Our studio apartment was quiet, clean, and tastefully decorated. The inn is extremely well located for walking to many of Boston's major attractions and to excellent dining options. The kitchen in our studio unit was small but well equipped, quite adequate for a few days' stay. This is a no-contact facility: You're given key codes for main entrance and apartment doors. No problem for us, but I saw a couple of other people struggling to get in the front door.
My major complaint is the somewhat rundown condition of our apartment and the public areas. Half the kitchen cabinets were missing handles--had to open them by grasping the end of the screw that had held the missing knob in place. There were what looked like bleach stains on the carpet of our apartment, down the hall, and in the elevator. Carpets generally looked to need a good cleaning if not replacing. There were some marks on the wall near the desk in our unit; could've used a little touch-up painting.
These points weren't deal breakers for us, particularly given the reasonable room rate. Based on location and general cleanliness and privacy, we would return to the Inn at St. Botolph.

Great location for a family trip to Boston. The green line is a block away at the Prudential center. The hotel is exactly what this family needed for our trip. The mini kitchen was enough to make a couple of dinners.
In terms of layout - the kiddo slept on the couch (not a sleeper couch) and the parents in the bedroom. There is a sliding door that separates the two.

The property is great but no signage or unloading area very easy to miss cause it looks just like the other Brownstones on the street but a very charming place to stay for sure

The room was very roomy with everything one might need for a good stay. Mr. Thomas was very friendly and professional. We will go back to the Inn when we visit Boston again.

We loved it! Right in the heart of the Back Bay Area. We felt like we lived there! And it was so close to The Prudential!! Definitely would stay again! It did have a weird smell but I think it’s just the age of the building! But this was perfect for us!!! Surrounded by the trees and beautiful city!! Love love loved it!!

The living area and bedroom were nice and very roomy. Bathroom is much too small and amenities were sparse. Kitchen was nice.
Due to lack of parking and inability to use a cart, attempting to bring your personal items to and from your room was difficult.

Carpets in all areas were stained
Utensils in kitchen inadequate and not very clean
Good location but small cramped area for breakfast, no proper tables and chairs.
Some staff very helpful in offering a change of room, others seemed indifferent, and reported broken bulb in bedside lamp went unresolved.
Both rooms we tried had disturbance from elevator

This is a great hotel and normally would have deserved a solid 4 stars, amenities a bit restricted, kitchenettes and bathrooms slightly dated, but clean and super friendly staff and nice enough rooms. But they did not have duvets and that is a big no no for me, especially after a transatlantic flight when I just want to snuggle up. They advertise “premium bedding“, and I have no doubt that the blankets they have are high quality, but they just don‘t have duvets. If you don‘t need a duvet, this is a great hotel.

Great place! Room was spacious. Had everything we needed. Parking wasn't the best but grateful there was a garage The Inn suggested that we were able to use.

Key code login in for the front door and room itself was very convenient. The room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. The building was quiet and the neighborhood was very lovely and walkable. Dining and drinking options only 5 minutes away. The train station was a 10 minute walk, even less for the nearest subway.

Unique, quaint boutique style brownstone hotel, room has updated kitchen and furnishings. Great coffee, tea and water selections included. Close to Prudential bldg and great shopping, restaurants and bars. We love the Backbay area and this hotel.

Fabulous place with the nicest, most helpful staff! Very quaint and unique. Why stay at a giant cookie cutter hotel when you can stay at this awesome Inn! Will definitely stay here again

When you book you get sent an email with your room and a code to get into the building and a code for you room. I've never experienced this before but honestly it was really nice and easy! The room was adorable for 2 people. Would highly recommend staying here

What a beautiful room. It was very spacious and comfortable. Close to the convention center, shopping and restaurants. It was really comfortable spot. My only complaint was that there was no dishwasher, but hand washing the coffee cups wasn't so bad. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom nice, especially the shower.

Loved the location. Guest services was very responsive. Really liked having a kitchen. Very adequate breakfast in the morning. Downside- carpet and furnishings are tired and give the feel of not being clean. There was a couch/chaise in our room doubling as a bed for our son. Upholstery was dated and worn. Beautiful grounds. We walked to Fenway on several occasions. Nice visit! Will co sister staying there again if rooms are remodeled.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Inn at St. Botolph. The suite was spacious and clean, and the location was incredible (walking distance to transit and key attractions). We are most appreciative to Jordin from the front desk who accommodated an early check-in for our very tired toddler. Her kindness made all the difference and we will be returning the next time we are in Boston.

The Inn is in an excellent location, easily walkable to many sites. You truly feel like you living in an apartment Boston for your stay. It’s a beautiful residential area and close to a few T stops.

This property has reasonably big rooms, with a full kitchenette. The location is very good, and the staff very friendly and helpful. However, there is no staff present on the property after 10PM, which can be disconcerting, and noise from other rooms/street can be bothersome. Fortunately, the street next to the hotel is never busy.

Great location and nice suite set up - would be a good option for extended stay

The Inn was so pleasant for our weekend stay. The shower was heavenly! The bed comfortable, staff friendly, and the continental breakfast excellent. I could just move in!

Great little boutique hotel , small but wonderful rain shower, great breakfast, but, my 2nd stay was not so great ..bed was terrible, stains all over carpeting..must have been used as an apartment & person was a slob..mattress should be replaced..husband has a bad back..not able to get comfortable..left after 1st night, 2nd was not refunded..people at the desk are great , including manager, but
Unfortunately, the person on staff on the day we left unexpectedly refused to consider allowing us to change rooms& it was misunderstood why we left...had nothing to do with the cold temperatures in Boston at the time..some refurbishing of beds & carpeting would make this place perfect again..too bad

Very pleasant and helpful front desk admin during our stay. A little hidden and the parking is a bit far. But once your checked in, you forget any inconvenience and really enjoy the quiet, clean room in the heart of back bay. Sweet place that we look forward to revisiting soon.

The toilet roll holder is broken; the bedside light on the right side does not work

Like the breakfast available in morning, wish it was open a bit earlier. Staff is very accomodating. Did not like late night noise from a nearby room. Like the space of the suites and kitchen area. Available free laundry a big plus.

Everything about this stay was great- the value, the location, the very friendly person at the desk, who showed me the kitchen and how to use the Nespresso machine.
