It is a lovely old building and the staff are genuinely interested in why you are there, where have you travelled from and anything they can help you with, we felt very relaxed speaking to them.
Our room overlooked the beautiful gardens.
Room overall catered to our needs, bed was excellent, super nights sleep!
Shower area looking tired but adequate.

We had an excellent 3 night stay. The building is old, quaint, and full of history.
The staff were so helpful. Hanna, a staff member was particularly so. But all the staff were delightful, and attentive.
The breakfast was generous and excellent quality.
There is no food severed at weekends. But we were given a list of places to eat out and local takeaways. The Hotel provided plates and cutlery and napkins, and could drink our own alcohol in the lounge after the bar had shut. So we received lots of support from the staff to make sure we were still taken care of.
We will definitely return, as we have friends in that area.

A superb hotel, beautiful decor, lovely garden and a raised outside seating area.
Excellent staff, friendly, helpful and very efficient. The rooms are of a high standard with tv and tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely comfortable bed and super comfortable pillows.
We enjoyed a scenic five minute walk along the riverside, to get to the town centre. Ample parking spaces too.
The lounge area is also, very inviting and beautifully decorated and our stay was topped off with a delicious breakfast in the morning, a great selection of fruits, cereals, croissants etcetera followed by a cooked full English breakfast.
We will definitely stay at Cley Hall Hotel again and highly recommend it.

Attractive clean and comfortable room, good breakfast options. Needs a new light bulb over the front door of the hotel.

Odd hotel, parking is minimal and a bit of a free for all, though thankfully there is a spacious, paid for car park around the corner.
The room on the ground floor smelt like the kitchen (bacon/fat) and there was only one large towel in said room.
No ability to open the windows to let any fresh air in, or to tun the radiators off.
Staff on arrival were fantastic, the room was semk-clean and in reasonable condition.
For the price i would say it was fair value.

Had a wonderful time being looked after by Dawson and all of the friendly staff. They couldn’t have done more for us!

We had a lovely warm welcome at the property, it was just fab. The hotel don't do evening meals, but there was an extensive list on the desk of places that did and we had a great evening as a result of some good tips. The room was beautiful, I was so pleased with the view and the comfort and cleanliness. If I am in this area I would stay again.

Desk check in staff was friendly and accommodating made me feel welcome, i was informed of local amenities plus safe and reliable taxis to use. I liked the bar and garden, the street view is calm and peaceful. Value for money thoroughly recommend it.

Really friendly staff, in a delightful hotel. Great Breakfast options, all cooked fresh. I would happily stay here again when visiting South Lincolnshire.

The guy on check in was great the hotel was terrible. First room was claustrophobic, small ceiling window and tiny. Ask to be moved into a bigger room, this was in the cellar and damp and smelly.
There was no option for food and I was charged £95.
Please please please avoid, it’s only because I was desperate and tired that I did not try cancel.
The hotel is not fit for purpose

My stay was in room 17, this 3as at a very cold time of year, but the room was very cold, I was given additional heater to help (thank you) the room needed a little talc paint work ect, the bathroom was like a block of ice, breakfast was average at best but was hot and made to order with reasonable options.

We arrived at Cley Hall on Saturday afternoon and checked in without any issues although the printer was out of action so no invoice could be printed but this didn't really affect us.
We were given our key to one of the ground floor self catering/accessible rooms. The room was a good size, self catering equipment was adequate and the bathroom a good size.
Some of the bathroom fittings are a bit tired/moldy and could do with replacing but the bed was huge and comfy.
We had plans for the early evening in Spalding but headed back to the hotel just after 10pm - it was completely closed up. No lights on, the bar was closed, all the outside lights had been turned off - including those outside the ground floor apartments which was less than ideal.
Given that this is a 4star hotel, I would have expected the bar to be open for residents to enjoy a drink before going to their room (something a night porter would do in other smaller hotels) not to be closed up at around 10pm. The hotel is looking a bit tired and signage is looking a bit dated.
Such a shame as we had stayed previously a few years ago and everything was spot on .
Parking can be a challenge due to the way the car park is laid out. We weren't asked for our registration number at check in so any problems with cars blocking would be an issue. We had to reverse out onto the main road.
Overall, this is a good 3 star & the location is great for Spalding but it doesn't deliver on the quality that you expect from a 4 star.

Classic hotel, easy parking, lovely breakfast carefully presented and served. I arrived after hours at 815 pm and I personally couldn’t manage the lock box to get the key - a combination of poor eyesight and nail extensions! So I would have had to ring the night porter had my daughter not been able to manage it! So I would definitely come again - but would arrive before reception closed!
