were between a rock and a hard place. Ended up having to stay the evening. Not even a partial refund or offer to make right on the part of Expedia.

No one was available for check out. It did not mentioned construction being done on Expedia site. Noisy neighbors, dated rooms which explained the construction. Leaves everywhere in the parking lot.

Good value but side entrance didn’t lock so anyone can come into building.

Hotel needs work. Worn around the edges. Rooms ok. Walks thin.

This place is a dump. Staff is nice but the hotel is gross. Old carpet, under construction so there’s no open pool. Breakfast is just stale bagels and bread. I cannot believe this place charged us $500 for a weekend stay. This is possibly the worst value I’ve ever experienced. Our dog friendly room smelled of mold and mildew in addition to dogs so we had to leave the windows open the full fall weekend even though it was cold at night. Still smelled. The hallway was dilapidated and so old and smelly. Would never stay here again.

We had a very nice one night stay. The bathroom was clean and had all the necessary amenities, nothing was broken or dirty, and the bed was comfortable. Upon arrival, the associate at the front desk was extremely friendly and personable. I felt very welcomed. We loved the location as well, very easy commute to restaurants, shopping and downtown. Would definitely stay here again.

A satisfactory room at an acceptable price.

Construction mode not mentioned till after booking, charged full price, but not up to standards, should have been advertised and reduced price.

Under construction but no workers around, old, bed was comfortable though

Place is in rough shape. Reeks of cigarettes (supposed to be non-smoking,…NOT)and dampness. Parts of this old place are under renovation. Dimly lit parking lots, uneven/broken pavement, makes for scary walks with my dog. Did not feel safe. The room we were in had a new bathroom, but already had cigarette burns in it on the ledge. Also had a new bed which was great to sleep in. Breakfast was included, but was just some beverage choices, a few icky pastries, waffle maker blah. We went out to breakfast at MCD’s before driving home. The only thing we liked at this place was the clerk at night check in. When we checked out the day clerk was nice, but looked like she had just rolled out of bed, reading a magazine or paper, not very professional at all. Anchorage Inn may want to consider closing until all Reno’s are done.

Staff was super friendly, and the room was clean. Affordable, no frills hotel for the moment. They are currently under construction so there are definitely a few eye sores inside and outside the property. Hate to knock them for it but I guess that comes with the territory when you are under construction.

The room had a musty smell and the carpets throughout the hotel looked worn and also had a musty smell. Although the hotel was going through renovations it was I bet less than what an Econo Lodge stay would be and the breakfast was very poor.

Perfect for our two nights in Portsmouth. 5 minutes to downtown. Big clean room. Very nice people. I don't care about the breakfast or lobby, got a clean room at a great price. Good wifi too.

Warm and friendly staff, clean comfortable room convenient to downtown. Location easy access to highway.
Property under renovations but wasn’t a problem.

This property is in renovation but website makes no mention of this. The unduly long walk up unfinished hslways to the elevator is very unpleasant. If it were not for the helpful staff, I would not have gotten the luggage up hill through this long corridor. Breakfast was limited, no fruit at all, probably due to very few prople eating there.

Not worth $50 a night. Place needs to be tore down and rebuild.

Overall, our stay was quite pleasant, it was just that the facility is under rehabilitation construction and the gym and pool were not available which we didn't find out until a few days before the stay. There was a lot of equipment and materials in the parking lot and not much of a view being right off the highway. Otherwise, it was very convenient to downtown Portsmouth and we used it a base for going to York Beach 20 minutes away.

Property was under renovation in its 2nd year. Motel stated breakfast sandwiches but no microwave and no sandwiches. Breakfast room was very nice roomy scenic with new big windows. Priceing was resonable. Enjoyed its location for convenance. Staying here now for many years.

Absolutely loved it! It was perfect for the amount of time we were spending there.

I understand the property is undergoing renovations but they should be embarrassed to charge $250 for a one night stay. Doors from the outside were propped open, there were holes in the wall and bathroom door in my room. I imagine once it is fully renovated that the $250/night might be reasonable but not at the moment.

Under remodeling; confusing layout.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Everything is old and dirty especially the bed and chairs. In the morning the front desk was vacant (with an indecipherable postit note and cell phone number) and no breakfast items were available. Then after 30 minutes the front desk person came in ( from the pool?) and blamed the breakfast issue on the housekeeper who is “Spanish and doesn’t understand English.” There was no orange juice and the hot water did not work even when both buttons were pushed properly.

The hotel was conveniently located near major roads. Naval shipyard and Portsmouth were within walking distance, but roads were busy and unsafe. Traffic noise was unpleasant.

Good for the price.

The hotel was remodeling interior common areas but our room was clean and roomy

Did the job for a two-night's stay in Portsmouth. Reasonably clean, quiet and convenient. Not fancy, but definitely adequate.
2.0
The price should have been lowered because there was a lot of construction so no amenities as listed. I had to go to the front desk several times to get kitchen supplies that were supposed to be brought to the room and still didn't get what was listed. It was not worth the price.
