I booked at this Laquinta because it was what was available at a decent price. I'm glad I did! The room, though a smidge dated, was well-appointed and very clean. The bed and pillows were comfy, and my wife and I slept well. The breakfast was on point and was better than what I have had at other hotels in the area. This is obviously a chain, but it was clearly run by someone and their staff who know how to run a hotel with class. Fruit-infused water is at the front desk, a piano is in the front lobby, and roses are greeting you at the front door. I thought for a minute I had stepped into the Hotel Philips in Kansas City or the Colord in Oklahoma City.

Our room was fantastic and the staff was super friendly. one suggestion - remove the footstool/ottoman from the end of the bed. When walking around in the dark (so as to not disturb the other person) I hit my knee on the footstool. Most hotels do not have furniture placed at the foot of the bed. Thanks!

The tile work in the bathroom floor was very poorly done.
The breakfast was cold and very bland. The front desk people were nice and room was clean

Great Hotel! The breakfast was amazing, better than most hotels I have stayed at in the past. Also the pool and weight room is open 24/7!

Everything about the hotel was perfect except the room above me had some work being done to it and it was excessive banging and loud stomping all night.

Terrible service /attitude. Not approachablezzzseemes like an inconvenience. I was exhausted and definitely didn’t need that at the end of a long day of driving.

We enjoyed our stay in Trinidad. The hotel is modern, clean and very quiet. The personal service at breakfast is a nice touch. What a beautiful area! Take time to enjoy the views and the huge outdoor patio.

It was for one night. Friendly staff, clean, and overall a good experience.

The breakfast experience was great, just like I heard. Friendly, quick, good choices, and fast. They had French toast, scrambled eggs, hash browns, bagels, sausage, green chili, etc. the room was. Noisy. The walls are thin. Nice enough for our one night IF you bring earplugs. Found some bugs on the floor. Overall it is ok, but breakfast was great.

We had a suite, really loved it, nice size. The room was clean and the staff were super friendly. I really only have two criticisms, one I feel is kind of a big deal, but not a deal breaker. First, I don't like that you can't close the curtains...at all. Yes, there are sheers, but at night you can see right through them, not sure how they decided there was no need for privacy, plus, facing east means the sun wakes you up early whether you want to or not...we are not early risers. The second issue, the petty one, the bathroom is huge, it would be nice to have a hook on the wall by the shower to hang a towel...I did say it was petty. As I also said, neither are deal breakers, we will stay again.

Best ever experience in this type of hotel! Interior design and layout show careful thought and taste. The tasteful addition of local history, coupled with current information for activities and the "must-sees" of the area, make one feel confident in their visit. The hotel staff are friendly and are interested in making sure visitors are comfortable. The hotel is generous with basics, snacks, towels and information. A perfect night's stay is topped off by well thought out breakfast service that is great, while reassuring guests of cleanliness and care. Just the best!

Passing through. One of the better hotels we have used in the past 13 years, traveling from S.D. to Arizona.

We were traveling through to Texas from Wyoming. When we arrived late in the night the Front Desk gentleman named Ken was super helpful and very nice. He made sure our check in was very smooth as I had two kids, 2 dogs and a husband traveling with me that were all ready for bed. He made sure to let us know about breakfast, which btw is AMAZING, about the pool and hot tub being open, uprgraded our room, gave us directions to our room, and asked if we needed help getting our things inside to the lobby. We appreciated him tremendously. We will definitely stay here again. The hotel was very clean, well lighted parking lot, easy check in and out, amazing breakfast, easy to find and more!

Clean, well maintained, and a good value.

Our first room had an overwhelming smell of marijuana. However, customer service did a great job of finding us a new room.
The cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel needs some work.

This is a nice facility. I often skip breakfast at hotels, but the breakfast here was surprisingly nice and a step-up from what you usually see offered at mid-range hotels.
My only complaint is that the bathroom strangely had no dispenser for the toilet paper, nor did it have any hang bars for hand towels. Perhaps there is renovation going on and these items just haven't been installed yet.

The hot tub was so hot! I mean like boiling. I love hot water, but this was terrible. I could not sit in it for more than 5 minutes. Another guest warned me before I got in and I thought she was kidding. NOPE! The breakfast was terrible! The manager was rude, her boyfriend was there and they were hanging all over each other. She was blowing her nose & went and smoked, not once did she wash her hands. Gloves do not protect everything, Yuck. I ended up throwing half my breakfast away after I saw all that. Not to mention it was ice cold. She was complaining about the cost of salsa. Seriously? I get costs are high, but please do it in private. I read another person's review about the breakfast and thought they were being harsh. NOPE, make plans for breakfast if you go. I will not ever be eating there again. Plus, they had a tip jar. I did not appreciate that. Do I need to tip them for scooping cold food out of a warmer & acting like I am an inconvenience? Plus, I had to have a ticket to get breakfast. I was waiting on my family and she told me if I ordered without them they would not be able to eat since my ticket said 3 and it was just me. Are they hurting that bad that guests need a "ticket" to get breakfast? It is not made to order, just precooked and sat in a warmer. Just a really bad experience. Overall the front desk staff was polite. The room was about what you would expect for the price. The hot tub and breakfast are what made me give it such a low rating.

Very happy with our visit.

Front desk was super kind and helpful but informed me that despite what it says online, they do not have designated dog rooms and just let people with dogs stay wherever. As someone who is allergic to dogs, I find this to be a huge liability and at the least, a huge inconvenience. Not to mention misleading.

We arrived tired after driving 12 hours and so happy we could soak in the Hot Tub and swim too. This would be a long trip driven in a few days and I so appreciate the kindness and respect given to my family. We also utilized the laundry. Breakfast was wonderful!! Clean, comfortable room and beds.

Only stayed one night and came in super late. The front desk person was so nice and helpful. The bed and pillows were comfortable, room was clean and well stocked with needs. WiFi was sufficiently fast. Breakfast was great with a nice variety. There is nothing I could complain about. Great experience!

We arrived and due to volume, they upgraded us to a fabulous room. Large, king-sized suite. They had excellent suggestions for dinner and were overall very friendly! Breakfast was top notch! Would highly recommend!
